Surprised there's no chatter about this one! There's bound to be some forumites there other than me, right?

The room was full of fresh new faces who I don't think come to these parts.  Sat with James Hendry, Karin and Julie Crowe near the front but I don't think they come here much either.  James summed it up admirably as always on his giggingforever account - sure he won't mind if I copy and paste below.  There were at least two static video cameras in evidence - hopefully some Frost* Reports to follow.

44th and definitely final gig of 2019: John Mitchell and Jem Godfrey present a Festive Esoteric evening... in which two of my favourite musicians spent two hours on stage in the only way they know how - equal servings of fantastic music and epic pissing about.
.
Many songs from the pair's time together as Frost*, including a fantastic version of "Closer to the Sun" with the full keyboard and guitar prog-duel, a welcome outing for "Secret Song" and a '70s bossa-nova reworking of "Falling Down" which included a meat raffle. Then many songs from John's wide repertoire with Lonely Robot, It Bites, Kino and even the Urbane - reminding us all just how many great songs he's been responsible for.

All served up in the surroundings of an old Manor House in the middle of nowhere with the feel of a Moroccan trading outpost; with furniture and fabrics for sale and a gallery of Roger Dean paintings upstairs.

But maybe best of all - the chance to catch up with some fellow Frost* fans, and to spend the 11th anniversary of our meeting with Karin, watching some of the same daft people do similar daft things on stage. @ Trading Boundaries

We went for the concert, not for the meal. A long wet drive, very worth it as the gig and giggles were top class! Met some others from Cambridge and Southend. Can't add to the great review above (or below) save to say I hadn't any idea what to expect from a furniture shop and the venue and the set list over-delivered in spades! 8)

Oh yeah, there was some banter from the host, about an up and coming girl-proof prog gig that might be female compatible. We "women prog appreciators" were already here. Soz n'all. Nice you had Close to the Edge artwork upstairs, been a prog fan since 1973... Move on.
Some of us drag our bloke mates to prog gigs. 🤗

Does anyone recall the setlist?

Eclectic Lonely Robot, reimagined Falling Down. Awesome Closer to the Sun, punchy Numbers... Beautiful rendition of the  Secret Song, Loser's Day Parade. Not in that order, and with a host of other stuff... In my imagination they played Towerblock, but they didn't, it was just in my own head. Still rattling around from Dingwalls! What else?

Well, I did actually find a Frost* duo gig that me and Jem did, which we didn't realize was being recorded that got recorded, at the end of last year.  So I'm gonna mix that; I think we're gonna put that out.
