Announcements / Re: Moderator stuffers

Judging by the general "ambience" of good humour and friendly posting that abounds in this forum, I'd assumed, apart from the occasional post moves, that moderator input was hardly necessary.

We are such a cool bunch!  :D

Ask Frost* / Re: Top Gear?
November 09, 2008, 10:30:37 PM
Quote from: "catherine"As part of my mission to bring Frost to a wider public, and seeing Jeremy Clarkson namecheck Camel, Gong, and Genesis while he was chatting to Will Young on Top Gear this evening, a thought struck me. I wonder if there would be any mileage (sorry) in sending Mr Clarkson a copy of EIMA once it comes out? He's a bit of a not-so-closet progger, and has recently contributed sleeve notes to some recent Genesis re-releases.

TG often has cars driving along with music playing - wouldn't it be fab if a bit of Frost hit the Sunday prime-time airwaves?

Wot! Camel quoted on Top Gear  :o   and  Going to have to check out the i-player.

Nice idea Catherine.

Another closet progger worth chasing down is Al Murray, I was at Progeny a couple of years ago where he introduced Re-Genesis (I think it was) on the same bill as Man and Jadis. He joined the Genesis tribute band on stage playing cymbals on 'Firth of Fifth'. Incidentally I also saw him with Chad Smith of the Chilli Peppers doing a drum demo at a music trade show. As well as some very solid drumming, from Al as well with his modest kit, it was brilliantly adlibbed entertainment as well.

So there.

That's just so wrong. I think.
Let's fix this problem, then!
That might be a good idea.
Won't catch me hyperquoting... :
Me either .... oh fiddlesticks
Tssk tssk, I would never do such a thing as Hyperquoting... Oh shi-
You guys aren't even trying.
.... D:
Is this how we broke the system earlier?  :P
It wasn't me, I didn't do it nobody saw me do it you can't prove anything
we haven't even begun tp test the system, right, FastHost?
tp test? who is supplying?
Sure I'll supply some!
this tp is a bit too rough for my delicateness..
Delicatessen?  I could really go for a sub right now...
That sounds good, let's meat for lunch  :D
This is a quotation. It's the repetition of one expression as part of another one, particularly when the quoted expression is well-known or explicitly attributed (as by citation) to its original source. Aha.
Hmm, you sure about that? What's your source?
Wiki always speaks the truth. Especially here.
WHAT, he's not a moose whisperer anymore?
Did you know that Jem Godfrey is an anagram for "Gee My Fjord"?
What about "My Freed Jog"?
That's a propitious accusation.
When quoting, you can save vertical space by beginning your response right after the closing square bracket after the "/quote" tag without hitting <return>. This also makes a hyperquote more visually appealing and a teeny bit less annoying to some....
I've pruned the spare lines out of this one. The old forum gave some quite pleasant curves when this was done.  :)
And we all love pleasant curves don't we kids? ;)

They were sent to a friend by her brother who was on business in China a few years ago.
They are now framed and hung on their bathroom wall.
I still giggle at it now, and it's been at least 5 years...

Excellent... could I possibly steal this for my blog???, I'd give you a good ref.  ;)  No probs if you rather I didn't.  :)

why not just start in neutral and roll down?

Now you see, you're missing the point... ;)

Or you could move to The Netherlands.

Quote from: "SerFox"What was the last thing you bought and wished you hadnt?

Mine was actually a couple of years ago now. I bought a double neck guitar that was pretty banged up, theyd done a terrible spray paint job on it and all the guts were ruined, and ad to that someone had gloss painted the fretboard...

It cost me about £120, and it doesnt require that much work. The gloss paint came off without damage to the fretboard besides what it had done, the frets were easy to clean, replacing a couple of them though, and there arent many ajustments needing done. But I have no idea how to clean this horrible paint job and im useless at electronics, so its gathering dust in a corner until I finish education and have lots of free time, because I know exactly what I want to do with it and it'll look ace when its done, its just... doing it.

Oh yeah, it has coupled humbuckers and Ibanez supers pickups, and they are extremely warm sounding, I think the cost of the guitar was worth the pickups themselves, but.. yknow...

Your turn.

Mate, I've mentioned this before on the old forum, if you ever need any help with electronics or wiring etc, advice, or even maybe some work done, I will probably be able to help. Especially considering your present location.

Project wise....I've got a valve amp sketched out, but finding the time, now that's the difficult bit!

Im still quite a new frost*ie, dont hate me :(

I dont actually have it down here in hatfield. I might get it sent down at some point though.

I don't hate you!!! I'ts a habit of mine to mention that I've mentioned things before. It's  not wanting people to think that I'm a rambling old git, a la... When I was in the war, Uncle Albert sort of thing...I thought I'd just mention that.

Frost* / Re: The Peel Xmas gig roll call
November 09, 2008, 08:37:25 AM
I'll be there on Sat. Sunday is very tempting, but I suspect the new kitchen accumulated Brownie points have all but been used up. Sunday is... hmm... 50/50

I have two tickets, I'd love to bring Little Frostette, but I'm sure  there are always age restrictions at The Peel.

So it will probably be Guitarski. How I wish he could drive!!!

Quote from: "eponymous"And is he still "Cookie Monster" across the salt pond?  Or is he "Biscuit Monster"?  And does he sing "B is for biscuit, that's good enough for me"?

Don't worry. He remains The Cookie Monster on this side.  I don't remember what he sings, as it's been a long time since I had the pleasure of watching his antics!

"Cookie Monster Music" though... I kinda like that. Nice one Mrs Epo
