At least I visit the old place on a regular basis. :D Mind you I suppose you've been popping in regularly today :D
Ordered!
but damn, that shipping cost is a bite in the butt, eh? :(
Cant you get it locally Rog? Although you do get VAT (20%) taken off, so there's that
maybe, but I figure Jem's going to get the best return from the pre-order, so oh well!!
;D

Indeed! Not a moment of hesitation!! ;D
Shipping charges from the UK to the US went through the roof back in July, with another increase this month. The Royal Mail are blaming it on increased costs at the US end.
I'm running the pledge campaign for the new Lifesigns album, and having to placate our American fans. Sadly there's not much we can do to avoid it, and if they spring another increase on us before the album release, we'll be out of pocket.
:(
yeah, the US is a shitshow right now. Hopefully improving in a few weeks...
For the US, shipping was only ~$7 from century media, limited to 300 copies though

Oh nice, and a new Lunatic Soul album too... ordered!
wow!
ah well! ;D
Well, hello, everyone – it has been a while. For those who I don't chat to occasionally in The Other Place, I hope you're all well and safe at this mad time.
13 Winters duly ordered & very much looking forward to the new material next year. Regular chats with Mr Mitchell lead me to conclude that it'll be a corker.
Hey TA! Doing away as best we can, hope you are well and managing coping with this gig-blighted mini-apocalypse.
We can but hope 2021 is better.
Trailer alert..

Only a week to wait....
chomping at the bit!! ;D
Got an email from Burning Shed to say it's been dispatched... 8)
me, too!!
!
Getting started on Spotify while the delivery makes its way. FS Instrumentals holding up well..
Got mine ;D ;D
Now: how do I hide it from Santa's little helpers? ???
No sign of mine today :(
Nothing here either yet. Still time though! 🤞
My copy arrived in the afternoon and whilst I haven't had a chance to play any CD yet (ooh, dilemma - which of the 8 do I choose first?!) I have to say it is a thing of fantastic beauty. :) Good old Vitamin P has done an outstanding job. Essential purchase for any Frost* fan. 8)
Doesn't seem like my physical copy will come in for a bit, but I did notice that all of the remasters and such are available on the Frost* - Topic Youtube page.
The artwork is awesome!
Saving the listening for later...
Had a listen to the remixed EIMA and I think I prefer it to the original. It seems less compressed and all of the instruments appear to have more room to breathe. Andy's drums definitely sound clearer and are possibly more prominent in the mix. I like what Jem has done with Secret Song. It sounds more 'meant' as part of the album. Still too long a fade though! 8)

so, it seems, am I. About 5 weeks later >:( And I bet I have to pay for it :-[
Merry Xmas everybody
Ok, started with the FS Karaoke...
And back at Dingwalls, I can hear you guys...
Got our copy in the LF/Philadelphia household yesterday!
So far listened to EIMA remix (about which I think I concur with DS, it's a bit less compressed sounding, though it is still pretty brutal on the ears thanks to the constant cymbal and snare-attack!) and now we're onto "Falling Satellive" (aka "the only Frost* gig we ended up not turning up to on the day...!)
Book is a thing of wonder. Looking forward to listening to the rest of it, though I can't help but notice that nearly 4 entire CDs are made up of variations on the same material from the one album.
I've not listened to the demos yet but I could think of quite a few other "oddity tracks" I'd have expected to see on that last CD instead (1976, anyone?)
Can't find any tracking info on the Burning whatever site, so I guess I just wait!
Mine apprently shipped on the 18th but has yet to appear... maybe tomorrow. :(
Errrrm, anyone noticed that "Nice Day For It" has lost all its vocals on the main album? (Listening on Spotify right now as I haven't ripped the CD yet)
Not sure if this was a mistake (accidentally included the instrumental version?) or deliberate...?
If it was deliberate, that's a real shame - the reprise of the "there is never a survivor from the final kiss" bit really ties it back to the album opening and packs a real emotional punch...
The CD is also the same - no "you know who you aaaaaare" or the "First Day" vocal reprise.
Surely not intentional?
I checked the instrumentals disc just in case they got swapped somehow but that's also instrumental.
Another interesting change is in the running order of Milliontown - BLM & The Other Me have swapped places... ???
I can live with that one! It actually makes more sense to me, I don't know why they originally put the two massive epics back to back.
The missing vocals on "Nice Day", though... can't be intentional. Surely? Bad decision if so...
I know there are other bits and bobs that have been tinkered with, but this just seems like an accident.
I don't know how to contact Jem these days to ask!

Tried that this morning, and got the response ...
"oh bloody hell!" :(
Ah... :(
Well, mine did arrive today, but not had a chance to listen to more than a snippet or two...
As to the issues... hopefully they'll get something sorted out, but a bit of a bummer it seems :/

Mine arrived yesterday too, with today being the 3rd anniversary of going to London for the Dingwalls gig so that's today listening!!!!
It's a beautiful set, with all of the lovely artwork by Vitamin P looking stunning - I'd love to see prints of some of this available at sometime (I do have the calendar from a few years ago which kind of does this with some of the art).
Fascinated to know how Rog has got his copy in the US and I'm still waiting in Kent ???

YAY!!
I hope you enjoy it. Mine's available in 30 days :'(
Been slowly working my way through the CDs in the last few days.
Pretty much of a similar mind on most of the things that have been said so far:
EIMA mix is really good, sounds a lot more natural and gives everything a bit of space. Love that 'The Secret Song' is a separate track now.
At first was a bit confused about 'BLM' & 'The Other Me' being swapped around but once again it gives the listener time to catch their breath.
Shame about 'Nice Day For It...' Think I'll slip the 2016 version onto my iPod in its place for the time being.
Has anyone else's book got a misprint?
In the lyric sheet for 'Welcome To Nowhere' the lyrics for 'Experiments In Mass Appeal' has been printed again. :o

I fear that all 3,000 have been printed like that. Big Big Train have got a "Passenger" who meticulously proof reads their sleeve notes and programmes before they get printed. But then they don't have a label behind them to help with that.
Right, so is that all the deliberate mistakes spotted now?! ;)
Jen has responded to me on Twitter to let me know that the "Nice Day for It" error is being (or has been?) fixed.
I don't know what that will entail though, hopefully the CDs will be reprinted or at least a lossless download. :)

wow. these mixes are out-of-this-world!! Jem has outdone himself. I didn't think there was anything left to hear that I hadn't heard before, since I have listened to this stuff a million(town) times, but wow. such depth and nuance. <3

they do give the old songs a whole new lease of life (not that they needed it of course :D), everything just feels like it has its own space and room to be heard. Jem has clearly been levelling up his production skills... :D Makes one salivate even more for the new stuff!

For anyone who wishes a replacement disc, here's the response from Jem:
13 Winters Boxset
Hello everyone,
It’s come to my attention, thanks to the vigilant eyes and ears of your good selves, that there are three production issues with the 13 Winters boxset.
These are namely –
1. “Milliontown” is missing an L on the lyric page.
2. The lyrics of "Welcome To Nowhere" are duplicated for "Experiments In Mass Appeal".
3. The second half of “Nice Day For It” on the Falling Satellites disc is instrumental.
No excuses - the blame lies entirely with myself, Paul Tippett and the record company. I’m hugely embarrassed and p***ed off about it and I offer my sincere apologies to you all for these errors that should have been picked up between us, but weren’t.
In terms of trying to rectify this, I’ve spoken to InsideOut and with regard to the artwork there’s not a great deal we can do at this time as the initial 3,000 copy run has been printed and sent out to all the distributors. It’s far from an ideal situation, but if and when we get to a second run we will of course make the necessary corrections.
With regard to the incorrect audio however, it’s better news. I’ve arranged with InsideOut that we will re-print the Falling Satellites disc with the correct audio in place and send it to those that would like a replacement version, free of charge.
If you would like a replacement disc, I’ve included a link with this message that will take you to a mailing list, please make sure you fill out your full address including country of residence as we’ll be needing it for the postal services.
So that we can conclude this problem swiftly there will be a 30 day time limit on registering, therefore the closing date will be Friday 5th February to get a replacement disc. We will then get the discs printed and sent out asap after that and keep you updated.
Here’s the link - https://bit.ly/3rUOs3e (https://bit.ly/3rUOs3e)
The digital version of the boxset has already had the incorrect mix replaced.
Once again, please accept my apologies for this, I should have been more across everything at the physical production stage and I have learned some valuable lessons as a result. It certainly will not happen again.
Take care,
Jem

It's also exposed the mailbox he is actally using, which probably wasn't a desired outcome.
So, do I send direct to that mailbox, or wait for the issue to be resoved or a different email address to be provided? :-\
you've got 28 days :o
I've just had a third attempt to get through to the "ahoy" email address and it hasn't bounced back yet...
Seems to have worked this time :)
Evening all. Seems as though I came back in September & then left again. I'm am such an unreliable friend. Then again, I'm not surprised given the state of things. Apologies ::)
Anyway, despite not having been here for a while, I was made aware of the various "13 Winters" printing & mastering problems by Mr Mitchell last week, and indeed they seem unfortunate, but genuine mistakes.
I'll send in my "claim" for the revised CD, but am also aware that this might be being covered out of the pocket of, err, someone (ahem), & am thus also wondering how I can help defray some of that unforeseen expense. I mean, I can't presume to speak for all Frost*ies, but I've had so much joy and pleasure out of being a Frost* fan all these years, I hate to think of folk losing money over a genuine error made while making something we're all enjoying. Repressing of 3000 discs & postage costs for those claimed will be considerabl, I imagine.
So, with that in mind, is anyone else interested in thinking of possible ways of helping out?
A bit of crowd funding to help fund the replacements? ???

This is confirmation that you are on the list and we hope the disc will be with you in the next few weeks.
Due to the number of people who applied, we are unable to respond to individual messages regarding this mailout, but we will keep you updated via email.

With thanks.

😀
got mine, too! ;D
and mine's in the post ;D ;D
mine, too!! woohoo!!
Just as a heads up, I received my replacement disk last week. I was initially a bit worried about someone(Jem, me?) having to pay huge customs fees as it made its way from the UK to NL, but nope. Still feel rather guilty about this whole thing, but perhaps I'll just have to buy ten copies of Day And Age as partial recompense :o
heh
I'd not received any emails... but my copy did turn up today. Maybe I'll follow TA's lead and buy an extra copy of the new album, can always use it as a present for one of my tighter friends :D
Got mine!
Me too! :D
Me three!
