May is going to be a very..... frosty month.... I'll see myself out.....
But no really May is going to be amazing!!!
woohoo! RAWK!!
8) Released the day after my birthday - what a great late present!
You never know: these things sometimes show up early!
Aha.....!
I haven't missed something have I? Is it for order yet?
never mind. 19/3/21 it is.
Unless you're American, obviously
Terrestrial is rather Frost*ie isn't it?
Amazon have got a little mixed up on the CDs
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Day-Age-Killers-2008-11-23/dp/B01K8OBUQA/ref=tmm_acd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1616146839&sr=8-1
Pre-Order live on Burning Shed .... inc. Gold Vinyl !!
https://burningshed.com/index.php?route=product/search&filter_name=frost&filter_sub_category=true
That was refreshingly refreshing! Although on the other hand reminiscent of 1980s Wang terminals...
cd ordered!
Just tossing up whether to get vinyl as well as the CDs...
I thought about that too. Then I remembered I don't have a record player
heh

And your problem is?
I have got to the point now where my super- smug car cd player has eaten my frost cd, and has locked me out of my own world, because I don't know it's stupid unlock number, but I don't care because I can hear it in my head anyway... So I win (ish..)!
And trying to make it see reason is pointless...
Needless to say, am very much looking forward to this. Not least because I may (cough) have played the tiniest of roles in helping connect John and Jem with a certain Death Eater friend of mine who is reputed to appear on the album ;)
As for "Terrestrial", Frost*tastic indeed, with some of the guitars and keyboard textures a throwback to EIMA in the best possible way. Marvellous.
That said, is it just me, but does the YouTube version sound a lot more centred, compressed, and "denser" than the Spotify one? I'm not very good at A-B listening, but the Spotify version sounds a lot airier and open to me. Both are in stereo and both compressed by definition, but the Spotify version is my choice for now.

Can't wait to hear the CD version. I wonder if there's any chance of Day And Age being released in hi-res audio too though :-)
Burning Shed gold vinyl now with signed postcard .. ;D
Which pushed me off the fence ;)

Excellent review...
https://mrkinskimusicshack.com/2021/04/07/frost-day-and-age-album-review/
Really interested that the review speaks of influences from The Police and I'm reminded that John & Jem were talking about The Police a bit in the podcasts recorded during their writing sessions.
Also curious as to why those podcasts disappeared...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTi17du9c3k interview with John and Jem I stumbled on this afternoon! Don't know if anyone else has seen it? :o
excellent find! ;D
There was no fanfare, but an edited 5 minutes of Day and Age is now available to stream ;D
Loving the new songs. Missing hearing Jem's dulcet tones though, I hope we hear a little bit more of him on the whole record!
Fantastic! and what a crazy video!

Agreed – I don't think he gives (well, gave...?) himself enough credit in previous videos, I really like his voice.
A friend once likened it to one the singers in Nine Days (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nine_Days), and I kinda see his point on the more gravelly tracks.

Hi
Further to the earlier email about Frost* 'Day & Age' on CD we have now been told that the replacement CDs will take longer to arrive than we expected and there will probably be a 3 week delay.
By way of apology we will include a free SIGNED postcard with your CD when it ships.
We apologise again for any inconvenience.
:( :( :(
Gold vinyl is on its way from the Shed that Burns... :D
I haven't seen anything but great reviews

Ditto. :'(
Nice to get a signed postcard but suspect I'll have to also purchase a download version on Friday as I'll not be able to last 3 weeks reading all the glowing reviews, etc. Clever marketing ploy Jem! ;)
Just collected from the good folk at Burning Shed...vinyl+CD+signed card, all in tip-top condition ....just upping the vol to 11...again :)
Such a magnificent feast for the ears! This is going to be soooo good to see/hear live #hope
Day & Age track, with the tantalising start of a Jem solo at end fade , still makes me want to hear more ...
Congrats to Frost* - stunning release
Awesome easter egg for long time fans on "The Boy Who Stood Still"... :)

I grinned from ear to ear the first time I heard that ... brilliant one for the Frost•ies, I thought :)

Mitchell told me he reckons it says "Enjoy yourselves", but I don't think he's checked & neither have I :o

Listening to it this morning and that really stopped me in my tracks.
Was there anything like a similar concept in that song and "The Boy Who Stood Still" or has my mind made that up?
Morning all.
Signing in after a fair few years of not! ;D
So how's everyone, radiant hopefully but not in a heated or irradiated manner?
Well the albums a corker but I must admit I had a laugh out loud moment listening last night when I heard this. All those years ago Cameron was gutted that 1976 never made it into a full track or did it? I can't go there here but I may tell you a story about that one day! :-X Anyway I remembered this from all those years ago in a distant age when he was little and didn't have a beard that he kept playing this and now this bit has re appeared in The Boy Who Stood Still.

So cool!!
Music in Widescreen features the album in this podcast with an interview with Jem and John.
Plus they play something from A.C.T's Heatwave EP which I have been playing regularly recently

Hello boys and girls... wow it's been a while. Hope you are all well?
1976, I don't have this (ashamed smiley) - found it on Youtube but is there a downloadable version anywhere?
D&A - Amazon now quoting cheaper than when first released but long delivery. At least I'll get a free download of the Mp3 while I wait!
Slightly off topic - did you know that you can freely stream stuff from "Freegal" which is available through your local library?. When registered this includes 5 track downloads a week (or 10 if your missus/partner also has an account). I'm assuming, and hope that the artists get paid from library funds for this?? Anyway there is a TON of stuff there if you go searching including, I think, everything released by Frost*. The download mp3 sample rate is not brilliant, but streaming is fine for dog walking with headphones, hence why I have not bought the new album yet - but will do.
Welcome back, Brom!!
Hi Rog! :)
RE. 1976 I do have it - doh! - On the DVD - silly me.
heh ;D
Wonder why the track Postcard wasn't included on either the 13 Winters boxset or the new album Day & Age...
Maybe because it didn't fit with the sound of the rest of the album..?

I thought it might be the extra track on the Japanese release but apparently that one is "Storm Driving" ???

Being an incorrigible sucker for elusive single tracks, I broke down and bought one of those copies on eBay last night. Will happily share reactions here, once I receive the disk...
Ooo I'm dying to hear Storm Driving as its currently not available anywhere else! 😃
Enjoy
Physical copy of CD finally arrived today from Burning Shed, along with a signed postcard of the best known line on the album! ;D
me too! (I mean, I 'd been listening on itunes, but that doesn't count) Yay! ;D
Well, I say signed. Pretty sure thats a Jem. And it's definitely a Nathan King. God only knows what the other hieroglyph means
My other copy arrived today complete with signed card. Hurrah and thrice Hurrah!
"Storm Driving" is a gentle little track, pretty underproduced compared to the rest of the album, likening its subject's tendency to evade and ignore external stresses to driving through a storm. Jem on vocals, the whole song sounds like it could be all Jem and no one else. Three minutes, thirty-seven seconds.
For my ears, it fits best between "Skywards" and "Kill the Orchestra" -- a brief calm before the real 16-minute storm that closes the album in fantastically Frosty fashion.
Thank you for the Heads Up - appreciated 8)
Coool.
Any chance of uploading the track somewhere discreetly? 😉
