Greetings, Mr. Strat, from one newbie to another.  I got on here about a month ago.  Trust me on this one, you won't offend anyone here.  Well, not too easily.  :P

Quote from: "rogerg"good stuff again!

but I was busy watching this guy: Airto
 8-)

I saw that guy at one of the Modern Drummer festivals.  He's his own guy: no technique, no formal training...but everything he does has sooooooooooul.  THAT'S drumming. :)

Ladies and genitals, I give you my interpretation of "Milliontown: Two Underground".

Whaddya mean, "He didn't do the whole song"?!   Well, first off, I'm not Andy Edwards.  Secondly, I didn't feeling like editing half-an-hour of video.  Thirdly, I'm not Andy Edwards.  ;)

See if you can spot the little extras. (Hint: I'm also NOT Jem.)  Enjoy, Frostingtons!

It's been over 3 days since catherine's post.  Is she officially a "thread killer"? ;)

Or is it me?

HA!  I like that.  Thank you! :)  I'm tellin' ya, for a one-offer, it was a bear!  TBE's quite the musician to pull this off.

Btw, could someone fill me in on the meaning of "gurning", please.  Thank you. :D

I currently do not have a constant loop of the first section of the 2nd verse of "Pocket Sun" stuck in my head.

Honest.

Okay, okay...  You guys are starting to sound like Paula from American Idol:

"...but you look great!"  LOL

Seriously, thanks for the compliments here, and at YT.  I'd like to do more, but I'd feel horrible about having to break up "Milliontown" into 10-minute video fragments. lol  I'm gonna try to post more original stuff soon.

Okay, and more Frost*iness!

Well, of course, I have an embarrassing attempt at drumming to this song captured on video for dozens of cringing pseudo-fans to view!

Right here!  8-)

Quote from: "Jem"Anyway, you're spot on with Snowman, I put the vocal through a ProTools plug in called Pure Pitch and automated the formant. You can hear it best of all for the "we'll be the same" line right at the end.
....by quoting lyrics from a different song altogether, Jem cleverly points out here that the same technique is also used on the track "Wedding Day" from the Tour CD. ;)

LOL  Okay, so I'm not going completely mad here.  I spent the last two days wracking my brain and ripping apart the CD booklet for these seemingly non-existent lyrics...

"Where are these *BLEEPITY-BLEEP* lyrics in 'Snowman'??  What is he talking about?!?!"

Guess it's time to go beyond studio efforts into the live stuff/B-sides/outtakes.  If I'm not back in an hour, just carry on as you were.  8-)

Quote from: "Jem"Hello hello!

Thank you for the kindly words about that first album. Seems like such a long time ago now...

Anyway, you're spot on with Snowman, I put the vocal through a ProTools plug in called Pure Pitch and automated the formant. You can hear it best of all for the "we'll be the same" line right at the end. Glad you picked up on it supposing to be sad, that's exactly the effect I was after.  :D , oh sorry, hang on,

The stops in NMNY were just that, I literally just grabbed a whole chunk of audio and hit delete. Voila! Blessed silence. Something some people reckon there should be more of on Frost records.  ;)

Hey!  There will be none of that self-degradation stuff goin' on here, my good man.  That's my job.    You're quite the ballsy one wantonly deleting audio like that. lol  Sorry, just have nightmares of doing that in Adobe Audition, regretting it, then recovering it, and discovering the "recovered" track was full of artifacts.  Ack!

Wow, has it really been three years???  Time's fun when you're having flies.  8-)  Thanks for the response, Jem.  Looking forward to more Frost* Reports.

EVP...  Howzit goin', eh?  :P Couldn't resist.  Yes, I love mucking around with effects.  Being the anal-retentive nerd that I am, I could spend all day on one track diddling with chorus, phaser, distortion, delay, etc.  Nothing get's done in my version of "The Cube".
