Dammit - just catching up with the last few EIMA podcasts - now I want to get the Owsley albums (just ordered them!!!!) but can't get 'The Semantics - Powerbill' anywhere.
Anyone know of anywhere with a reasonable priced copy, or download ?????

Addendum - Fear Not!!! I've located a copy at the trusty X Records in Bolton. I hereby thoroughly recommend them (again) as they have lots of very obscure and hard to get hold of things - just don't try and email an order through at the moment as their email host seems to be on the blink!!!!!!

I'm so pleased to hear that, Mooncat! Owsley was one of the greatest unknowns in power pop. Another genius gone too soon. "Powerbill" was only released in Japan, so it can be tough to come by. I got my copy via eBay auction.

For anyone attending this evening, I recommend arriving 5-10 minutes early to assure you get a good seat, but also because sometimes the show starts before the top of the hour and you won't want to miss a minute of it.

I do hope you'll join us for the chat. It's going to be a fun show.

Cheers and Happy New Yeers!

Loved it - a great idea - kudos to gr8gonzo and, of course, Jem.

My extended HNY message can be heard here (//http://www.box.net/shared/l238iq681r) if anyone's interested. It started life as just the first bit....but then Gonzo said it could be a bit longer....so I took a mile! ;)

I went jogging this morning, listening to my ipod with the last night EIMA on it  8-)
Unfortunately, Jem singing "Her name was Lola" took me by surprise : I had to laugh a lot, which is not good for jogging  :D
Next time, I'll listen to the show as usual : in my chair, with a glass of local product.

Re Dave Lee Roth
Was having a conversation at work (cue spit the dog) the other day & I said I'd seen DLR at St George's Hall, Bradford, possibly mid '90's. Mate being immensely jealous tried checking this out and couldn't find anything on t'old webbynet.  Anyone around this neck of the woods verify that?
We'd started talking about Vai & I said I thought I might have seen him with DLR on that tour, before I knew who he was

Vai wasn't with Roth in the mid 90's, Vai was with Roth in the mid to late 80's. Roth played Donnington in 88 with Vai on guitar not sure if he played any other gigs around that time

I downloaded the file and it was playing fine then abruptly stopped as Matt said just after 26minute mark after "Oh my God" while Gonzo is speaking.  Tried importing the file into Adobe Audition editing software but it just threw up and error saying it was unable to read the file.  Does seem that maybe the file was corrupted on upload.

It used to play ok, but it obviously suffered on being transferred to my latest iMac. I still have my previous two computers, but I don't have time to check them until next week. Sorry   :-[

*tap tap* Is this thing on again? *cough*

Hello again all. I have just uncovered a DVD I made from my old computer whilst this show was on. It starts during track 10 with me farting around with my desktop getting everything up and running, including the chat window :) I can’t remember how long I recorded for but I’ll find out soon and update this post. [2.5 hrs Ed.]

If I can get my PC to let me do some FTP I’ll be sending a copy to Drarok for his voluminous virtual tote bag of Frost* memorabilia, in case it’s of interest to anyone and/or I lose it again.

In the spirit of discovering old stuff lying around in dusty computer corners, I found a copy of my New Year's message from that show and, since the link I posted way back then is now dead, I just uploaded it to Soundcloud, here (https://soundcloud.com/user9295287/pedro_madder_newyear_message).

*tap tap* Is this thing on again? *cough*

Hello again all. I have just uncovered a DVD I made from my old computer whilst this show was on. It starts during track 10 with me farting around with my desktop getting everything up and running, including the chat window :) I can't remember how long I recorded for but I'll find out soon and update this post. [2.5 hrs Ed.]

If I can get my PC to let me do some FTP I'll be sending a copy to Drarok for his voluminous virtual tote bag of Frost* memorabilia, in case it's of interest to anyone and/or I lose it again.

That would be great, Smart. I've had a fair few requests for that show, which was sadly lost in the great PC snafu of 2013. I'm pretty certain someone has that episode, just not anyone who is likely to pop in here. Happy to be wrong.

Still epic. ;D
