Gigs / Fantasy setlists
May 17, 2021, 01:38:08 PM
Hello all!

So the new album has been out for 3 days! It got me thinking with the hope Frost* may do some live shows in the future all being well! I wondered what the set list could look like now their catalogue has expanded significantly with both Others and Day and Age. What would you like a set list to look like?

Thought it'd be a bit of fun!  ;D No speculations.

As it's been over a year since Falling Satellites was released I really have to know.... what was the extra song that was put on the Vinyl version? I only bought the CD version and I really want to know what was added!  :o

Can anyone enlighten me?  It would be most appreciated!

Many thanks!  ;D

Hello!

Yes I know it probably seems odd of me to ask about It Bites B-Sides on here, but as my forum account on the It Bites website is not completely sorted yet I figured I should ask any of you lovely Frosties where I may be able to locate the little devils!

I do already have all the JM era B-Sides, I'm just more interested in the classic B-sides. I do already have ones from the 'Calling All The Heros' compilation but I know theres a few more and its bloody hard to find them anywhere really!

Could anyone be so kind as to point me in the right direction?  :)

Other Bands / The Tangent Le Sacre Du Travail
June 21, 2013, 06:53:34 PM
All this 'pularver' at Celebr8.2 got me looking into The Tangent as I'd never heard anything from them before.
A month later I have purchased 3 albums from their back catalogue and have just received the latest album today!
Certainly sounds different in a good way! Really enjoying it!  :)

Anybody else bought the latest work from Mr Tillison?

Can anyone get me up to speed on what happened to these guys of late?

I know that Dec is no longer in the band but was wondering if anything else have gone on since? They're a really great band!

Also does anyone know where I can find a copy of Eyes Of The World anywhere physical or digital? It seems like gold dust to find it anywhere!

Any Other Business / Piano Clinics?
June 04, 2013, 04:40:08 PM
Anyone know if such things exist?

I've been to a couple of Blunders's drum clinics, as my mate is a drummer and appreciates that sort of thing obviously! As well as my own genuine curiosity of the music production side of things he does, and I really enjoy watching it, its so interesting!

I was wondering as an amateur keyboardist... if any Piano clinics take place around the UK at all? Can't seem to find anything much around the net... probably because I'm looking in the wrong place!

Help would be appreciated!

:D

Frost* / When did you first discover Frost*?
March 17, 2013, 06:52:07 PM
A pure curiosity topic than anything! Apologies if this sort of topic has already been posted before, I haven't seen anything, so just humour me!  :)

I'm quite a late comer in terms of Frost*. I first listened to Frost* in 2011. I'd been quite nieve with music up to then and since I left Uni I wanted to delve further and see what brilliant talent I could find! Also I hate the mainstream, but thats another story!

I was looking through John Mitchell's biography on Wikipedia or something, I'm a big It Bites and have listened to them since High School. I was interested in what else John had been in and the first thing I probably listened to upon seeing his list was Kino. I gave them a listen and loved it and since then I got the album. Then I noticed Frost*, I'd never really of them up to this point so I gave them a listen on spotify and the rest is history!

So I was just wondering when you first discovered Frost*?

Other Bands / The Flower Kings and Neal Morse Band
March 10, 2013, 12:00:06 PM
Did anyone else here get to watch this incredible gig?

Was my first gig with Neal Morse in, and honestly I was blown away with his performance! It was almost unreal!

The Flower Kings played a brilliant start to the show, its just a shame they couldn't have played a longer set but that probably has something to do with the damn curfew we have to endure. However it was still a brilliant start all the same!

Then Neal Morse steps in blasts out phenomenal prog our way! Now I haven't heard many of his solo albums apart from Momentum but boy after this show I think its fair to say my music collection is about to get another bulk of Neal Morse albums!

And THEN Transatlantic encore, and just WOW! All of the Neal Morse Band and The Flower Kings all on the stage at the same time playing some brilliant classic Transatlantic to bring an EPIC ending to an unforgettable night!

My ears are still ringing to this moment! I got to stand at the very front through the whole thing!  :D Definitely one of the best gigs I have been to in my life!  :)

Ok so this is a bit of a thoughts and feelings blog.... so anyone not into that stuff I'd advise to press back now  ;)

Ok so at the beginning of this year I started learning to play the piano for the first time, something I've wanted to do for a long time but never really got the chance to do, due to having 2 autistic siblings, it was difficult for me and my parents to find the time and also neither of them have any musical background at all. I'm not looking for sympathy or anything, but I just wanted to show why I wasn't able to play from an earlier age.

I'm now 23 and been playing for a good near 8 months, and I have to say I LOVE playing it! And since then I've bought myself a Korg Digital Piano and started lessons in singing and music production... Ok where do the last 2 things fit in? You may be asking...

Well since I started learning the piano, I became more interested in the 'making of' side of making music. But it makes me think 'I wish I could have learned all this years ago!' You read about a lot of musicians these days and how they all started at an early age, which never really gives me a lot of confidence. However I watch the likes of Frost* Reports and they are truly inspiring to watch! And I don't mean this in a biased way... but watching Mr Godfrey work his magic into the songs for me is a really inspiring thing. To watch someone doing what he loves doing best, makes me want to keep learning and keep on aiming for my own goal.

My goal of which is just to be able to make songs that I can perform in front of an audience. Simple as that, just to genuinely make some music of my own creation. I would love to form a band, nothing massive just a local band and just for fun. I want to be able to do this before hitting 30 at least...

Is anyone else here in the Frost* world in a similar situation to this? Or perhaps anyone could share their wisdom in this matter? Does anyone think I'm being too ambitious in this late start in music?

I'm not looking for anyone to tell me how to cut corners as I want to learn the proper way!  ;) I know full well that this will take a lot of time and patience. But I would love to hear your thoughts in this matter!

Thank you for your time  :)

Toys / Off chance of finding certain Frost* tracks...
October 22, 2012, 10:32:33 PM
Another question within about a week!

Ok for this one it is a bit of an old subject but I've never been able to get hold of these tracks, but I believe its off the Rosfest CD I think? The one with Here is The News, Raining In My Heart, Snowman, The Forget You Song and so on. I was wondering if there was any chance of getting hold of these songs some how? I realise theres no chance of getting the CD nower days but really would love to get a copy of those songs as I am missing out on them badly.

If anyone could help me out, would really appreciate it  :)

Gear Corner / Synth enquiry
October 19, 2012, 08:15:09 PM
This is a question from an amateur so please bear with me  :D

I'm trying to look for a synth that has any sort of 'pre-loaded' sounds/ samples with a 'twinkly star' feel if that makes any kind of sense at all?

Would anyone know of any such thing? If anything like that exists at all? If anyone does would love to hear suggestions (preferably free  :P )
