Sat 26th Nov - Walter Trout & Popa Chubby

Walter Trout, is one of the world's great guitarists. The former lead guitar player with John Mayall Blues Breakers, Canned Heat and John Lee Hooker recently celebrated his 20th year as a solo recording artist in his own right with the chart busting album 'Common Ground'.

Trout who also reached the top of the Blues charts with the all star 'Full Circle' album and the follow up 'The Outsider' has been touring the world – including India, Russia Europe and the States. His live shows are mesmerising, his guitar technique dazzling and his rapport with fans both funny and intense.

Popa Chubby is an outrageous blues guitarist and larger than life performer from New York's Bronx. From Hard Rocking Street Blues to full-tilt boogie Popa Chubby's material covers the full spectrum of styles.

Hebden Bridge is a very wholesome place.
Or is that Wholefood.
It's full of hippos. I mean hippies.

Walter and the band have been in the studio creating their newest musical statement: 78 minutes of blistering Blues Rock. Walter wanted the CD to re-create the energy and the passion that he generates live. In the new Bio, Walter is quoted as saying:

"I thought it would be exciting to make a blues album now," Trout explains. "I liked the idea of capturing the energy of my touring band playing live in the studio, and in terms of subject matter, the state of the world is perfect for writing blues songs."

Walter dug deep into his own feelings about the times we live in. From the title track the lyrics read:

Ain't nothin' left to give / These times in which we live / It's dog eat dog / In the modern daze / Now hear the people call: / We're headin' for a fall / It's all for one / And none for all / It's none for all / In the modern daze

The CD will be released April 23/24 Europe/USA and an extensive touring schedule in the USA follows.
