Title: Well this is nice.
Post by: Jem on November 07, 2008, 12:14:06 PM
I've got the same feeling you get when you take on new premises. I think I'll go and explore that garden. Where should we put the water tower?

Around the outside edge of the water?

I like what you've done with the place - and the biscuit-like smilies  :D

Huh, it does look nice. Got any archive of the old posts? Still starting from zero just as the website is reborn(looking good as well) and EIMA is around the corner sounds strangely appropriate. Either way, good job!

P.S. The main page doesn't wake up my brother every time I load it anymore, why remove that brilliant feature?

Perhaps we should re-create the old topics, one by one, and let everyone re-post in the same order and all...  ;)

A new home. What shall become of the old one?

We could always do some mix-and-matching. Create a couple of bastard childs from the old threads   no use in reliving the past I guess.

Is it battered and fried or still swimming round the water tower?

Hello!!... start as you mean to go on (and on and on and ...) that's my motto.

I'm looking forward to the official christening of this website... ohh look look you can even choose the colour of the font.

OK I'll get my coat.

Very nice, with new toys too (some of them, no?)

Question about ordering EIMA direct from here: is that ultimately any different from ordering it via CRS (which I have done already, of course)? More love and filthy lucre going to you this way, for example?

Not that you're fooling me into buying it twice, you rapscallions (at least not until I've heard it and realise I need a copy for the car too , as well as several for Crimbo prezzies :D)

Never mind that....

A Derail or Derailer is a device used to prevent fouling of a track by unauthorized movements of trains or unattended rolling stock. It works (as the name suggests) by derailing the equipment as it rolls over or through the derail.
Although accidental derailment is damaging to equipment and track, and requires considerable time and expense to remedy, derails are used in situations where allowing equipment to proceed risks worse damage to equipment and potential injury or death may occur than if it is derailed at the spot.

Does anyone mind if I christen the site with it's first 'fuck'? (see the New Shop thread)

Obviously I won't, if it would cause offense, or perhaps tarnish the new shinyness of the lerverley site.

on the individual headings, white is for new posts, grey read, and a sort of bluey/silvery/grey is one you've posted on

Hello all.

My, you've all been busy. I went to the old address and found out no-one was "home". I couldn't even see anyone hiding behind the sofa.

I also forgot where I put my avatar. "Finder" search doesn't work when you don't turn the external drive on :?  :?  :?

A .jeg is definitely not a valid file type. :D jpg, jpeg or gif might be though. Oh and there's certain limits now for resolution and/or size in kb.

Cripes!! There I have been, travelling along in my comfortable but slighlty old) limo and then had to park up for a whilst I sorted out some stuff. And then, I came back to head off again and what did I find? WOW! Some apprentice panel beater has only taken a hammer to it and now I have a lovely Aston Martin in a beautiful silver colour.

That's what I think about how the new site looks - and it's a great drive so far. Lots to see and an open road ahead. And, in a couple of weeks, I'll be able to annoy the person next to me at the traffic lights with a full blast of EIMA. When I say 'annoy'......read 'delight'!!

Thanks to all. (Oddly, posted somewhere else as well in error!) Must learn to concentrate!

It sure is nice to be back with the lovely Frost*ies. It's been so long since I set foot on the old forum (for a large number of reasons, the main one being that my presence at the Christmas Bash was being threatened and it was too depressing to be on the forum - but things might be looking up now!) that I've forgotten what rank I was before I returned to crumb-hood. So I'm not quite as saddened by my demotion as some of you must be!
*offering hugs to all the grand posters*

This place looks brilliant, by the way, I bow down before everyone who was invlovled with this spectacular transformation! I kept trying the web page and getting that revolving asterisk and deafening Frost*ie music - scared me half to death every time, I never learn.

I've missed you all a lot, though! How's everyone doing?

Welcome, Philadelphia! So glad you're here :)
And It'd be lovely if you made it to the Peel - I missed you on the last round of gigs, so it'd be grand to meet ya.

Welcome back!  I'd been wondering where you'd got to after being such a regular contributor and the one who'd got to almost as many gigs last summer as the band did (probably more in JM's case...  ;) ).

Thanks!

I might have beat JM, but I'm sure there were Frost*ies who got to more gigs than I did, though. (;-)

Hello Philadelphia, welcome back :)
Are you the Frost*ie that went to the Porcupine Tree gig(s?) in Tilburg? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Title: Re: Well this is nice.
Post by: Philadelphia on November 09, 2008, 06:07:05 PM
Indeed I did! Tilburg and London, lovely gigs. Particularly the second Tilburg one!
Tilburg was a blast - and completely progified! There were prog t-shirts all over town those two days, and everywhere you went someone was talking about PT. I saw Arjen Lucassen at my hotel and when I got back to my room one night the people in the room next to mine were listening to No-Man.
But the coolest thing was after the second gig when I was hanging around the merch, talking to some friends. I saw a man in a Frost* t-shirt and nudged him and complimented him on the fine piece of couture he was wearing. It turned out he was from the UK and he asked me if I'd seen Frost* this summer. I confirmed that I had, and he asked me if I'd been at the London one. It turned out that he was the first person I talked to when I got to the venue there, he'd been standing outside in a The Flower Kings t-shirt and we'd talked a bit before queueing up. The Frost*ies are everywhere!

Went to both gigs as well, amazing! The sound was really good.  Did you see it when Stevens mic fell the first night? :P
And I've seen Arjen Lucassen too - damn he's just too big  Didn't see the Frost*ie though. And I was wearing my Frost* shirt as well :)
Where were you standing by the way?

I think I may have been the only person there who didn't see Steven's mic fall! But on the first night I was off to the far left, by Wes, so maybe that's why I missed it!  The second night I was... in front of Gavin, I think.
*sigh* I bet they're going to include footage of me crying like a little girl during Dark Matter on the DVD. (:-/

Were you standing in the front row or what? I was at the front of Colin both nights, front row.
You were crying while they filmed you? It's not that bad... We were doing a tropical dance during Sleep Together when they started filming us

Yeah, front row both nights.
A tropical dance, you say? I can definitely picture that working towards the end of Sleep Together when those funky strings start playing...

Well, you're already immortalized in the Manchester Frost* bootleg!

"Jem, you promised me!"

"Are you the father of someone's child we should know about?"

I have no idea what you're referring to.
Oh, look! A biscuit!

First day - not long at all. Second day - a few hours. Me and my friend were fourth and fifth in queue but once they opened the doors people went crazy and my friend got in after... ten, or so, others had gone in, but I got pressed up against the door and couldn't get anywhere for a while. Not pleasant.

Same here on both days... Strange I didn't see you. I was standing behind you I think the second day :P
