AHH! LOVE The New Logo!! Also Love how it was unveiled bits at a time Via the Calendar! Excellent work with said calendar btw! ;) BTW, I WILL Build a Catherine Wheel and Recreate a Pyrotechnic Version of the Logo! 8-)

Agreed, Fogey. The two fonts together prompted me to describe it as Batman: The Next Generation, with the swirling dust reminding me a bit of the stuff that comes out of The Doctor when he regenerates. There's also a computer-y aspect to it, which I imagine will lend itself well to the new Frost* sound.
Loving the new logo. HAs already made it to both phone and laptop as wallpaper, and can see it makeing some nice tshirts.
If only there was someone in our midst with a tshirt/merchandise business that could make these thoughts a reality ;) ;)
not to give away Vitamin P's wild trade secrets, but never mind that, did you know that swirly dust is actually a fractal most likely generated using a program called Apophysis (//http://www.webdesignerdepot.com/2009/01/40-amazing-3d-fractals-using-apophysis/)? it's really a neat tool, and i got all giddy with excitement when i saw Vit P had used it in the new Frost* logo. and did a damn tasteful job of it as well!

If it does make its way onto a T-shirt (If? If?!), I'd love to see it on material other than black (the base colour of every prog shirt in the world :lol: ). Maybe white, or a nice cool blue? I reckon it would still look ace on lighter backgrounds. :)

Re t-shirt colours - frost have over the years produced many different coloured shirts (my own fave being the white with black sleeves!!)
Also noticed yesterday that the new logo is a 'progression' from the one on the original EIMA shirts (I've got the blue with big yellow frosterisk on the front).
I'd also like to put in a vote for some more of the 'faux' long sleeve shirts (the ones which look like a regular tshirt over the top of a different coloured long sleeve shirt) 8-)

Are you sure?? To me it's either a screendump from the Hadron Collider or it was inspired by the accidental placement of an LED key ring in a washing machine. ;) :D

Like the new logo a lot although it has a decidedly computergame / Xbox / PS3 vibe to it. It is something that I somehow associated with those "Colinwhatshisname" rally driver games
Hey everyone! My name is Anton and I write these letters from a cold and snowy Russian depths! Excuse me for my English it is far from perfection.
So I really like the new logo. Looks cool 8-) But one thing bugs me about it. Few weeks after I saw it one of my friends in facebook (she is a dupstep fan ) puts a link to the band called AllDegrees. Song was Quasar. Here it is on the youtube.

As you can see it's very similar to Frost* new logo.
But it was a surprise to me when I turned that image upside-down and mirrored it.

It's the SAME fractal pattern or whatever it is. Same circle in the middle. Just a different colour.
And it seems like this dupstep band realised album in 2011-11-15 the time when maybe frost logo was designed.
So I just want to know if this is OK or not? Mr. Jem maybe you overpaid for the design? ;)

My guess is that the "fractal" image, or whatever is, is just a stock image somewhere that VitaminP (the designer) has re-purposed for the logo.
I'm not really sure if the swirly bit is part of the logo, or the circle for that matter. Maybe the logo is just the "F"?
I suppose it is like when someone writes a piece of music and someone else spots that it sounds like another piece.
Or, like has happened with tracks on Milliontown, Jem has used an audio sample from somewhere and someone else has heard it used elsewhere. I guess this just happens from time to time.

Yeah this is *very* common. And I agree that the logo is probably either just the F or and F with a circle around it.
I have a weird relationship with dubstep. I like it but can never listen to it for more than a few seconds at a time. I think of it rather like E.S.'s synth porn.

Was my first thought too. But you know I think if both images were made by one guy (and the way the fractal image was changed gives me that idea) he kinda cheated. Because both images are album covers(?) for the music groups. Even if it's not a part of the final version of the image, it's there, on bands official page. It's not my idea of a perfect designer work. I know it's not a big deal though.
But you know it was just one of those weird coincidences to share) It was one chance in a million that I would see that other picture)))
