A bit early in the year for this but DPRP are running this already
1 Grace For Drowning - Steven Wilson
2 Visions - Haken
3 A Tower Of Silence - Anubis
4 War and Peace and Other Stories - Sean Filkins
5 Snowtorch - Phideaux
6 A Dramatic Turn Of Events - Dream Theater
7 When Age Has Done It's Duty - Cosmograf
8 Fables of the Sleepless Empire - Unexpect
9 Bilateral - Leprous
10 Testimony 2 - Neal Morse
I guess I'm out of touch with prog when there are only two of them I even knew existed.

You mean Grace for Drowning and A Dramatic Turn of Events? likewise.
I mean Testimony 2 and "A dramatic change of drummers".
No Opeth? Yes the metal fans didn't like it but the prog fans?
Loved it.
Perhaps we could put our own list together? Using the poll feature or something. I often take this forums opinion to heart (e.g. Haken, It Bites) so it could be beneficial to all. I've not listened to 80% of that list though so couldn't possibly comment.
Personally I would've gotten Pain of Salvation and Beardfish up there too (Very anti-swede list btw) :D

I do hope it was you who slipped that grocer's apostrophe (//http://walkinthewords.blogspot.com/2009/05/grocers-apostrophe.html) in there, and not DPRP. Or Cosmograf!!

Bloomin' 'eck, Tin Spirits was this year too? I must check thoroughly before I make any sort of list (and listen to a few I haven't heard yet).
Tin Spirits, Dec, Lazuli, Phideaux and Beardfish have all released excellent long playing records that I recommend to anyone. And Matt Stevens. And SW. And...

Steve Hackett
Some good albums mentioned so far but two of my favourites not mentioned would be -
Touchstone - The City Sleeps
Foo Fighters - Wasting Light

Didn't that Manning fella release something this year, too? He usually does....
Yes, but I heard the drumming wasn't up to much
And you shall know us by... "trail of the dead" was good too. And of course Glitterball by Pedro ( guest band Magenta) should surely be #1
Pendragon Passion was this year? That would be mine.
Selling England By The Pound!

Well, it's probably one of the best album you've listened to this year... :D
Milliontown!
I just started my own record company and released it on a limited license only to myself, money exchanged hands and the album is now officially sold. So it counts as 2011. :D
Right? :?
Seventh degree of separation - Arena
Could be straight in at No. 1

It is for me! Really dark but still melodic as a melodic melody and all that.......Wonderfull album. 13 tracks, 56 minutes, it rocks from track to track. JJ & JM both contributed to the writing of various tracks.
Controversial - but I thought the yes album was pretty good.

Oh yeah, but some tosser buggered around with the mix, ruined the proper contributors' hard work... ;)
I managed to listen to
The Octopus by Amplifier last night (just) and it was very good indeed. Still need to catch up on Hackett and Touchstone!
