Naturally we all trust the band to do what is right with Frost* 3 but I though it might be fun to make a little wishlist of things we would like to feature in the next album. I'm wary this might turn into "be more like the first album" so lets keep it light hearted. Perhaps when the album is released we can see how many things we managed to predict correctly :D
I would like to open with a couple:
1. Warm, reverb drenched E-Piano ala Subterranean Homesick Blues by Radiohead.
2. Served with hot custard.
Some more of the most emotive solo's in my entire music collection (Namely guitar solo from EIMA and Synth solo from Falling Down)
And maybe more of an acquired taste but I love stream of conscious lyrics.
Given Blunders ability to both play and program some of the Roland drummy bits I'd like to hear some of the ideas from the Dec 2010 gigs mirrored - I'm thinking particularly some of the D&B style bits that were used as intro's etc to give contrast to the overall sound.
(Although the BLM tour had some cracking examples, my brain keeps going back to the start of 'The Other Me' from TPE, which I know isn't that fast/technical etc but is the sort of thing I mean.)
If that makes sens
I'd love to see them pull off a cover of Waterloo by ABBA done in the style of Joy Division. Failing that Joy Division's Love will tear us apart in the style of The Anti Nowhere League.

I would also predict that nothing like the above happens...........

Now we're talking! One for the Twats in Hats perhaps?
A short instrumental where the lads d,ont play their regular instrument i.e Craig on lead,Nathan on drums etc.could be interesting... :)

That would definitely be a treat live!
Really curious about Blunders and his electronic side of drumming. Or rather just excited about his drumming in general, the guy is fab! :D
The only thing we know is it'll be different, but with those guys involved it will still sound F*** no matter what. :)
A biscuit suite.

Aww, my damn country. We don't have any of those so it'll be impossible to start a cover band.

How does one tune a hobnob? If it involves nibbling bits off it must be dangerous... "nibbled a bit too much, might as well eat it all now and try again on another" (and repeat)
I suspect the whole track will be very dangerous to record... Flying biscuit bit injuries! Having to eat and replace all the broken ones after every few beats! Not to mention the cleaning bill! :)
All in a day's work for Frost*
Whilst reading the latest posts on this forum, it suddenly occurred to me that I have about a million better things to do with my time than to follow this bunch.
They say a fish rots from the head down......and in this case I have to say it definitely applies. Jem is an extremely gifted chap with some good ideas here and there, but he is all over the place, changes his mind from minute to minute, and doesn't seem to take a thing seriously......and his handful of 20 rabid followers on here who post this mindless drivel just feed the beast. Look at yourself people......the posts are rediculous and completely without substance. Is that really all you have to do with your time is to sit on here and go back and forth about bisquits, waiting for Jem to blather about his latest change of heart?
Frost MAY come out with album number 3......and whatever it is, MC hammer chopped up mess, some 20 dollar Casio through a megaphone, or a full blow choir of turtles singing background vocals, you will all love it.....cause it is Jem.
An odd bunch for sure.....i am out.
"a million things", "fish rot from the head".
oh boy. no one is requiring you to like any of it. some people do, some people don't. glad you had your say? I'm sure you spend all your time in erudite discussion. do you ever just hang out with friends and get a bit silly?
nah, nevermind.
As always, don't feed 'em.

Way ahead of you sir. *brushes the crumbs away and looking innocent*
I think what I'm most looking forward too is the difference Blunders and his grasp on drum/music technology will make.

THIS.
Also, for some reason, I have this song (//http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTpUVAcvWfU) in my head.
Glad to read that it'll (hopfeully) be more of a "band" vibe this time.
Also my wishlist is thus - if Jem's happy then I'll be happy.

Seriously, don't.
It's mickdo in disguise, he'll go away and troll someone else.
Last time I looked we had more forum members than Arena(rec)
There was something familiar about the style of insult.
Anyhoo, how do you think the vocal balance will be this time? Even more Mitchell tastic? Possibly Nathan as well?
I like EIMA, a little of everyone. :)
Quote from: "johninblack"I think what I'm most looking forward too is the difference Blunders and his grasp on drum/music technology will make.
Yes, but more importantly, what biscuits will the other band members bring to the songwriting?
Coming from Reading, it's reasonable to assume JM will provide the Hob nobs, but what about the others?

So long as someone remembers the Fox's Golden Crunch Creams all will go well but it's important to make sure the boring plain biscuits don't take over. Just my opinion of course. :D
oooh what HAVE I missed? Nice to see the forum at large is as daft as ever :D :D :D
If you read the blog, you've missed nothing. . .

Can you get them in Rema 1000? I went in one of those when I went to Bergen in...the last decade sometime.
I have to say I don't want sampled biscuits. I want live biscuits, played until destruction. It may mean the album lasts only 40 seconds or so, but, hey, it'll give the whole thing a unique feel. Maybe if the biscuits are kept in their wrappers they could last a bit longer? Imagine an entire packet of all butter shortbread fingers given the Blunders bass drum treatment!

Pleased to clear that mystery up for you Pedro , old chap.
Looks like Blunders' input is much anticipated by many. I too can't wait to hear what comes of it. What with the almost drum and bass style riffs from TDL (reminds me somewhat of pendulum in places) and the drum & bass section in the song that that must not be named I feel this more diverse sound is something that is likely to develop, and I for one can't wait to hear what it leads to.
Very exciting indeed :)
Anything resembling Pendulum is more than welcome in my book. :D

Nah....I live on! Just hanging out to see if any else's light bulb comes on. Besides, mindless blather about bisquits and cookies is such a constructive way to chew up time waiting for something of substance to happen.
The mindless blather is a harmless thing to do while the tide's out.
It's optional, no one will mind if you don't join in. :)
Speaking of that, Pedders.. what's your favourite hat?
I'm glad you asked me that...for listening to music it would be a Trill-B...least favourite...flat cap :)

Quote from: "Pedro"I'm glad you asked me that...for listening to music it would be a Trill-B...least favourite...flat cap :)
Flat caps? They really p*** me off. Particularly when worn by men in cars, ie driving.
a) What's the point?
b) They drive at 25 mph
c) They clearly don't know where they're going without their wife to yell at them at the last minute, so you have to follow them (slowly) from miles behind.
And while I'm on the subject of driving clearly Audi have a quality control problem because none of their indicators work.

I think it's endemic in German cars, as I've witnessed the same issue on BMWs.
Mind you, my VW seems fine. At least, it does on the inside....
Or any cars bought by women, or taxi drivers........go on then white van men.
Something I used to use as a bit of a laugh whilst training drivers, never trust anyone who wears a hat whilst driving;
Old codgers in flat 'ats
Old women in flowery 'ats
young idiots in baseball caps
& UPS drivers in 'ats
Do your indicators work, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no (as written on a form 25 years ago by an Interlink driver, still makes me smile)

I vaguely recall Jem saying that he'd asked to make sweet music with her many years ago but she'd turned him down. Or did he mean something different?
And Hippo, be careful of BMW drivers: they sometimes wander onto the forum! In fact there's one chap who plays the piano who had a video of him wearing a flat cap  not in said Beemer I should note (ps you're right. And VW's work fine)

Welcome to the boards Fats!
There isn't an official ETA as far as i know. My best guess would be 'next year'. I would expect the whole process to take the best part of a year and since the writing process hasn't really hit full steam yet due to Jem having to pay his bills I would hazard a guess at mid 2013 if we're lucky.
Anyone else willing to make a stab in the dark?
