anyone got any thoughts on  this please?

My younger son is very keen on one for Christmas.
I used to think myself lucky if I got a lump of coal, etc, etc.

I got my eyes on it too but I've never had the chanche to try it... :S
You talk
You think you own me
You miss the point completely
These things I do they\'re not for you
I\'m sick and I\'m tired
Leave me alone...

I like the look of this little toy!, I've seen a couple of demos on the web. My fiirst thoughts were, groove generator and drum machine with very tweakable effects. As for note to note precision for melody/chords etc , I'm not  so sure. But it's not designed for that anyway.

For a hundred quid it looks like a very nice toy... I will definitely be considering getting one myself.

If not I'll settle for a hundredweight of anthracite instead  :D

Has he got a Nintendo DS? If so, check out KORG DS 10

A little more advanced than a kaossilator, but a good introduction to analogue synthesis!

And it's actually very very versatile for somehting for a handheld console, and sounds pretty damn close to the original synth, and has some nifty features. Awesome for the glitchheads and chipchoon lovers like me, and it's a great way to learn about different synthesis techniques. It's been making me think laterally, and it really is like being back in the day, though I wasnt around, where you had two oscillators and a drum machine and you're left to your devices to utilize these to their maximum potential.

My boyfriend is a god for getting this for my birthday  :D

By the way, I'm already doing a version of Toys on this thing xD

The Korg DS-10 looks excellent.
Oliver is now completely converted to wanting one of those. He doesn't have a Nintendo DS, so he wants one of those as well.
