The "Making Of" slightly reminded me some other very exciting Reports... if you know what I mean  ;D

Gear Corner / Rythmicon

You probably know the ondes Martenot and the theremin...
Did you hear about the 1932's Rythmicon?
The first rhythm machine ever built :

Any Other Business / Matt Bioul's english accent
March 31, 2010, 01:04:27 PM
I just heard a singer on the radio: Matt Bioul, a Belgian guy who sings in English.
The speaker said it sounded like English pop ...

The song is Waiting For The Sun :
http://www.myspace.com/mattbioul

Yes, there is indeed the Mellotron-flute-cliché!
But I have a question to you British guys, what do you think of his accent?
Do people really say "waidin' for the sun" in Oxford?

Gear Corner / "Jem's lovely chords" score
February 22, 2009, 01:22:55 PM
On the 1st Roland video "Jeremy Godfrey on Fantom-G", Jem plays a few chords with a beautiful choir sound :
Listen to Jem's chords

The video :
Youtube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMjhXCkpC0Y
Same one, better sound on Roland's Website : http://www.roland.com/demos/en/i0088/index.html

...but I think his playing does a lot : even with my antique Kawai K1 Fairlight-like Aah sound, those chords sound very nice.
I do think Jem would make a Bontempi sound gorgeous

My attempt to transcribe (edit : thanks Catherine! ) :

Other Bands / Camel

I don't know well this band, but I saw a few vids on Youtube.
As you Frosties* are so skilled in prog music, I have to ask : what album should I buy first?

Thanks!

Other Bands / Saga
February 06, 2009, 12:31:01 PM
I had'nt listen to Saga for years, I discovered their latest albums.
It seems they managed to keep their personality and still evolve.

It's cool to hear progressive music without mellotron and dragon's stories

I think frosties* may like it, who knows ?
Here are a few short samples from the 2003' album Trust :

That's As Far As I'll Go :

Gear Corner / Gorgeous synth sound
February 02, 2009, 01:30:51 PM
Does anyone know what type of synth makes this sound?
(Guess where I heard it   )

Although I'm a guitarist, I play keys a little. I'd like to get close to this fabulous sound with some vsti - certainly not with my 88' Kawai K1
