On the front page, as you've no doubt all seen ...
Ah, 25 days of festive pleasure ahead, interspersed with one very special night on the 16th ... ;)
It's a work of genius and the architect should be congratulated!
It's good.
It's very good.
It's very, very good! :D
I was only thinking about that this morning.
Never thought to look ont web.
Marvelloususus
Its Genius. x
The design is just gorgeous. And the content... oh, so Frost*ie. Love it. :D
Ooooh! Me likey Advent calendar thingies :D
Much, much fun!! Thanks to all involved!!
Wait, there's a front page?
Quote from: "ich_bin_besser"Wait, there's a front page?
Yup, been there for ages. Just click somewhere in the Frost/audio wave picture at the top of the page :)
after 11 months of sadness & despair, the 12th seems to be the greatest on this year! The Frost*vent Calendar & a live show, as George said, "What else ?" Thank you so much Jem & Frost* nebula! I'm like the old chap from "The man with the 4.7", you get me real hope and make me happy each time I listen to you. :D
Cheers.
It's a marvelous thing indeed, although it was a bit cramped behind that door. I was ordered in there at the end of October. 8-)
Great, can't watch December 1st here in Germany due to some coypright restrictions... :(
Sorry about that. I wasn't expecting that to happen. Hmm...thinking cap on...
Aaah never has a Christmas pudding taken on such a poignant and hilarious importance!
Advent calendars have suddenly become very 'look forwardable' to again.
Its a long time between now and the 16th. There had better be Frost shaped cookies at the Frost gig...there had better be Holmes!
Afternoon all
I've been a casual observer of the forum for a while, but the calendar has compelled me to finally post...
I was secretly hoping that there would be another calendar after last year's marvel but thought that it was unlikely, it surely takes a fair bit of time to put together, etc.
But I was delighted this morning (yes I know, I'm a day late ) when I saw the 2012 calendar and now it feels just a little bit more like Christmas. It also made me finally get round to buying my ticket for the 16th.
Splendid show!
MarKRS
Ahhh a reason enjoy the advent calendar again! :D (I'm not being miserable, I just haven't been into advent calendars for the last couple of years ;) )
FESTIVE SPIRIT ACTIVATE!!! 8-)

Happy De-lurking Day! :D
Indeed, my voyeuristic days are over! :D
Welcome aboard! :D
Just watched 3, since it is technically tomorrow now. A glorious moment.
Brilliant work of love this is! Well done! :D
I particularly like that the biscuits change every day :)
I like the little lion that sits watching the disembodied arms enjoying their Christmas! :D
Quote from: "RacingHippo"I particularly like that the biscuits change every day :)
Me too! I wonder if a biscuit mountain is growing "somewhere in the Frostie*verse" or if it's being guzzled after each day's shoot? :D
It's very cool, and the little cartoon at the end was ace and reminded me of this complete work of genius...

YES!
A classic.
(Now obsolete with the advent of smoke detectors/alarms)
Hmm, my PC froze while watching vid #2 yesterday, and it just froze during vid #3. Had to restart. I'll try again. :|
Sorry you are having such trouble with this, IBB. :(
Danke... Have no idea about the freezing. On second try, the vids 2 and 3 worked.

Yep.....I'm blind
It doesn't seem to work on an iPad, and I've tried using Safari and Chrome.
It's the wrong Browsers, Grommit!

Great to have the calendar back again, thanks to everyone involved for putting all the work in to make it happen :)
Looking at the calendar reminds me how good that Frost* are. I'm looking forward to Frostbites even more.
If anyone is still having issues seeing the daily video PM me, I have (probably) a solution :)
Biscuit-related indulgence eh?
No-one has ever made a Bourbon sound quite so seductive...
Works great on my iPad, perfect treat for my train journey to work! 8-)
Quote from: "MarkRS"Biscuit-related indulgence eh?
I liked that bit.
Is it all your own work Pedders or have the elves been hindering?
It's a team effort, of course. :)
It works on my iPad now! Thank you, Frost*elves! :D
At least, some dates do... But 8 Dec does not appear to be one of them. (This video is currently unavailable).
That's odd...seems ok here. :(
10th... Nearly filled my keyboard with tea again. :D
Beware! 8-)
Love today's 'Never mind that..' section! Even features a red telephone box - how apt!
Nice find. 8-)

Today's, the Tunnocks factory. I don't recognise the music but it sounds, dare I say it, like Frost*...
If not, then does anybody know what it is?
"BigSmall" here :- //http://www.drarok.com/frost/files/view/Toys :D
taaaa! :D
This morning K asked me if I was going to open my pretend one  She seems to quite look forward to watching them too.

Quote from: "Pedro""BigSmall" here :- //http://www.drarok.com/frost/files/view/Toys :D
I recognised it as being BIGsmall, but after a not very careful listen, wonder whether it has been edited for the Tunnocks section. I'm not 100% sure (would have to do a simultaneous listen), but the copy of BIGsmall I have seems slightly different.

And doesn't it work well against the Tunnocks factory?
In other news... boy are you lot in for a treat tomorrow, what with the Special Guest Appearance that Pedro arranged
tease!
Tunnocks, my favourite biscuit.
I'm unable to view today's (the 19th) calendar entry. just me?
Same here, the vid won't play. :(
ditto
Sincere apologies folks. For various reasons, some technical, some not, the video didn't go up until late last night and the Elves in IT were probably already asleep.
For now, please use this :- //http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuJQ_cUgWBY
Flippin' 'eck, you lot are keen.
Another elf has been made to stand in the corner and forced to listen to Cliff Richard.
I happen to like Sir Cliffs Christmas single 'Little Town'! :)
Who said the punishment was listening to Cliff sing?
Good point Pedro, I follow your drift
Sorry I didn't get to meet you Sunday, I'm sure you won't let it ruin your Christmas :D
Actually I am rather sad I didn't get to make contact with you :( and a number of others who I knew were there (and some I didn't know were there until afterwards).
Wearing the forum shirt did pay off because one or two did come and say "hi", which was lovely...but the place was too rammed and too labyrinthine to stand a chance of seeing everyone or being spotted by everyone.
This is, of course, where the pre-gig and post-gig stuff is the answer, but as I've said, pre-gig I am obsessed with getting in and post-gig I am most likely being reasonable to my long-suffering family members and getting them home before too late/work tomorrow etc.
One day... ;)
thanks for sorting, yet again I realise I am the only Frost*ie without any musical skill :(
Haven't had chance to catch up yet, I'm a few days behind :(
Dear Mister Godfrey. I challenge you, sir:

Pygmy Hippo and I laughed our socks off at today's backwardsness :)
Fab!
*loved* the awkward Cornishman! :D
Had a spare 5 mins last nite so tried to catch up! - I got bit impatient and tried to open the next day without stopping the first so I went back and clicked on the wrong day, so I went back and clicked on another one. By now I had about 4 going at once - it was mental! I'll try and find a bit more time later.
Today's is wondreful
Many apologies if we're late again but you know how this place works - we get it done just as soon as we can. You won't have seen some of the times that poor Pedders has posted his videos, well I have and I can tell you he has gone way above and way beyond with this years calendar :)
Now, he works full time so the little spare time he has has had to go towards this so next time you see him you owe him a pint! Even if it is only a pint of coke, you owe him!
One other thing I've noticed - The late ones are usually pretty damn good :) Get ready for another good one!

had to play the last section of today's one a few times, daughter loved it :D
Today's random was brilliant. :D
Also love the remixes. Working on one myself, it'll be done sometime this decade. Maybe.
Wow, the remixes! I am running windoze in safe mode at the moment due to a registry hiccup, so no sound for me. Looking forward to hearing all those in one go though - thanks for featuring both of mine!
E.S. you should totally do one; try a hybrid with the Fireman Sam song!

Yes, it will be pretty mad. Madness takes time.
I am humbled to say that I have never heard that remix of Pedro's. It's utter genius.
Great multi camera shoot of 'that' solo today! Congrats to Pedro for putting that together so well and indeed for the whole advert calendar. Wondreful job & much enjoyed & appreciated here. 8-)
Cracking job all round Pedro, there's nothing quite like this calendar, you should feel an overwhelming sense of pride and achievement in your handiwork!!
Quote from: "MarkRS"Cracking job all round Pedro, there's nothing quite like this calendar, you should feel an overwhelming sense of pride and achievement in your handiwork!!
Seconded! Absolutely knocked out by your knockout work Peds. Brilliant idea to comp together the videos of JMs solo on todays calendar.
Just wanted to add my thanks and congratulations to Pedro and team for the calendar; it's almost been like having the Frost* reports to look forward to all over again.
Speaking of which, here's hoping we've been good enough for a Christmas treat behnd door 25...
Yeah the *solo* video was brilliant! Very well edited Pedro! Some how I managed to miss the whole of idea of shooting that particular part :( ahhh well here's hoping we can do it again! :D
I wonder what's going to be behind door number 25?... If anything?... I shall be returning tomorrow of course to find out! ;)
And if I don't come back till tomorrow well MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! :D
I can but join the clamour: Pedro, you have done an absolutely brilliant job on the Frost*vent calendar, a jaw-dropping labour of love indeed. Apart from all the Frost*ie wonders, covers, and askjemmeries, there was so much nostalgic content in there that binds together you, me, and (I imagine) quite a number of we Frost*ies of a certain age, it became so, so much more.
Thus, quite apart from what may or may not lie behind the 25th door (and I have my hopes ;-)), your place on the very highest pillar in the very most exalted temple of Frost*iedom, covered in gold leaf and holding a five-pointed snowflake in the air, is assured once again :D
(And finally, on today's BLM solo combo, I too have some hi-def close-up video footage from my DLSR, albeit not of the whole piece and with crumpled sound, because the microphone sensitivity was set too high. But what I liked very much about the video you put together was that brief moment at the end of the solo where JM says "thank you"; I completely missed that very touching acknowledgement of the crowd).
a deep. heartfelt bow to Pedro. Thank you for sharing your talent (and talent it is!), and sharing your love of the Frost*iverse. We are all blessed, indeed.
8-)
Cheers pedders, the advent calendar was once again glorious and brought a little bit of frost*ie joy to me every day of the month. I often forgot to open my chocolate calendar, but never forgot to open the Frost* one ;)
I'd just like to add my thanks to Pedro for a totally brilliant piece of work :)
Ditto. Brilliant work, Pedro. I especially love the sack lion Christmas scene at the end. Kudos don't buy much, but you deserve a whole lot of them.
I'd like to add my applause and appreciation for this jolly entertaining body of work.
I am certainly going to miss it in my morning tea internet ritual.
Thanks Pedro :D
Aww, thanks everyone. It's been fun celebrating the talented Frost*ies and reworking older material into something a little but different. Thanks for watching them and for the feedback. Much appreciated.
As people will have now found out, Jem didn't have time to be the fairy on the top of this particular tree (it was the intention but sometimes things just don't fall the right way) but his contribution of answering my 30 daft questions in such an entertaining way was the catalyst to make the whole thing possible.
Anyway, as the man says, onwards! :D
HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!
WE'VE BEEN TROLLED! SANTA GAVE ME COAL!
Ha ha, yeah, sometimes it's diamonds, sometimes it's coal...just a matter of how much pressure there is!
This time the pressure was elsewhere...but never mind, eh? There's always next year! :)
Fine work all the same, and I'm sure MrG will be round soon enough bearing gifts :)

Muchly wordifold
I've not visited the forum for a while so you can imagine my delight when I found the Frost*vent calendar. Bugger me if dear old JG didn't cover the very reason I have logged back in on day 5! In answer to him, yes, a bit odd but at least there is a medical reason for drinking lots of cold beer :D
Please find attached a picture of me, spreading the word down under on Moolooba beach, Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Sorry I look a bit of a dick.
All the best from Oz, for a Progtastic New Year. Rock on etc.
Sorry, can't get the picture bigger which is a shame because I look great. Actually, no, I look like a dick...
If you have the image online somewhere (e.g. Photobucket) you can put the link to it in img tags.
Ok...which publication did you use to make the magazine tree on the frost*ies dinner table? I have made three now but they all come out too skinny and fall over...
Fantastic advent calender! Thank you for so much anticipation! Can we keep it there all year now, please?
Thanks lyn. I guess the files will remain on the server for a fairly long time, although the main page hopefully will be changed before Twelfth Night(!).
All of the videos are on YouTube owned by user "FrostForum", I just need to make the last few public (which I will do slowly so as not to spam subscribers too much).
As for the tree, I am no expert - having made precisely one tree this way and I should confess that it only looks really good for 3/4 of its circumference...but it does stand-up really well.
I think a secret might be in forcing the spine of the magazine to be completely relaxed so it doesn't try to close the magazine at all. My cut-down version of the original video may have trivialised the importance of that step.
Which mag did I use? Well there was only one choice....

:D
Pedders, you are wondrefully mad. Thanks for the hard work!
Awesome!
A Massive Thank You to Pedro for yet another Frost*tastic Advent Calendar! It Still boggles my mind at the level of unselfish dedication that fans of a music group have for said band.. But, that being said... Frost* to Me is Not just a Band, its an experience. The Music they produce aside, I have "Met" the most wonderful, nicest people via the "Frost*" name. Starting at This forum, which quickly went outwards to Face Book, Twitter etc.. The Common bond being Frost*.. The Frost* Forum Collab. Song last year really proved this to me. The hours Ron put into that collaboration is mind blowing, and for what? Our shared Passion as fellow musicians in a tribute, a Thank You for Frost*. Shit, For me its renewed inspiration in music. I was Late to the table only finding Frost* in late 09' via Frost* Reports.. So, Having Blacklight Machine being my introduction.... I have never been the same since.. true story... Blah Blah... sorry.. bottom line is this... Jem has made a mark on this world that I dont think he can understand, which is a good thing because if he did, he would probably be a Pompous ass. J/K In a way, Frost* is sorta like a religion. If you really think about it.. all because the Music is just so Damn Good and its Creator is engaging and just insane.. One Day I will meet this Man, Jeremy of Gedfrey and I shall buy him a Pint and offer him a handshake of thanks....
Forget about the handshake, Jim. He'll give you a hug before you get the chance. :D
Also, what they said. Thanks for doing such a brilliant job, Pedders. I can't imagine how many hours you put into this lovely calendar. Every day there was something there to make me smile. :)
"Jem has made a mark on this world that I dont think he can understand..."
I found Frost* cos I went on a music hunt, out of despair, to find music that meant something. To me. No one else, necessarily.
I grew up in radio caroline world. I was brought up on a continual feed of stuff I had never heard before, which is compulsive and hard to keep alive.... To me Frost* is precious, unique and a stunning reflection of what makes me me, somehow. That it snuggles up in the Frost*ieverse is both the cake and the icing on the cake!
Who else will care about 7/8, teacakes and trees made from prog magazine? Me, my mates and my kids. Us, our children and our children's children maybe? I am the rubbish mummy - my kids know more about rock than the charts (tough), know more prog than xfactor and ask for party rings and jammie dodgers not take outs. I grew up in big band swing and Frank Sinatra land, cos that was so important to my Dad, so the world goes on, forever... That's brilliant, huh? No-one else comes close!
All thanks to Jem, Frost* and all the Frost*ies... Happy New Year xxxxx ***** xxxxx
Just catching up on you tube, found a fantabulous Frost*ie bit of the calender...
23rd? The other me! Jim D, and Jim D again! Brilliant in a scary sorta way!!!! Thanks

By the way, what was under 25 on the Frost*vent calendar? It doesn't seem to work for me anymore....

Sadly, Jem had too much else on this year. :)
You mean last year?
;)
Pedro, I'm grateful. Probably all that you could want behind day 25! Excellent work BTW, very well done, and you now have a stash of biscuits to get through (or got through...). For me, the best thing about it all was the music! I just love the festive Frost* vibe mash up type thing! Your own work?
Once again, well done and thanks.
Kev
You're most welcome. :o)
I wish the music was my work but it is actually the intro music from Frost*'s first Chrimbo gig...so it's that Jem again! ;)
It can be found here : //http://www.drarok.com/frost/files/view/Rick.Burn among other interesting things. It's called frost_xmas_intro.mp3.
Thanks again.
It did have the touch of God(frey) about it, I have to say. I have just spent 1/2 hr having a look and listen, fun it was too...
I keep meaning to tidy that site up a bit, but then the links mightn't work... Such is life!
Thanks to all people involved in the calendar! I had a blast watching it!! :D
