Can't find any recent posts on Dec

Album Update
So yeah, the album is really in full on mode right now - as mentioned before it's called Paradigm's & Storylines, Stefan Fanden is at the helm for the production and mixing and I got two work in progress song mixes back from him tonight for "Days Like These" and "Yesterday's Fool" I really can't wait for people to hear this album, as sonically it sounds HUGE, which is great as the songs are turning out to be very....well... cinematic, and larger than a large thing that's on make me larger pills. Carl Westholm is providing all the keyboards on this album, so the Swedes have sort of taken over, which is fine 'cos these guys are just incredible musicians - very exciting times

From the snippets Dec's posted on Facebook, the whole process has been going really well. No Difficult Second Album Syndrome, there! I'm really looking forward to this next one.

Hi guys 'n' girls - thanks for the support on this thread, just wanted to let you know that the new album is sounding great, I'm already getting mixes back from Stefan Fanden who is mixing and producing this one and I'm so happy with how it's sounding - sonically, and songs-wise, this one is a big step forward from DAM, can't wait for peeps to hear it. I sent Jem a few rough mixes and he really liked what he heard, so wish me luck guys - tour in Sept......

lots of love

Dec xx

I'm really looking forward to hearing this. Dec proved on DAM that he had the songwriting skillz (like, innit), so hopefully he'll have nailed the production with PAS. It's going to be a must see gig, I reckon, especially with the amazing performing Matt Stevens as support.  8-)

You should be able to walk in to the main bar without problem, so you can get sufficiently watered up before the gig.

And you, Mikey! I look forward to meeting you, sir!  :)

Oooh, shirts with names on....now there's an idea...

BTW if anyone wonders why I appear to not be paying too much attention at some points it's because I was downloading, setting-up and trying to use an Android "chat" client so I could report-in "live" to Gonzo's show! I only did it during that song, honest!

Yep - it's arrived and to prove it - it's here! :D

EDIT: And was just about to throw the package away when I found something else inside - a signed copy of the DAM remix  :o

I'd bought a new one at the Peel anyway, so this one's going somewhere special..

OK - what really happened was I put a note on the payment for P&S saying that I was "in the market" for a copy of the remixed one - wasn't sure that the ones in Dec's shop were new ones.

So him popping a signed copy in the packet means that either:
1) Dec mistook me for the other "Tim L" who Mouses around here; or
2) Dec's a jolly top bloke.

And good to see the Top Frost*ies got credits in the booklet   :)

Incidentally - P&S is successfully fighting off competition for airtime in the Frost*mobile from the new ones by Steven Wilson, Steve Hackett, Airbag and Magenta.  And tough competition coming up from Kate Bush, Neal Morse live and Coldplay - PS one of these is a joke.

Whats all this about a remixed DAM? I'd be very very much interested in one of those if they are indeed available, the mix was the one thing that was holding me back from properly falling in love with DAM the first time, I cant find it mentioned on Dec's website, but this would be most welcome if it exists!  :)

I think there are only the remixed ones available now.
I needed to turn down the treble and up the bass on the original, new one is way better on the ears.

There's a track from Dec (from the Paradigms & Storylines album) up on Soundcloud - Days Like These (//http://soundcloud.com/dec-burke/days-like-these).

Plus a very nice review of the album, Dec's Summers End performance and a 2-page interview and pin-up photo in Classic Rock Presents Prog.

New liveband Dec Burke

Posted on Wednesday, 15th February 2012

Former Darwin's Radio star Dec Burke will play some shows in support of his strong current release "Paradigms and Storylines" and also it looks like he's finally got a new group project on the go:
"Im doing a new group this year with Collin Leijenaar, the live drummer with the Neal Morse band and
former Frost* überbassist John Jowitt, who's playing on my solo project too. At this moment I have some
ideas, but I'm hoping we will write as a band."

The project is as yet untitled bit Dec is making all the right noises. "It's going to be in a more proggie vein, more technical playing, Spock's Beard/Frost* territory. We've had a couple of jams and I'm very exited about this one, I think it'll be good. We could very well have an album's worth of material by the end of the year, and we'll certainly do some promo gigs and see how it's received."

Quote from: "Dec's website"Writing away furiously for the new album which Patrick and I are writing & producing together.

Andersson/Burke Project:Is gathering momentum. 4 songs on the drawing board, working titles: Lie to Me - Fading Away - Closure - Out there in the Silence
This is shaping up to be a very cool album, catchy pop/rock songs......you'll love it :-)

Jowitt/Leijenaar/Westworth/Burke project: Prog, prog & more prog, this is a full on prog rock assault, the writing going great!

Other news: I've contributed a guitar solo to a song on Simon Godfrey's upcoming project.

That's about it for now, I hope to meet some of you at the upcoming UK dates
