Did anyone catch Sir Jem of Godfrey on the Chris Evans show being interviewed yesterday .. Chris asked him if there was a piano to hand .. I has waiting for Jem to unleash some shreadtastic sonic bombardment .. sadly he declined. Gret to hear him getting the credit though, I bore most folks I know by singing Jems praises.

Brilliant to hear His Royal Highness of Madcaptomfoolery on such good form ... how I miss those Frost reports, they were the highlight of my week (how sad is that)  :D

Tis confirmed ... There's a gig (woooo hoooo)  :)

Blunders has let slip on Facebook that he's busy learning prog tracks for an un-named event ....

As for falling out .... I never got any suggestion of any falling out.

Gone for the greenhouse effect?
Coat delivery for Mikey! ;)

Nice one  :D

Definitely want less shedding on the album .. I'm not a big fan of the sounds of small wooden huts being constructed !

Sounds less metal and more progressive to my ears.

They'd gone too heavy for me with the last 2 albums, and I found their shows to be one relentless sonic assault on my ears ... less notes, less metal, less shedding, better songs would be a good direction as far as I'm concerned, but Im only a casual DT fan.

Was MP the big driver in terms of metal within the band ?

I like this 1st song though  :D

Announcements / Re: Word from The Jemster

There's having fun on stage and being able to deliver a blinding performance and then there's arsing around on stage, unable to concentrate or play properly. Whenever I saw Frost (3 times luckily) they were a blast to see .. both fun and entertaining AND brilliant musical performances.

Whats the point of going to watch some misserable feckers plod their way through a stale prog gig... dinosaurs died out because they couldnt adapt to their changing environment, traditional progsters are going the same way.

I'm glad Jem is back in action ... although because he's so bloody good at this musical larking about, I'm concerned he'll end up creating a rod for his own back again.

The pressure must have been considerable ... a new home (100's of miles from London), the demands of a successful day job, an expanding young family and a loss making, time robbing hobby called Frost* (for which he was never going to turn out a sub-standard album, as it had his name all over it). Add to that the pressures of learning songs for a few dates playing with one of the the worlds greatest guitarists and then the DVD cock up ... it must have been the straw that broke the camels back.

I can't wait to hear some more Jemtastic music, whatever genre it fits into.

Now ... hands up who wants to see the video of Jem doing donuts in his car on the lawn  :D

Where is this blog of which you speak ?

I'm a Frost fan, but above all else, I'm a Jem fan ... So if theres a way i can get a little Jem fix I'll be happy.

I miss the madcaptomfoolery of Godders, but Frost is over, sad but true,  but maybe ... one day...

Yah .. I got some too .. from the wife, bless her  :D

I was playing a while back, but RSI in my right wrist led to me giving up.

Now started playing again, and loving it .. playing tennis has helped my wrist improve.

Ahhh yes 'tis I .. or 'twas  :)

I did some vocals for a couple of guys in the USA who did all the arrangements etc. I met them through a song writing website.

The version you have heard is probably with drum loops from Drums on Demand, but no other loops etc and I think it was done in Logic.

The Fire in his Eye .. my favourite song I did for them, its a true story about a guy who became paralysed in a motorbike accident.

Thanks for the interest... let me know if you want to be tortured with more  :D

Ive been looking at the same thing .. Obviously you (and I) cant afford the Roland or Yamaha, but Alesis do a USB kit with surge cymbals fro £549 .. which seem to work very well on demo's Ive seen on youtube

http://www.dv247.com/drums-and-percussi ... als--48544

or

the Alesis DM5 pro with the same surge cymbals

http://www.dv247.com/drums-and-percussi ... dle--79667

They're a decent make, but obviously make to a price point and wont be as good as the Roland / Yamaha's, but buy it with a 4 year warranty from dv247 and you're covered ... easy win !  :D

And no, I dont work for DV247  :D

Frost* / Should we be concerned ?
November 16, 2010, 04:44:45 PM
Jem's last Twitter post is a bit of a worry ... especially given it was some time ago and he's been very quiet since .. does anyone know ... Is the Captain of the goodship Frost* ok ?
