Well that all sounds marvelous but will you be playing any Frost* related? ( :D )
sounds brrrrrrrrilliant!!
I'm not convinced of sufficient commitment to playing Frost* stuff...
:)
Quote from: "SmartUK"I'm not convinced of sufficient commitment to playing Frost* stuff...
You would have thought that posting on the Frost* forum there would be an incentive to listen... tisk.
Dammit - just catching up with the last few EIMA podcasts - now I want to get the Owsley albums (just ordered them!!!!) but can't get 'The Semantics - Powerbill' anywhere.
Anyone know of anywhere with a reasonable priced copy, or download ?????
Addendum - Fear Not!!! I've located a copy at the trusty X Records in Bolton. I hereby thoroughly recommend them (again) as they have lots of very obscure and hard to get hold of things - just don't try and email an order through at the moment as their email host seems to be on the blink!!!!!!
I'm so pleased to hear that, Mooncat! Owsley was one of the greatest unknowns in power pop. Another genius gone too soon. "Powerbill" was only released in Japan, so it can be tough to come by. I got my copy via eBay auction.
Just to be clear, is the 13:00-16:00 UK time?
Quote from: "SmartUK"Just to be clear, is the 13:00-16:00 UK time?
No that US Pacific time it's be on from 21:00 -00:00 UK Time
The program will air at 21:00 UK time (13:00 Pacific time North America). Saturday nighty in Blightey.
Thanks for helping out a poor, befuddled drummer! In that case, I'll see (hear) you then!
For anyone attending this evening, I recommend arriving 5-10 minutes early to assure you get a good seat, but also because sometimes the show starts before the top of the hour and you won't want to miss a minute of it.
I do hope you'll join us for the chat. It's going to be a fun show.
Cheers and Happy New Yeers!
I'll be there but my evil ISP is playing up so the stream might be a bit off'n'on.
Loving it Frost*ies
Liking the messages and the Frost*ie mash-ups. :)
Thanks for coming along fellow Frosties, 'twas a great thing to have you all in Dividing Line chat!
Loved it - a great idea - kudos to gr8gonzo and, of course, Jem.
My extended HNY message can be heard here (//http://www.box.net/shared/l238iq681r) if anyone's interested. It started life as just the first bit....but then Gonzo said it could be a bit longer....so I took a mile! ;)

it was and is an epic show, Gonzo!!! thanks for putting it all together! what a great time! 8-)
Sorry I didn't get to hear much of it or stay long in chat, my ISP picked yesterday to have a fault in my area which meant my internet access varied from Non existent to sketchy at best
So I'm downloading the show to listen later :D
It was a wondreful way to start off 2011. Big thanks to all involved!

Plan B if X-Records ever lets you down, try Action Records in Preston (http://www.actionrecords.co.uk/ (http://www.actionrecords.co.uk/))
I went jogging this morning, listening to my ipod with the last night EIMA on it 8-)
Unfortunately, Jem singing "Her name was Lola" took me by surprise : I had to laugh a lot, which is not good for jogging :D
Next time, I'll listen to the show as usual : in my chair, with a glass of local product.
It was an excellent "Best of ..." in 3 hours - downloading now for later listening and recommend that everyone else does as well.
Quote from: "Mikey"Followed the link to TDL & Experiments in Mass Appeal #13 - 1 January 2011, are all the chopped up bits on the forum somewhere, I've got most of them, but there's a few on there I don't recognise
What bits, specifically?
Hang fire, just been on Draroks Frost* page and downloaded everything that's there.
I recognise most of the titles on there.
I have Dec, Kino, Flash Range, Darwins Radio & IQ..............
So maybe just these
7. Frost* - Snowmen [Gonzo edit] (4:31)
14. Frost*/David Lee Roth - Falling With The Devil [excerpt] (:30)

Re Dave Lee Roth
Was having a conversation at work (cue spit the dog) the other day & I said I'd seen DLR at St George's Hall, Bradford, possibly mid '90's. Mate being immensely jealous tried checking this out and couldn't find anything on t'old webbynet. Anyone around this neck of the woods verify that?
We'd started talking about Vai & I said I thought I might have seen him with DLR on that tour, before I knew who he was

Vai wasn't with Roth in the mid 90's, Vai was with Roth in the mid to late 80's. Roth played Donnington in 88 with Vai on guitar not sure if he played any other gigs around that time
Other Roth gigs I've found for the UK:
NEC and Wembley Arena 88
NEC 91
Sheffield City Hall, Hammersmith Odeon 94

Ah!!
Err,

I have it. Just uploading to dropbox now. I'll post a link if I'm successful.
Sweet :-)
I am also interested in this.
Phew!
Here's the link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nunpkheiujal0it/AAAo0AT0tzi1gNlZay2ISrhba?dl=0
Let me know if it doesn't work (I'm sure you will!)
If you look very carefully, you might find something that doesn't really exist lurking in the same folder 8)
Awesome thanks so much :-) 8) ;D
Added to my Dropbox, thank you!
Thank you, too :)
Hi, I can only get the file to play to around 26 mins, not sure if there was an issue with the upload ?
Best
Matt

I downloaded the file and it was playing fine then abruptly stopped as Matt said just after 26minute mark after "Oh my God" while Gonzo is speaking. Tried importing the file into Adobe Audition editing software but it just threw up and error saying it was unable to read the file. Does seem that maybe the file was corrupted on upload.
That's disappointing. It stalled the first time I tried uploading but the second attempt seemed to go ok.
I'll check the original and re-upload it...
The original is corrupted :(
It used to play ok, but it obviously suffered on being transferred to my latest iMac. I still have my previous two computers, but I don't have time to check them until next week. Sorry :-[

No problem, I only wanted to listen to hear my bit as I couldn't remember what I said and luckily I was near the start so heard what I wanted to hear. Thanks for taking the time to upload for us, much appreciated.

Fancy, bring the topic back on track. If it wasn't a request for Frost* music that would have to be a red card :)
*tap tap* Is this thing on again? *cough*
Hello again all. I have just uncovered a DVD I made from my old computer whilst this show was on. It starts during track 10 with me farting around with my desktop getting everything up and running, including the chat window :) I can’t remember how long I recorded for but I’ll find out soon and update this post. [2.5 hrs Ed.]
If I can get my PC to let me do some FTP I’ll be sending a copy to Drarok for his voluminous virtual tote bag of Frost* memorabilia, in case it’s of interest to anyone and/or I lose it again.
yay!!
In the spirit of discovering old stuff lying around in dusty computer corners, I found a copy of my New Year's message from that show and, since the link I posted way back then is now dead, I just uploaded it to Soundcloud, here (https://soundcloud.com/user9295287/pedro_madder_newyear_message).

That would be great, Smart. I've had a fair few requests for that show, which was sadly lost in the great PC snafu of 2013. I'm pretty certain someone has that episode, just not anyone who is likely to pop in here. Happy to be wrong.
