With only 2 bands announced, I find it hard to order a ticket now...
But last year was great, so I really think of going again.

Here are some pics from last year (including RWA): http://good-times.webshots.com/album/564169686WFplVJ

That's no good - it's in school term.

LivingForever

Ooh, Steve Hackett electric band!  :o

Not sure that's enough to warrant a trip to Germany and stand in a muddy field though...  ;)

Check out my pics (link above). You sit on stones in a big amphitheatre.

Oh it is the most civilised festival I have ever been to.  Everybody takes their cups back for refills as you get beer cheaper for recycling so you are not standing in rubbish.  The amphitheatre is wonderful for the vertically challenged such as myself as you can see from everywhere.  The views of the Rhine are gorgeous and the villages of St Goar and St Goarhausen are beautiful.  Music is an added bonus!

I couldn't go last year as the choice between that and Summers End was obvious.

Sarah: The recyclable thing is the same with all festivals in Germany, I think. At least the larger ones I'm familiar with. Usually you get the festival logo on them too to make people even less likely to toss them somewhere.

LivingForever: I know that in 2007 Night of the Prog got great weather and over at Burg-Herzberg we had hippies mud-wrestling by the third day. Maybe that's the way it normally works and Night of the Prog will get good weather again. (;-)

I must say it looks a super venue, and Steve Hackett amped up... hmmm I'll keep watching this space.

QuoteHello and happy new year. The line up increases: Next to Pendragon and Steve Hackett & Band we are proud to present Riverside, The Pineapple Thief and Lazuli to the Line Up.

Lazuli were brilliant at Burg-Herzberg last year, anyone who goes to this must see them!

(they're unfortunately not quite as good on their studio albums, but still an interesting band)

Hmm, I saw them opening for Riverside in December and I thought they were more impressive than on CD.
Here's a gig from that tour (which doesn't really do them justice, though. The camera focuses too much on the singer and the band was not as relaxed as when I saw them 2 days later.): http://www.fabchannel.com/lazuli_concert

Oh, and this site also has the Riverside gig: http://www.fabchannel.com/riverside_concert

I was at the Paradiso gig, someone here once said that Lazuli was like an evil circus. And he was right, it's very weird music imho. Not my cup of tea but they were quite funny, especially the way they talked. :)

I must go to Loreley this year.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

LivingForever

Oooh, oooh, I wanted to see Riverside too!

Okay, this is looking more and more tempting.
