Someone is going to have to fill me in on who these Losers are.
I think I found them on myspace but the terrible myspace player won't let me play any music of theirs :x
Any webpages or info on them?
EDIT
It's ok, I found some youtube videos. Not really my thing but I recall Jem saying the new album would be different so shall reserve my opinion for that ;)
I'm liking these daily blogs.
However, today's would would almost have fitted into a tweet 8-)
It's Day#1 of the new album...and we have two track titles....
I may be wrong aboutnthis but was"nt towerblock one of the songs destined for jems solo project one in four ?
Or perhaps he's changed his mind again. He does that. ;)
on occasion. ;)

Have the 2 become 1? or the 1 in 4 become Frost*?

That's fun. Reminds me a bit of Queen in some ways

If I may be so bold to suggest a cover of this needs to made.
Speaking of covers is there a way one could get a legal version of the Frost* cover of "Here is the News?"

The only thing surprising about this is that you haven't done a cover of it yet. I shall expect to hear this before any future gigs. =)

Really enjoyed todays(Fri.)blog... ;)
New bloggage!!
Looking forward to hearing mini-Jem's contribution on the album!
Blog (Monday), blog (Tuesday) and NO 1 blog (today) :)
Alex Hutchings....wow!
That Damien Schmitt from Impact Fuze is an incredible drummer, amazing band...!
I have to admit, I've been immersing myself in all the Impact Fuze I can find on t'internet since watching that!
It's like.. like... BrandX after a month-long diet of nowt but espresso.
New blogage! A co-written concept album in prospect! 8-)
That sounds fantastic,concept album co-written by the band...luvlyjubly ;)
Very exciting news, can't wait to hear what happens when the whole band contributes!
I hope Blunders has some of his cool DNB inspired stuff to add!

This album is sounding more and more exciting as a project as time goes on. One wonders what would happen if Messrs Blundell, King and Mitchell were to assist with day job writing?
I'm not sure anything would get done, but there would be much fun and a complete shortage of alcohol in the south of England?

Absolutely!
Sounds like a fairly serious attack of Dayjobitis... but that has some fringe benefits I believe :)
I've had dayjobitis for years. I've yet to see any benefit at all to my fringe.
Defined benefits of this kind are important, especially in the Home Counties where they are placed uppermost. For example, in Surry they always put the fringe on top!

totally. the mind spins.
Ooh, that's really good! Well done sir. 8-)
Just a shame that there are no UK gigs as I'd loved to have seen 4 of my favourite musicians on stage together. No chance of the tour making it across the channel?
Am I right in thinking you're a bit of a Vai fan anyway? I'm sure I remember you mentioning that you were on one of the Frost* reports, possible the one on the BLM solo... :?:
Now that's what I call an announcement :D :D
Shouldn't it be G4 then though? :D :D
And it's dates so far, so hoping we may get a few UK ones yet...
Incredible news Jem,congratulations. ;) Your stock will have risen incredibly by the end of your European adventure, and its thoroughly deserved. I am so bloody jealous :D

Never mind about all that.... did you know that ....
Oh sod all that.......
This is blooming brilliant news. :D What a gig and then some!! :D If I'm not mistaken most G3 happenings give birth to a DVD and a CD. I'll look forward to that. Fantastic! Hope they come to the UK, I have been a big fan of Mr. Morse right from the day I heard "Take it off the top" playing in a record shop in Swansea in the late 70's, quite a while before Tommy Vance got hold of it.
Is this also the news that involves Blunders?? (Says he, probably behind the times again)

"Momentous moment! Just programmed my first Combi on the Kronos for the Vai G3 set!"So I guess his rig is his own. I suppose doing the whole European leg of the tour means he's not just depping for a few nights.

Well the blog does say both Satch
and Vai but I'm not 100% sure about any of it. :)
Mike was slated to do the tour for obvious reasons, but he's busy with another project that he needs to do so I am doing the whole tour and I am playing keys for Joe and Steve plus the G3 jam at the end. Ironically I think it makes me the musician onstage most of all.
Not sure if we're coming to the UK currently. I'm still hoping ONE DAY I'll get to play the bloody Hammersmith Odeon!

I'm using a Kronos 61 and a Kronos 73. :D
Nothing against Mike's rig, but as this is bizarrely "my" tour I figured I could use synths I was more comfortable with. The SV-1 is more of a performance instrument whereas I like to faff about with zones and samples and what not. As you know. ;)
Steve in particular is very happy for me to move the keyboard parts back towards the album interpretations so I've been doing a lot of listening to albums out of phase these last couple of weeks!
Can't you add an 88 just to get the "full set" on stage? That would be seriously posy!
Hey Jem, could you get the lapsteel going? or the Skeletone? Make it a G4?
I'm sure everyone would love to see a report, especially to see if those Americanas understand the humour! From TPE, I got the impression that for Mr. D. Virgillio, it was almost a second language he was learning.

Bit confused by this (maybe as I'm not familiar to the albums) but does this mean you'll be re-interpretating the original albums or is there a special case for G3 where you have to play things differently? :?

Nah it means he's going to invert the output of one Kronos so that it's out of phase with the other one.

Frost* 3 is alive...alive!!....ALIVE!!! (queue maniacal laughter...)

QuoteAll I can say for sure right now is that it's not an EIMA, and nor is it a Milliontown, but it's as Frost* as anything we've ever done before and I'm really REALLY excited!
Can one ask for more?! This is excellent news. I simply haven't stopped listening to Frost* since I started listening to Frost*, so more Frost*, at any cost, will not be time/effort lost.

Just kidding. All you would need to do would be to play a few notes on that there Kronosurus and we would go all weak at the knees.
Oh, that just struck me, although I noticed it before.
The old OLD blog is completely gone. I remember some good, interesting and funny moments from that.

When it's played at Scala it will be the last time.........then the next time it's played that will be the last time
The man said it himself - he's posting with MacJournal now and hasn't gotten around to sorting the bells and whistles, assuming they're sortable at all. If he can change the settings for comments, I imagine he will. Or not.
And, he didn't say it would be the last time ever for playing Milliontown, just the last time for a long time. Can't blame him, really. To be honest, I'm surprised he's doing it. I didn't think he wanted to play it anymore. Plus, as he pointed out, playing epics live is such a time suck. I think it's generally preferable to have as long a setlist as possible.
Exhibit G, m'lud, in which the witness testifies to his desire to not play Milliontown in its entirety.

All together.................Ooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh :D :D :D
I think we are very lucky fans!
Well, well (one for each album). Meets with my approval, most definitely, although I'd slightly disagree with Jem on the indigestibility of double albums: Topographic Oceans remains a perfect example, for me.
That said, single albums in the LP days were only 45 minutes long usually, and if the two parts of F*** are closer to an hour each, as is more typical for CDs, then he could be right.
And having just listened to one of Wilf's European Perspective podcasts while out riding along the dune road to Zandvort this afternoon, perhaps like Big Big Train and English Electric, there'll be a special edition version of both parts of F*** issued together later, along with bonus material ... no pressure 8-)
In any case, bring 'em on, I say: can't wait. Almost impossible to believe that it will have been 5 years since EIMA ...
(BTW, I've noticed that the Blog dial link on the website front page doesn't point to Jem's new blog page: could that be fixed?)

TPE now available as a download via bandcamp. :)
I'm spreading the love on Facebook. Already one sale, I believe! 8-)
What a good idea! A simple way of letting new fans get hold of the wondreful TPE and a way of providing some more income to Jem. He has confuddled me a little though saying that TPE was "a double album plus a DVD and all with glam full colour artwork etc etc. " Did I miss something?! :? TPE was a double CD - with free T-shirt thrown in - but I'm sure the only DVD to date was on the deluxe version of EIMA, with all the Frost* reports...
Anyhoo, looking forward to Jem uploading "lots of oddities and spare knick knacks that I have lying about, a sort of B-Sides and rarities collection as soon as I get a chance to." I can feel the credit card getting nervous already! 8-)
Well my version of TPE has a DVD. :D
Contents included all of the pre gig Frost reports (with Jordan Rudess playing the iphone, rehearsal footage with NDV etc)
and the 5.1 mix of 'The Dividing Line'. Is it not also the 'home' to the instrumental snippet of '1976'???
The original TPE has 3 discs in it, one of which is the DVD thingy. The digital download only has the music bits.
My apologies - so it does. Memory playing tricks - that'll teach me for writing things at work without checking first!

Got to admit my brain filled in a "have" (or possibly a "get") and didn't bother alerting my conscious mind to the editorial liberties. Odd that that can happen with the written word for me, but would *never* happen with something I hear. Is that everyone, or is it me? Is it because I am a musician and audio engineer, or am I that because my brain works a certain way?
I'm thinking it is probably everyone since...

Highlights for the twitter generation:
* Gig done; man happy, despite buggered right hand
* DVD to be released this year
* No 6MIS this year, but a new single album for InsideOut first in summer 2014
* 6MIS then released in 2015 and 2016
* Milliontown and EIMA to be re-recorded new drum and bass parts from Blunders and Nathan
First off excited, three frost albums woo hoo second thoughts disappointment that smis has been put [temporarily ] on the shelf, then again excited that DVD nearing completion plus remakes of million town and eima in the pipeline, finally worry that jem might be over reaching in terms of workload so in summary confused. :) :o ??? ;)

Quite so.
Last time that happened we had to send an inflatable banana around the world.
And no mention of said banana in his blog post. Where ARE his priorites? ;)
Agreed, though. Veteran Frost*ies are all very aware that plans change in the Frost*iverse and Jem piles work upon himself at times to his own detriment. Despite the best laid plans, we know to temper our enthusiasm with an occasional biscuit solo. And that's perfectly fine. Much to look forward to.

Beautifully put, sir.
So basically what I'm reading (as usual); it's done when it's done. ;)

That is the greatest thing about the Frost*ie-verse...the ability to flex - everyone gets it, the first time of asking! So unique* Hurry up and wait... Awesome gig and great blog teaser - what a weekend! x

Something new for us all today: http://www.planetfrost.com/post/51549547531/28th-may-2013 (http://www.planetfrost.com/post/51549547531/28th-may-2013)
And for me, the (admittedly vague ;)) promise of a real tour in Europe (and beyond) raises the possibility of Frost* at De Boerderij in Zoetermeer ... would be very, very welcome (although I imagine that I'd miss the UK-based Frost*ies who may not want to travel).
Hmmm, perhaps I could tempt you all by setting up a parallel Twats house party at my place the night before ... 8)
My thoughts when I read about possible gigs in Europe were "Good job I've just renewed my passport" ;)
