Just saw that EIMA was indeed one of Mike Portnoy's faves for 2008... Pretty cool ! Since Milliontown had pretty much gone unnoticed, I figured EIMA would follow its unfortunate lead, but guess what, it seems it's actually really appealing to the masses

QuoteMP's Favorite Albums of 2008:

1. Metallica - Death Magnetic
2. Protest The Hero - Fortress
3. The Mars Volta - The Bedlam In Goliath

6. Opeth - Watershed
7. Bloodbath - Unblessing The Purity / The Fathomless Mastery
8. Frost - Experiments In Mass Appeal
9. Trivium - Shogun
10. Steven Wilson - Insurgentes

A few honorable mentions:

Nice to see Bloodbath's new album & EP on there too.  They're two mighty good slabs of old school Swedish death metal.  If you like that sort of thing.

Yesssss.  I was just about to post this.  Hopefully EIMA will have some influence on the next Dream Theater album.

I'm doubtful about it...
You talk
You think you own me
You miss the point completely
These things I do they\'re not for you
I\'m sick and I\'m tired
Leave me alone...

Oh yeah, as am I.  But a guy can dream, right?

Well, with Dream Theater these days, dreams only stay like that...

And there was me wondering which Member of Parliament had such good taste!

MP's endorsement should indeed boost sales of EIMA to some degree, which is very cool.  Would love to hear DT do a Frost* cover - Hyperventilate, perhaps? Anyone else foresee a future side project with Jem and MP?  Liquid Tension Experiments in Mass Appeal?
...and I can feel the world is turning...turn around

It would have been cool to have Frost on the Progressive Nation tour '09
as Jem had stated. I would have been buying tickets as soon as they went
on sale.  But hey, I'm sure the invitation will always be open in the future.

Pfah.  It would be quite great to hear MP and JG working together.  But the former is too much of an airhead for that.

It's like they say: nobody hates Dream Theater more than their fans!

And no, I'm afraid I don't quite know who 'they' is and why 'they' would make such a preposterous claim.

Every album on that list is amazing. Good choices.

I believe we can conclude from these results that the Experiment has been a success.
