Other Bands / Dilemma
April 15, 2019, 09:12:51 PM
Any other Frost*ies heard Random Acts of Liberation by Dilemma? Dilemma are mainly Dutch, but they've enlisted the vocal stylings of former Frost* singer Dec Burke on this album. Their second studio album, with the first appearing way back in the mid-90s.

I know this is ridiculously late posting here, but Civilisation was my favourite album from last year. All four tracks are incredible!

A studio version of TFYS already exists, but who knows? He's been known to rework tracks here and there.

Then it needs a proper release.

I've seen absolutely nothing to suggest it might happen, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this EP will include a studio version of The Forget You Song. As it's "Others", there's a chance.

Without question the most bonkers ending to a track I've ever heard...and I LOVE it! It is literally like they took a wrecking ball to the song and ripped it apart.

Fab stuff. :) I stil can't believe that the Frost album wasn't nominated in Prog Mag's album of the year category. Mind you, in hinesight I know where Frost went wrong. They should have set the release date for the album for a fortnight after the nominations were announced. They'd definitely have got in then. Te he

Please tell me this is a subtle dig at Prog for nominating Anderson/Stolt in that category, despite the album not even being released at that point.

Frost* / Re: EIMA vocals

Interesting. And thank you for the replies. To me, Jem and Dec have similar singing voices, and purely on the sound (and not being too familiar with it yet), I get them mixed up. Much like I used to confuse Fish with Peter Gabriel or even Phil Collins from time to time.

Frost* / EIMA vocals

Very obvious newbie question alert.

What's the lead vocal situation with the Experiments in Mass Appeal album? The CD booklet that I have features no lyrics or credits at all, so who does what lead vocals on that album?

Fantastic song, but I still need to be on guard lest that *clunk* sound after the first vocals makes me jump. Which has happened several times. And that totally bonkers ending.

Does your "biscuit" change as you post more here?

Something tells me that this is not the first thread to veer off into discussion of biscuits.

Welcome, you're quite right but all we really need to know is what is your biscuit of choice? You can always tell us about yourself by starting a thread in "Any other business".

Hmm....I'm swaying towards Chocolate Digestives. Or Malted Milk. One of those two, I think.
Milk or plain choc?

Oh, milk, without question. Can't stand dark chocolate. If white chocolate digestives were a thing, I'd go for that.

And thanks rogerg.

Frost* / Re: How did you discover Frost*?
June 22, 2016, 10:04:59 PM
I think I knew of Frost* a good few years ago, but it's only been in the last year that I've really got into the music, starting (of course) with Milliontown. The closing instrumental section of the title track is one of the most extraordinary and thrilling passages of music I've ever heard. I bought the album last December, and I've grown to love the other songs on it too. Then I bought Experiments in Mass Appeal and Falling Satellites within 2 weeks of each other. I've probably listened to FS more, but both are incredible.
