Other Bands / Re: Avenged Sevenfold
November 02, 2010, 04:50:07 PM
Quote from: "Cptncanary"We actually left after AX7, partly due to not being keen on a band I've never heard of (slightly narrow-minded on my part, I concede) but also because my 11 yr old had a maths test on Monday morning, so he had to get to bed

Yeah, the amount of people leaving before Stone Sour was very VERY concerning from my point of view, but it got me about five rows from the front, so I'm not complaining I guess. =P And I'll forgive you because you have an excuse, this time. =P

But yeah, A Little Piece of Heaven is so their best track, but it's somewhat lacking with Jimmy I guess, so not playing it seems understandable. I don't know why the setlist seemed a bit lacking, maybe it's because I don't go for them all that much...

Frost* / Re: New Frost* Report!
November 01, 2010, 06:01:24 PM
Well, I for one love the Dividing Line, and agree that I can't even comprehend it being anything that takes the piss. But people will have opinions, I personally think that Frost* do a very good job of keeping the music serious and the videos funny, and they excel in both areas. And Frost* Reports must stay as hilarious as they are otherwise I will be disappointed to no end, as I watch them all the time and they're about the best band-related documentary (or rockumentary, whatever floats your boat) things about. So definitely don't change that. =P

I also saw them at the NIA, and damn, that was one of the best gigs I've been to. I went for Stone Sour (who were absolutely incredible, I might add, and the reason the gig was quite so good as it was), but Avenged Sevenfold were always gonna put on a show, and anything with my hero Mike Portnoy involved has gotta be good. But yeah, I don't go for A7X's stuff massively, but they were on top of their game, and the tribute to the Rev was pretty emotional. And Portnoy was incredible as always. =P The setlist probably could have been better, and I have a bone to pick with the crowd for picking Bat Country over Almost Easy, but oh well, it was good anyway. =P Stone Sour came on second though, which I was pleased with, because they were just brilliant. My friends were annoyed, but it's their loss. =P

Any Other Business / Re: Hallowe'enies

The only song that really creeps me out is Tool's Cesaro Summability, off Aenima. That track's just plain WEIRD.

And I've just remembered I should be getting the grey Mellotron tee, now that I've been spending money elsewhere and have gigs coming up. Aww.

I'd like to see this too at Bilston, as it's such a cool song, I'm sure you can work something out? =P

...that I really really really really REALLY want to go on the drums, but the garage is currently filled with miscellaneous new / broken furniture. It'd better be cleared by tomorrow!

And that my drumming stickman is actually drumming pretty badly, I may sort him out in the near future.

...that I'm listening to the Philadelphia Experiment for the first time in ages, and Black Light Machine's gweetar solo hit me properly for the first time in ages too. That is one damned fine solo right there.

Aww, such a shame there's none of the grey 'Keep Calm and Mellotron' tees with the Careless Prog Costs Lives on the back left in M, I'd have bought that in a heartbeat, that's just awesome XD

*sigh*

And I've just ordered two tickets for the DVD gig, hell yes =D What a couple of days that's gonna be ^_^

Also, that poster advertising the gig is absolutely sublime, love it ^_^

Also also, I forgot to put my name in the order, but sent the store an e-mail, that'll be OK won't it? *is worried*
