Frost* / Are Frost* Going On Ice Again?
March 31, 2017, 01:09:23 PM
Just had an email about this little run of UK dates, which says they'll be the last ones for the foreseeable future. Does this mean the band are going to sleep again for a bit? I seem to remember Jem saying there was another album in the pipeline.

I know Jem has a lot on, and these are really just his hobby projects, but it seems like he sometimes needs an outside producer; someone who can impose discipline and deadlines (although I appreciate they're not very fashionable words when it comes to music!)

So many unfinished products and loose ends, with no album since 2008.

I'm not moaning (much). It'd just be nice to see something finished and released.

Anyway, I see there have been a few tweets about a new Frost* website recently, so maybe something's happening after all and we're all going to be very surprised.

Frost* / Are Frost* Still Going?
December 12, 2014, 10:50:39 AM
Simple question - maybe not so simple answer!?

I don't get as much chance to visit the forums as I used to, but I follow Jem's Twitter, and try to keep up with his various blogs... But unless I'm missing something, a lot of those pages seem to have come and gone. Anyway, I haven't seen any mention of Frost* since the start of this year when the excellent Rockfield Files came out, and there were live versions of a few great new tracks from a proposed new studio album on there. Anyone know if that's still in the works, has Jem moved onto pastures new and finished with Frost*, or are things just quiet at the moment?

Cheers :-)

Frost* / Frost* 2008 Tour Promo For Sale
August 29, 2014, 09:44:56 PM
If anyone's interested, I'm selling a spare copy of the 2008 tour promo, Featuring Here is the News, Wedding Day, acoustic Snowman and embryonic versions of Experiments in Mass Appeal and Wonderland on ebay. I'm reluctant to part with it, but I'm making my own record and trying to find as much money for the project as possible.

Frost* / The Frost album Jem would rather forget...
July 02, 2014, 12:25:25 AM
Little did we know that there was actually another Frost album before Milliontown, scrapped after it was decided a major image overhaul was needed...

And, to quote Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the whole thing disappeared in a puff of logic :-)

Ask Frost* / Booking contact for It Bites?
January 13, 2014, 04:47:10 PM
Ok, not quite Frost* related, but I work at a music venue in the North and we're after booking It Bites. Anyone know who we'd be best getting in touch with? I know JM used to post here sometimes.

Ta!

Anyone know what the RPM album challenge is? Has it been mentioned before?

Watching the DVD now. Awesome doesn't begin to describe it!!

Fantastic seeing the solo on Black Light Machine up close. Guitar and drum playing blew me away! And I know Jem doesn't speak too highly of his voice, but, from where I'm standing, it's pretty faultless :-)

Haven't posted on here in ages, but just ordered the DVD so thought I'd say hi and share in my excitement, and then I see mutterings that Frost* may be no more... Say it ain't so!

Any Other Business / Charity Walk / Book
May 16, 2012, 03:43:12 PM
Been a while since I posted here. More of a reader than a poster these days, although I suspect that'll change once the new album gets underway. I love seeing albums come together - it was one of the best things about the Frost* reports for EIMA, getting a glimpse into the mind of a... Genius...? Madman?

Anyway, a few of you have kindly supported me before with writing etc. and I thought you might be interested to know about the charity walk I'm doing for Manchester's Christie Hospital, who treated me as a kid. Anyone who sponsors gets a free copy of my new (and final) collection of poetry, with all proceeds going to the hospital.

More info (and a poem about our former lord and master, a certain Mr. Blair) here: //http://www.markcharlesworth.blogspot.com

Frost* / Re: Frosty Christmas Joy etc.
December 11, 2011, 05:21:22 PM
Lots of exciting stuff going on then! Being way up north, I couldn't make it down to the Peel, but sure it'll be a great show and I'll hopefully catch the guys next time they play Manchester or, dare I suggest it, Blackpool!

I've never heard much IB. The stuff I did listen was perhaps a little too 80s sounding for my tastes, but I'd be interested in checking out the new stuff if it's got a modern edge?

Frost* / Frosty Christmas Joy etc.
December 03, 2011, 11:51:14 AM
I'm probably a little late here... But I just wanted to communicate a little unrestrained joy (it is nearly Christmas, after all) at the news of an imminent Frost* return!

I didn't realise there was even a website yet, presuming the excellent frostmusic.net (and its quirky advent calender) is official? Also, there seems to be much talk of an upcoming live date at the Peel. Is this the only show, or are there any more scheduled. And just who IS in this latest incarnation, besides Jem and presumably JM?

Hi,

Sorry I wasn't in touch to update about this sooner. Things all got a little bit complex, and I can only apologise that people have had to wait it out until 2011. We had a little difficulty with Sophie Aldred's foreword, and it was becomming more and more clear that she just couldn't deliver. Not entirely her fault, but we were very dissappointed. We were faced with a decision - wait it out and keep reminding her, or get the book out sooner at the expense of the foreword. Either way, we knew we'd be letting some people down, so we asked round and the general consensus seemed to be that people could take or leave the foreword, and would much rather have the book sooner. So, we decided to speed things on and wrote some lovely extra content to compensate. A while back, I posted updates on blogs, Facebook and my mailing list. I'm really sorry that I forgot to update you guys...

But hopefully all of you that pre-ordered should have the book now? We posted them out last Monday. Please let me know if there's any problems.

Thanks so much!

hope some Mellotron t shirts make it to the store

yes, please!

I'm putting them up this week as soon as I get the artwork from VitP. Some of the sizes sold out and we'll be ordering some more along with the mugs which were very popular.

Great fun gig and great to meet lots of Frosties.

Don't suppose there'll be any more black shirts in medium?
