Just seen on 'the twitter' that you can now pre-order JM's solo album under the Lonely Robot name from Amazon

Apparently he missed a deadline to get stuff to Nellie, so this is the first place he's posted a link to.
Release date is Jan 26th.
Thanks for that. I think I'll use that as the back-up plan if Nellie can't get copies before the release date.
I preordered from Burning Shed - you get a signed card too :)

Just ordered from The Merch Desk :)
To get a preview then buy the new Prog Magazine - Obstruct/Construct is track 4 and probably the best track on the cover CD.
Although with the mag at £7.99 you should just head to the Merch Desk and buy ;)
Yes, that track is a cracker, isn't it? Very It Bites. 8)
Was it this track? http://youtu.be/vaIibKtleJY (http://youtu.be/vaIibKtleJY)
really can't wait.
Psst!

Grats!! ;D

Anyone know if JM plans a Bandcamp release? I'm one of these heretics that loves a download. :)
Another, not very surprising, comment from Blunders when I saw him the other week was that the album is absolutely brilliant and that fans of JM's other work will not be disappointed. 8)
I just got an email from Burning Shed to say my name will be on a list on the door 8)

See you both there - I'm now feeling guilty about pre-ordering it from Nellie and not Burning Shed!!! :-[
Not really ;D
Jelly! Call John a swede for me, please. ;D
You can download from iTunes I think.
I'm afraid I don't have any tickets :(

Did anyone on here enter and not win? If so, I can try and get one of my 'tickets' reallocated to you.
Heard a track on Prog Britania over at progrock.com yesterday. Really good! Aparently featuring Helen Findley, although I thought it was Kim Seviour, but then my old man's a mushroom so what do I know. lol. Can't wait to hear the album. One of the highlights of 2015 me thinks.

That'll be Heather's sister then? ;)
ffs. Lol. That's the one. Well who ever it was it sounded like Kim Seviour to me. :)
Lonely Robot has landed! 8) More after a few listens.

Yes - in good time before Monday's launch - thank you Nellie :D
Landed here too, thanks Nellie :)
Indeed, very prompt service, and a signed postcard as a bonus! Also got Dec's new album too, just to keep the frosted theme :)
This is just so, so good. Album of the Year.
After days of checking my postbox for my copy I started to think I should pester Nellie to get on and send it. Best check the order went through OK first, of course, I thought - only to find it still sat in the cart on The Merch Desk unordered! Drat and double drat!
Had a good night last night at the Lonely Robot Launch, it was good to see Tim, Julie, Bob, Vit P , had a quick chat with Blunders said hello to Jem. Had a brief chat with Jerry Ewing who said he might need some photos for a website post so when I got back to the hotel I had to figure out how I was going to get my photos off my camera without having my laptop with me!
Managed to do a bit of processing to the RAW images in camera and convert them to jpg, then sent them using my camera's WIFI to the Canon EOS remote app on my phone, saved them to my phone then emailed them to myself so that I could check them on the bigger screen of my kindle Fire HD. I then emailed them off to prog magazine and here are a couple used in Jerry's review of the night:

Very cool! 8) Good quality too given the unconventional methods involved to get them from your camera to Prog!
Just giving Lonely Robot it's first spin. It came on Monday but I haven't had chance to play it yet. Now here I am wide awake at 3:30 AM and it's just looking at me saying "Go on! Play me!". The end of track one is positively freeky. I think I'm going to enjoy this. I seem to hear a lot of Gem in the production, and that dark feel that JM does so well is very apparent. Right, I'll stop typing and listen. :)
Ah! I was right. Refering to a previous comment of mine, it is Kim Seviour on Oubliette. The DJ on the Progrock.com show was in error. :) This is a super album. :) Peter Cox! Bloody inspired! :)

Yes it is Kim on Oubliette, they did a great stripped down version of it at the launch party :)
Excellent, Mike!!
Enjoying this one.
Very Kino sounding to me, with a bit of Frost* at the start.
Anyone know anything about tour dates yet? I've been offline.
John will be tied up with Arena for a while (anyone going?) so it can't be too soon.
No dates mentioned, but he sounded keen to get it on the road :)

but every year gets a December, and we ain't had this one yet.
Just started listening this new agey concentration & focus thing, to get my head wrapped around some complex gubbins. I know; don't judge me.
I did not, however, expect to have Mr Mitchell enter the room at a glacial pace and creep up on me. Is that "Humans Being" I'm hearing in the opening minute or two of this?

Does rather sound like the same chord progression doesn't it?
Humans Being is obviously played at a much faster tempo but I can see why you thought that.
It's a pretty common 3 chord progression (basically variations around Am - Em - F) so no more than coincidence I suspect! 8)

Sure, but there are other notes going up and down at the right time (sorry for the technical terminology: I'm a musical consumer, not producer :P), which make it much more similar than that, I reckon. Yes, it's way slower, but ...
I was assuming as much, it wasn't as if it was an exact slowed down copy... still, did make one do a brief double-take :D
Now, if it had sounded like some of Jem's really expensive chords... ;D
Eb min dim7th add9 to G aug sus4 to C# min 6th/A you mean? Simples... :o
