Other Bands / Re: Mike Portnoy quits Dream Theater
September 09, 2010, 11:16:40 PM
I am a diehard Dream Theater fan, I mean hell they are my number 1 favorite band. But as far as creativeness the last good genuinely good album was Octavarium. It will be interest to see as this all plays out. Personally I think I will be back within one albums time. Though I would have to say that with him and Avenged Sevenfold there is gonna be some good shit from them. Hell their new album kicks ass! Whatever way he goes I still wish him the best and hope he's happy with the musical direction he decides to take.

Speaking of Doctor Who, I saw the coolest thing yesterday! //http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdrqdW4Miao&feature This is a video of a guy using two Tesla Coils to play the Doctor Who theme. When I first saw it, the video appealed to every level of nerd that I am.

Quote from: "Jem"It's a lament for the loss of the past, but in reverse. We are travelling backwards in time at that point, as you'll notice from the "2009" and "2008" headers in the lyrics .  :D

No, really.

Very cleaver sir!

Any Other Business / Re: One time, at Band Camp
June 04, 2010, 09:09:21 AM
I have been in band camp for damn near 7 years, 5 of which I was a student and 2 I was drill instructor. When you normally hear that phrase, bad things follow that!

Ask Frost* / Re: Snowman/Gabriel Mashup
April 08, 2010, 01:20:15 AM
I was rather impressed by the new version of Snowman as well. As soon as i listened to the whole thing i immediately edited the songs. They went on my ZuneHD as soon as I could get home, lol. My question is would the new version Snowman of and The Dividing Line count as an EP?

On a different note , I blown away with TDL, the whole feel of the song and the fluidness of it, thank you very much Jem and company. The favorite thing is the backward bit going into the end of the song. Its different but in a good way!

WOW! So is this effecting just rural areas in the UK? I know out where I live, in the middle of no where, it took them 3 years before we could even get broadband internet. When we finally got it we payed almost 1k to have the wires run to our house and the filter boxes and so on.... but 56000 pounds...... Thats crazy!

Other Bands / The Bruised Romantic Glee Club
March 03, 2010, 06:01:17 AM
I just wanna open with saying, baring the name, this album is one of the best I have heard in a while. It's nothing but good 'ole Prog at its best. The artist goes by a pseudonym, Jakko M. Jakszy, his real name though is Michael Lee Curran. I came across this album when I was looking up songs by Gustav Holst. What caught my attention was the second song off the album, it is called "Variations on a Theme by Holst". So I downloaded the album and by the third song I bought the CD off Amazon. And let me tell you it does not disappoint! So for all the you ProgHeads and ProgDog its a damn good album and one worth looking into :D
