Completely bored on Sunday, and the fiancee was chopping through the channels, and this was on, and it turned out to be the final, so left it on.

3 bands/singer/songwriters there, 2 of which were Scottish (one of the main reasons I left on  )

The first band, Hip Parade (one of the Scottish ones), were the kinda music I was expecting, jumpy, catchy, indie pop in the style of The Fratellis etc:

Now, the other two I really weren't expecting, the Scarlot Harlots, jungle/drum n bass type stuff, was surprised that something like that got through to the final:

And the last one was the other Scottish finalist, Tommy Reilly, which is a folky/poppy/rock-esque type of stuff, which I thought was pretty good

Tommy Reilly won it, and now, while I wouldn't go out and buy an album of his, I certainly wouldn't change the radio station if it was on.

The Cosmic Lawnmower

This is the best Britian's got to offer??

I thought they were all pretty terrible, especially the singer/songwriter Scots guy, I've seen better bands down the pub!

Oh well JMHO

Bokkie

Don't worry guy's, on those commercial and even public channels they always broadcast the crap. For real good stuff you will have to go to your local pub or myspace.
If wishes where horses, we\'re all been eating steak.

Ecosse

I'm not saying that these are the best guys out there, my point was that Tommy Reilly & the Scarlot Harlots were a surprise to me to see bands like them in the final of a public voted competition.
