Quote from: CompleteCycle on May 28, 2016, 04:39:35 PMregarding clipping I hear a wall of sound on heartstrings but there is no actual clipping or intersample peaks.

It is mastered loud (about -8db rms) but that's average for Big Bands, I prefer around -11db

There might not be IS clips there, but it can definitely be heard compressors are working too hard and as result things are being squashed much more than necessary (at moments I got throwbacks on those horribly destroyed crash cymbals on EIMA - although not THAT bad).

I'd love to hear a HD mix (96k/24-bit) that doesn't squash things to oblivion but lets dynamics breathe some...

Must say the album isn't nearly as catchy as the previous two are... It will definitely need several going through to appreciate.

But I had really hoped there'd be less loudness war on this album. Clipping is pretty nasty in several places :(

Well, did you check Elektron Analog Four? It does have some cool ideas.

Also, Schmidt 8-voice is innovating, at least in a no-compromise concept. There's no analog synth with THAT kind of structure, for sure!

If we can get Jem to watch this video I can guarantee he will buy one

http://youtu.be/C1Pl83oqGhg

Warning: contains vintage synths, BBC Radiophonic and Doctor Who.

He will probably buy one anyway, but this will clinch the deal, I'm sure...

He'll sell it anyways, so why bother. :D

I'm getting that Sub 37, it's soooo amazing!

Should've gotten the OASYS. That was a stellar deal.

Yes, it is heavy, but it's built so much better than M3 and Kronos.

"Pro Tools 11, now doing what every other DAW was able to do in 2007. The game has CHANGED! *big_hit_1.aif**dubstep fadeout*"

Pretty much. Avid irritates me to no end.

Sib7 runs pretty fine on my i5 Toshiba laptop. I have 8 gigs of DDR3 RAM on it, though. :)

Grab it at the next sale.

Another way of getting it cheaper is trying to dig out Kontakt 1 on eBay (can be had real cheap), and then you crossgrade to the latest version.

Correct on both accounts. He also scripted some Sonokinetic, Cinesamples, and some other Kontakt libraries as well.

I, on the other hand, am linked with Hollow Sun (and some other libraries too). :)
