Title: Everything Must GO! *** STARTS JULY 6TH ***
Post by: Jem on June 15, 2009, 06:44:29 PM
We're about to launch the great "Great Frost Woolworths Bargain Bin Extravaganza!". Everything must go!! And I really mean that.

To assist in a speedy clearout, every single thing we have for sale will now be at a single fixed price of £5 : This includes the remaining DT tour CD's (45 minutes of us at RoSFest), all t-shirts, beanies etc...everything will be available for £5 inc P+P until it runs out. Whereupon I shall take the box and give it to my young son who will promptly turn it into a robot and chase his sister about until she cries, prompting me to intervene and deploy Cadbury's Chocolate Finger calming/bribery solutions...

Some of the bigger items will have £1 P+P attached, but that will clearly be indicated at the time.

More details of what's left in stock will be available just as soon as I can get this stuff to Nellie who will be kindly and bravely taking care of getting this stuff out to you. Hopefully within a week we should be up, running and ready to take your orders either via post, Paypal or via the webshop. There are some bizarre rarities in there too such as our Frosterisk backdrop, EIMA promo discs that I signed, some ProTools backups, my mastering listening copy of EIMA that came back from Turan Audio prior to duplication and various other Frost curios that might be of interest to collectors or cunning eBayers. Anyway, it's all yours for a fiver if you want it. :D  :D

Yes, something like this would be nice, to give everyone a fair chance. But maybe it won't be possible.

A hint at the start time would be good, then we could all rush in like they do in Selfridges on Boxing day.

I'm 100% for fairness. This is supposed to be a good, happy thing. Not a scary, grumpy thing.

Tell you what, let us get a list together of what's what and then let's think about how we get it out to you.

But the £5 limit still applies.

Whaddya fink?  :D

Hurrah, a new T and the live sampler for me!

How about for things like the backdrop, the first £5 goes to Jem, thereafter, using the send it on/take a pic format, whoever gets it next puts another £5 towards a charity?

In the case of such an unique item like the backdrop or the Protools backup thing why not go and look for a really worthy charity and put the darn things up for auction with the proceeds going to that charity. I mean, if it is sold for just GBP 5.00 it just seems like a waste of an excellent opportunity.

I'd love to get me grubby mits on the Pro Tools sessions, or one of them anyways.  :D  It's an interesting little concept we're all coming up with, isn't it? I'm all for the charity ideas, but I'm still a bit wary about PayPal. I'd be happy to order anything through the webshop, though.

You wouldn't get this sort of thing anywhere else, would you? I love the Frost*iverse!

I''d rather pay something through Paypal then through a site where I have to leave my cc details. I have used Paypal so often the past few years and never have encountered any problems.

I agree but the problem would be the time it would take to organise and run, mind you I'd happily do that if Jem was up for it.

Curses! I'd love to have a play with the sessions, but I'm in Logic land. Perhaps I need to elope to ProToolsVille! :(

And thank heavens for Twitter and RacingHippo, else I'd have missed this.

Ooh this all sounds very exciting  :)
I'll have to pick me up a copy of the cd, on account of not being able to make the gigs :( although the reason for missing them (download festival) was hardly a bad thing  :P.
I might grab a t-shirt aswell while I'm at it  :D

Everything is in wav format. Not sure but I believe Logic does support broadcast wave
format. They *should* import correctly. If not then I suppose you could always manually
line all those tracks up

Then again PT 8 is beautiful and it would be worth even getting an Mbox Mini to have around.
You could also export the tracks properly to bring into Logic.

I've had a look at the digidesign site, but I can't for the life of me work out how muck I'd need to spend. All I can find is ProTools upgrade packages, but I need the whole thing, not just an upgrade!

And do I have to buy some piece of their hardware? Seems to say that, but it's not too clear.

yeah you have to have an Mbox. that comes with the pro tools software. you need it to run pro tools. you could pay anything from around £100 to £20000 depending on what pro tools set up you go for, but it's well worth the investment. i promse i don't work for digidesign!!!

I think/hope the idea is that Jem can sell it more than once, rather than people bidding or missing out. One could probably encrypt each copy with a password that is Pm'ed to the buyer?
Can't stop the cheaters though, sadly. :(

Looking at it reasonably tho' - would there be 'mass appeal' (ho ho) for the ProTools sessions, other than from members of this 'ere forum?? I'm taking it that there probably wouldn't and therefore the people that want them would be happy to pay as it will help keep Jem doing what we all love - making music.

Glass,

as in empty glass, there could be a race to the fridge as the chilled wine is almost finished.

But there are alternatives  :D

Sorry to run the thread into muddy water, so to speak. Disregard and carry on.

Although the shop is semi-open we have no way of accepting payment until Monday 6th July.
Please feel free to browse, check the shipping details and make your shopping list.

Gah... was hoping to snag a cheap Milliontown CD since I *still* only have it as MP3.

Oh well. So we can't actually reserve anything yet?

I too was hoping to snag a CD of Milliontown, but oh well. Paying full price for it seems more fair to the band for me. Still, a Sp. Ed. EIMA and a Frost*Fest CD for a mate's birthday present is perfect!  :D

Looks like the problem of which T-shirt to buy has been solved too, since there's only one XL one.  :P

It'll be good once all of this is over and sold out, because I'm looking forward to seeing some new designs! (Runs for cover...)

Why were we even able to make purchases from the store if the money would be sent to the wrong place?
I didn't go to the main store page at all, when I woke up this morning I checked my bookmarks of the cd page and the t-shirt page to see if they were on sale yet, and I ordered immediately.  So, because I didn't check the forum or the main store first, I may have lost money?  I should not have been able to make a purchase from the store if it wasn't open.  And why would all of the items be marked at sale price if they weren't even being sold yet?  Also, the store doesn't even say not to order, it just says that the sale begins next Monday and also it says "Please send your order along with your full address to sales@frostmusic.net" .  If that's being sent to the wrong place, then it's a flat out lie on the store page, and not our (the customers who did place orders today) fault for ordering.

hedgeclipper ... Calm down, it doesn't mean you've lost anything. As has been stated elsewhere The Master is on hols and I'm sure he will make sure you receive your order, so don't call the serious fraud squad just yet !  :D

Dave M is right....while it is unfortunate that it became possible to make a payment on the system before things were fully reconfigured how they should be, rest assured that it *will* all get resolved.

I'm not really that angry, I understand it's taking them some time to set up, I'm just saying a lot of confusion could have easily been avoided.

Are there still ROSFest CDs still for sale or are they all gone?

Also when is the Frost* DVD coming out?

And why is the shop link not working?

If you have any problems, first off, please accept my apologies, we're just a small bunch here and we don't do this full time so mistakes will occasionally happen. However, if you mail Nellie at sales@frostmusic.net we can sort everything out.  :D
