If anyone here has an emusic account, the whole entire spanking new album got added today... woo-hoo!
And if you haven't - there's quite literally never been a better time to take the 40-day free trial! 8-)
http://www.emusic.com/dltv (http://www.emusic.com/dltv)
You get 40 DRM free tracks during your free trial and you can cancel and keep them even if you cancel the sub after the trial, so if you can't wait for your CD to turn up you can now download the entire album legitimately!
James (hoping nervously that the band would still get any royalties emusic should pay regardless of whether or not you continue with the service after the free trial.... )

The Tall Ships is on Emusic - 3 ratings and 5 stars
Noice. If you're scrambling to find stuff on Emusic, check out Black Moth Super Rainbow's Dandelion Gum.

Open it with the download software you should have been instructed to get :)
There we go. Thank you kindly.
Edit: Oh this is wonderful. Thank you eMusic. Now I can wait patiently for the Special Edition to come out. :)
They have 'On Your Side' by Magnet. A great introspective singer-songwriter we often play at work. If anyone's looking to use up their freebies, they should check it out, or just listen to the track 'Nothing Hurts Now'.
My copy of EIMA didn't arrive today, so I thought i'd surrender and just take the free download.
That was before I found out that i'm expected to download software from this anonymous site, then give them my credit card details, and make sure I cancel before 14 days and hope they don't start charging my account for 12$ a month (more than that for AU$).
No thanks, I think I can wait!
*twitches*
*checks letterbox for the 32nd time today*

Well you actually don't have to download the software (I didn't...)
And it's a perfectly reputable site like iTunes which has been going for years and years. In fact, I'll let you in on a secret, I actually had one free trial a couple of years ago, cancelled it immediately and never got charged a penny. Planning to do the same again with this subscription... don't tell anyone though.
Nope, didn't need the software.
This'll do for now, that's tonight sorted
Now...where's that rising cloud emoticon?
Ok, thanks for the info guys. If it doesn't arrive today I might bite the bullet.
My City was declared a natural disaster area yesterday, so I don't really like my chances!
^ That's a right laugh, that one is!
Tell that to Australia Post :D
The street I live on was literally a river on Sunday avo, so yeah. When it does arrive I expect it will be soggy and covered in all kinds of dirt and soot. :|
No one's had any credit card issues, right? No theft?
No.... not 2 years ago, not now either!

But do the band get anything from it?
I hope everyone on the forum has ordered the album anyway, so our shekels are going in the right direction

I would hope everyone has too - I only did the emusic download because of the delay in getting the CD - I'm now on my 8th time through it :D
Highlights for me are definitely Welcome to Nowhere and Dear Dead Days. The secret song is growing on me too :)
It's a good question - and I felt okay about posting the link because I knew that most of the people here have already ordered the CD.
As far as I can make out, they should get just as much from each download as any other online music store (probably not much compared to a CD sale, but something at least.)
I doubt eMusic only pay royalties on tracks which people buy with their paid credits rather than free trial credits... seems like a real hassle to work out. Hope I'm not wrong!
I cant see a definitive answer to this so ...
What happens when you cancel your subscription ... is the music coded somehow, or does it remain playable ?
If thats the case, why is it so cheap compared to itunes / seven etc ?
It remains playable... I still have my MP3s of Milliontown from the first trial! :D
I guess it's cheaper because they mostly have independent labels on there, which I guess they can negotiate better deals with. Try finding the latest chart topping smash on there and you might be out of luck however...
well ive cracked i dont realy like useing these sites but ive downloaded eima i thougt its only fair as ive paid for the cd but still cant listen to it
