Guys and gals - whats the general consensus of the Travelodgery? I'm about to book our room, and Kingston Central is about double the price of the Chessington Tolworth one, but it'd be worth it if it afforded an increased chance of a meet up with Frosties* pre/post gig - especially if the curry house is nearby. Also it's staggering distance from The Peel looks better, which may be an important factor :D
I seem to remember Pedders saying that parking is a bit hit and miss with the Central Travelodge though??
So who's staying where? Sorry if this has already been posted elsewhere in the forum - I've had a look around but couldn't dig up the info!
I was driving back home after the gig but things seem to be changing so a stayover looks on the books.
Looking at the travelodges myself. I think Mouse stayed in the central one last time. I know i parked in the car park alongside it.

Didn't have any trubshaw parking last time I stayed there if I recall... or was that the old central one?
I have only stayed at the nearest travel lodge once and you most certainly could NOT park there. I parked near The Peel and walked back to get it the next morning. This was several years ago now tho.
I am thinking about getting accommodation too even though I am relatively local. If I drive I can't drink and if I get public transport I may miss Cosmic Lawnmower doing his thing again (or whatever may happen this year).

Booked in at Kingston Central. Can have beer and food for a change rather than rush home. Bonus!

There's a gurt big car park just over the road from the hotel. Have a look on Google Streetview. We parked there when we stayed at the Central. That was a Saturday and we nearly parked in the underground bit which would have been locked until Monday (or something) so read the signage.
There's a multi story next door to the Kingston Central travelodge as well.

daughter and i are staying at KT2 6ND travelodge. Dont think its teh central one.
Its not that far away.

Just trying to book a hotel. Travelodge has jumped from £25 on Wednesday to £52 today.

The 2 Kingston T/lodges are just across the road from each other. Less than 2 minute walk between 'em. The car park was a bit confusing as it charges a half hourly rate (£1) during the day in the surface car park, then a night rate between 6.30 and 10.30pm (£2). After that I couldn't quite work out. The surface car park is out of bounds on Monday morning as they have a market there.
I left my car on a back street near the Peel and walked back. It takes about 15 minutes withour beer goggles and in a straight line. ;)
Huzzah! Mrs Sawtooth and me booked into Kingston Central then. Bring it on! :D
Finally booked Travelodge Kingston Central. Bloody server kept crashing.
Hopefully the bed is firmer that the one at Chessington Tolworth. That one swallowed me like a clam.
The Gig BuddyTM nearly choked with laughter when I couldn't get out again.

The gentle nudging of the bear wouldn't have any effect. When my house was re-roofed a few years back I worked night shifts. I managed to sleep through the tiles being taken off, battens nailed back on, and the new tiles being cut with a petrol disc cutter. Outside the bedroom window.

Seems I underestimated the popluarity of the TravelSplodges.
Me and Mrs P are in the Antoinette Hotel on Beaufort Road. No idea what to expect, except it seems to be reasonably near and it was cheap.

There's one like that in Glasgow. The trick is to find the constant radius and once found, keep the steering wheel in the same place. It's almost impossible to avoid curbing as the way the slope of the spiral and the the fact that you can't see the wheels from where you're sitting means that (I find anyway) there's no point of reference. You kind of have to point and hope, go slow and if you feel the wheel moving in your hand adjust accordingly, but not too violently as all that will happen is you'll curb the other side.
Nightmare.
