Next CRS Gig : MANNING + Matt Stevens In Concert
Please join the CRS and ourselves at the last of the Spring Season concerts on Saturday June 16th at the Wesley Centre, Maltby
As we have now announced personnel changes coming later in the year, this will be the last opportunity to see the current (and excellent IMO) line-up in action at one of our favourite venues.
Joining us as our special guest guitarist extraordinaire Mr Matt Stevens
MANNING were very pleased to be placed in the top ten at the last CRS BOTYs awards in four categories
Best Gig
Best Vocalist
Best Album
Best Bass Player
So come along for a healthy platter of stories and music

Hoping to be there :D
By pure coincidence I will be in N. Yorkshire that week. I'm wondering if I can sneak away and get here.
It seems like too good an opportunity to miss, but I also feel bad about abandoning my parents (and possibly Mrs Nev) when we are only visiting them for a short time.
This possibly calls for some sneaky diplomacy
Bring 'em along Nev!
We'll nice melodic stuff and I'll tell them a few tall tales! :D
Anyhow whatever happens..nice thought!
Tickets purchased for Mrs Nev and I :D
We'll have a day out in either Leeds or York and then go on to the gig in the evening.
I'm looking forward to this :) :) :)
Excellent news! Please come say HELLO!
This Saturday...catch MATT STEVENS fresh from his fantastic appearance at PROGMEISTER 2 :D
Anyone else going?

I was :D
My first encounter with the Wesley Centre.
Quaint makes it sound olde worlde......shoebox was the only word that came to mind last night.
OK it would be a large shoe box, but those are the sort of dimensions that it had.
Don't know if they normally use the stage, but the floor of the hall was used by the band last night.
The evening kicked off with Matt Stevens, my main reason for being there, described last night as a one man orchestra, but more of a one man Californian Guitar Trio would be slightly more accurate. If you haven't seen or heard Matt, you're missing out. Go out and buy some now. In fact you don't even need to go out to buy some. Amazing to watch him play live.
@ Matt, do you break a string every night, or only when I go?
Manning were the main turn, all 300 of them in a very small space, OK 9, of which there were between 6 & 8 playing at any one time. I'm sure that I've heard some Manning before but can't recall anything that was played last night,
@ me, find where you filed your Manning.
Quite a mix of material judging by the introductions. Shall definitely be indulging in some purchases.
A very enjoyable evening, to me a disappointing attendance, but not sure what the norm is for the Wesley Centre. It's an easy place to find and easy to get to from the M1 & M18. Plenty of parking close to the venue.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have now released 12 of my own albums..so lots of back catalogue and tracks to choose a set from :D
Audience sizes are funny some times you can have loads of people there and little reaction and other (like last night) a goodly number but a really nice attentive and appreciative crowd!
Matt and our gang will be repeating the experience in 2 weeks at the famous MET in Bury if anyone wants to come along..our last before the Summer break!
May see you there!

Sorry about the white heads. The contrast was too great for my poor little Canon camera to cope with (or maybe it was just the numpty behind the camera - me).
Regardless of picture quality, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and I enjoyed my little chat(s) with Matt. :D :D
I also inaugurated my TPE T-Shirt - so it was quite an event ;)
Nice work, thanks for sharing.
I wish camera manufacturers were required to rate their cameras on gigability. :)
Quote from: "Nev"Sorry about the white heads.
Why? I'm not on there. Whitehead's white head isn't shining

Ah, that was you in the bog then.

I confess I did have to make space for some additional liquid intake ;)

If it means the volcano in Iceland erupts again and traps me in Spain for an extra couple of weeks, I suppose i'll have to live with the disappointment.
& York is prone to flooding
& invasion by Vikings, Romans etc etc.......tourists
Are there any more possibilities that we need to double bluff?
Morning Guy. Get the biccies in.
A mouse has been at them
