Indeed, very sweet. And so are his two Emotional Creatures albums which are again proof that it is all about writing good songs and not who has the flashiest solo's / time signatures etc. I have heard him perform some of his songs just as voice + acoustic guitar and they still stood up.

But, all of those musicians on his albums are absolutely the icing on the cake... the people involved read like a who-is-who of progland.

Steve Thorne is the support for It Bites on Sunday 21st at The Peel.
He works live to a backing CD but it works well - saw him at the CRS Awards last year. Very good.   :)

Although I understand why is using his hard-drive on stage for playing the backingtracks I would love to see him with a full and competent band one day.

My guitarist/bassist gigbuddy and I saw him supporting It Bites at the back end of last year, and whilst we thought his material, playing and singing was exceptional... we were both agreed that he'd be so much better with a live band.
We nearly offered.

He has enough Prog mates on the CDs to be able to cobble a band together, I'd have thought!

Well, I spoke to him this afternoon, so unless you know something I don't, he's still alive and plucking.

Listened to his CD yesterday afternoon & thoroughly enjoyed it. A bonus that it drowned out the drone of the Mother in Law yapping :D
