Us 3 will be there, who else is going?
So very tempting. But I think I already agreed to go to Paris with a friend for the weekend. :?
Mind you it's Andy's last gig isn't it... hmmm.
Got my ticket in November but since playing the cd my 10 year old son wants to come so ticket ordered last night.
Mmm subliminal prog brainwashing me thinks.
So one large and one small in attendance!
Just a bit worried about him being able to see.
Go on then. You persuaded me. :D
I'll bring Mrs Bert aka "2nd hand Prog" too.
Me! Can't wait... :D
So, Frostie* East Anglians taking over the CRS is it??
I'll be there reprazentin for the London posse.
Trying to decide whether our poor ol' prog-mobile will make it that far. I would take the train but its a bit of a palaver from our end with several changes. We would really like to (assuming there are still tickets?) but its a fair trek from the IW in a not so well 1.4 Astra!
Hmmmmmmm :?

I don't know about tickets do you have to phone up (in which case I doubt there's anyone there to answer the phone) or can you book online?
Just checked you can book online and tickets are still showing as available

Well in that case, after The Peel, surely it would only be fitting for anyone (at either the CRS Awards or the Tinyfish gig) who finds themselves adjusting any sort of fastener in the groin area to be expected to spare a thought for you. :)
Santa bought me a ticket for Christmas!!!! (Thank you Mrs Buddy) :D
So Mr Shed and myself shall be in attendance.

He'd certainly love to go, but I'd be concerned about loudness, lateness and general suitability of environment to a 6yo.

I don't know if it's the music or the audience that scare her most. She's aware it's going to be hard to find a size 10 t-shirt in the unlikely event she wants one. (She's a soul and disco girl at heart, and thinks Frost songs are great but wishes a rock band hadn't done them)

I'd say bring her with you, if she likes the music anyway I don't see a problem. Besides the more women there are at a gig the better, there are precious few women coming to prog gigs as it is, more would be welcome even if she is more of a Soul/Disco girl.

No nominations, all the members vote as they see fit, the votes are totalled, most votes win, except the best bass player award which automatically goes to JJ.

As much as I'm extremely keen on going, my daughter has informed me over Christmas that she is moving flats on that weekend and needs help with the heavy lifting :| , yeah, cheers for that...
Kinda puts me in a pickle :?
I can see I'm probably gonna have to go with the heavy lifting lest I find myself a family pariah!
Not a problem if you can persuade her to move to a flat in the Wath area.
Already I detect an issue, problem & Wath
Famous people with links to Wath
William Hague, the former leader of the Conservative Party and current shadow Foreign Secretary, was a pupil at Wath Comprehensive School at the time when he made his famous maiden political speech at the Conservative Party conference, aged 16.
Peter Hardy, Baron Hardy of Wath was born and educated in Wath, and was the local Labour MP for many years.
Ian McMillan, poet and so-called Bard of Barnsley, was educated at the town's secondary school in the days when it was a Grammar School.
Lucy Clarkson, former Lara Croft Tomb Raider model, was born in Wath-upon-Dearne and educated at Wath Comprehensive School.
David Bret, one of Britain's leading show business biographers, was born in Paris but adopted into a family (Spurr) here. He attended Wath Grammar School between 1961-6.
Not really much help am I?
Just got my 2nd ticket this morning so my son will now definately be coming.
Maplins (electronics) also have their head-office in Wath.
See eveyone at the gigs. Get there nice and early folks!
Happy New Year!

Really don't think I can make this one, for a variety of reasons. Which is a blooming shame. :(

Have had a look on the Montgomery Hall site in the section with info for bands and the max ticket amount is 275 so sounds like theres a fair few left. :o
Fogey, will you be wearing your liquorice allsorts at the CRS gig? If not, how will we recognise you?
According to the CRS website, none other than the mighty Steve Hackett will be presenting the awards. Blimey!
I shall see those you going there, just sorted out my ticket and travel arrangements :D

I can recommend a nice cup of tea (or beverage of her preference) in bed in the morning. I always feel much more kindly disposed to my husband if he brings me a cup of tea in bed.
my other half let me sleep in til 11;30 today (of course i did do the breakfast shift of 7 - 8:30 but the thought was there!) i'd do just about anything for a few hours extra kip (except empty the eco waste bucket into the compost bin. uck thats a mans job!)

In a never-to-be-repeated attack of taking a thread back on-topic I'd like to say that Mrs Tom (or Vicky to use the more formal address) will be joining me and dad...and you lot...at Wath on Saturday.
So don't let me down you lot.
It's for the rest of the CRS audience to do that. :-)
Update from the CRS:
It is absolutely important that if you don't have a ticket for Awards Night you buy it immediately as we are now down to under FIFTEEN tickets remaining. Once they are gone, they are gone and there will be none on sale on the door.
We do expect this night to sell out and will announce on the site the minute it does.
Many, many thinks to those who've PMed or chirped in here.
Alas, it ain't a go-er for us. Magenta are on at 7, awards 8 until 9-ish, some other band* at 9.30-ish.
Given that the lad is usually asleep by 7.30, we'd have a devil of a job keeping him entertained through the (boring for a 6yo) awards, especially as he'd be getting very crotchetty*. And it'd cost us a lot for an event he won't definitely enjoy.
I've pondered sneaking over after the festivities here, but I would probably get there after 9.30 anyway :(
I shall be thinking of you all.... someone text me with all the awards that our lads have won, ok?
* Probably dotted-crotchetty, this being prog.
I will also need someone to give me a blow-by-blow account of the evening's merriment seeing as I will be stuck at home several hundreds of miles away due to lack of funds.
I'll never forgive you lot if you go for a curry without me.

It'll be their first experience of Frost* live, but both of 'em are fans of Milliontown. I don't think they've heard EIMA yet so that should wake 'em up with a bang. It'l be like being slapped around the ears with a baseball bat that's been soaked in a barrel o' prog. ;)

Sorry, I'm not going to be able to make this one - spoiling my attendance record, having been at the last 3 Frost* gigs. Have a great time all of you and say thanks and bye to Andy from me. :(
Hope Frost* win best album, best band, and the band members get best keyboard player, best guitarist, best male vocals, best drummer, best goose-flirting, best anti-Mellotron campaign, etc (no point in mentioning best bass player - it's in the bag, as every year ;) )

Being a CRS virgin, is there a local hostelry where it's ritual to meet up beforehand ? Or is it beers at the gig ?
I have told my son to fill his pockets with Tunnocks in case he meets the band. It has to be done as its the polite thing to do.
The only problem is i do have a liking for Tunnocks so they may not survive the night
