Title: Mobile broadband
Post by: Cptncanary on March 18, 2009, 03:28:13 PM
Deos anyone here use mobile broadband for their home www connection? I'm miles from my local exchange, but there's mast aplenty just up the road.

Yes, I use 3 mobile.  As opposed to a landline connection, because I live in wonderful Hull we only have 1 isp who can offer a landline connection and cannot have anyone else!!!!

So I went to 3 as it was a lot cheaper, but also a lot sloooooowerrrrr....

I'm looking to get into a plan myself that would cover the entire northeast and maybe
part of the mid west U.S. sometime by summer.

That's exactly what I've got! Even though my connection sometimes likes to randomly disconnect itself from existence for no reason whatsoever, I think I'd rather have it than join the dastardly Karoo network.

Yes I know what you mean, but still a nice feeling when you give two fingers to the evil that is karoo.

I bet everyone outside Hull is wondering what the hell we are going on about!

As in...

There's a one-eyed yellow idol to the north of Khatmandu,
There's a little marble cross below the town;
There's a broken-hearted woman tends the grave of Mad Carew,
And the Yellow God forever gazes down.

Right?

I'm lost on this one, I don't think Hullians can understand the exotic world outside the city walls.  8-)

As I see it it's up to 2Meg broadband with a right un-generous cap for shedloads of cash. Homepage powered by the 1980's. Is that a close evaluation?

Bloody hell, it's a long time since I heard that!
Pedro, your memory - and ability to dredge stuff up from it given the most tenuous of links - is astounding.

In my mind, they're more like the S.P.E.C.T.R.E. organisation from the 007 films.  8-)

Tinky-Winky.

Laa-laa was yellow, female, and had a ball, Po was small, female and red, and had a scooter and Tinky-Winky was the big purple (male) one with a red handbag. Dipsy was male, green, and had a rather fetching black and white cow-print top hat. He was obviously the rocker of the group as it looked like something that Slash might well have worn.

I always liked Noo-Noo (the blue vacuum cleaner that made slurping noises) best.

I was compared to Noo-Noo the other night, after I'd had a large burger and chips and half of someone else's burger and chips down a pub in Leeds.

I ate the bloke's half-burger and chips with permission.  8-)

No, in fact I felt great! Althought it did remind me that I'm a fat bastard who likes his food too much...  :)

On the very, very rare occasions that I shop for clothes when asked about what size I'm after I generally ask...."Do you do this in fat bastard?" There, see, it's now an official clothing size.
I actually went clothes shopping on Wednesday and tried several pairs of jeans and trousers on that were all 38" waist. Strange how some pairs of 38" trousers were smaller than some 36" ones. To think I was daft enough to believe that an inch was a fixed, constant unit of measurement......silly me.....

Yep, she is.
And voiced by (ex) CBeeBies presenter Pui, no less.

(Edited for spelling and cuz I just read that she'd left CBeeBies)
