I can't stop laughing too! Curse you, Epo!
My god... It's ridiculous... ahaha...
Well, that one certainly sucks...
Never mind that, did you know a raincoat is a waterproof or water-resistant coat worn to protect the body from rain? The term rain jacket is sometimes used to refer to raincoats that are waist length. A rain jacket may be combined with a pair of rain pants to make a rain suit.
Modern raincoats are often constructed of breathable, waterproof fabrics such as Gore-Tex and coated nylons. These fabrics allow some air to pass through, allowing the garment to 'breathe' so that sweat vapour can escape.
Important styles of raincoat, often associated with particular manufacturers, include:
Mackintosh, rubberised cloth
Gannex
Waxed jacket (e.g. made in UK by Barbour and Burberry)
Anorak, derived from traditional Inuit designs
Cagoule, also Cagoul, Kagoule, Kagool
Poncho
Sou'wester
Trench coat
K-way
Driza-Bone, Australian oiled cotton
Maybe you should buy one ...just for your laptop in case it's raining wine again. :)
fair point!
A Mac mac?
I've seen that amusing Mellotron film before and thought that it was on the rather excellent 3 CD + 1 DVD + extensive booklet collection from OHM+ entitled "The Early Gurus of Electronic Music 1948-1980" that I own.
In fact it is not (I just checked), but I'd nevertheless thoroughly recommend getting a hold of this item if you can (I see that it's available on Amazon.com, but not Amazon.co.uk). While it's not exactly something you'd sit and listen to with it in the background, it's an essential guide to how the envelope of music was pushed by early pioneers ranging from Messiaen to Varese, Stockhausen to Reich, Czukay to Xenakis, Schulze to Eno, and many people in between who you've never heard of (as I had not either, just to be clear ;) )
Although it's classical and academic in nature than rather than pop and rock, it nevertheless gives a fascinating insight into the ultimate origin of Jem's widdly-widdlies ... :D
I could have used a raincoat yesterday. I got caught in the middle of a downpour while out walking.
Poncho is a good word. :)
so is taco!
guh guh 8-)
I still like the sound of Mellotron strings and oboes and blah. But since you can get those from most other keyboards nowadays - yeah, burn the b*stards!
Or recycle them, which will be a plus in this economically minded world of ours.

Wasn't it Jem himself who put it in one of his "View from the cube" blogs? Can't arsed to go through them all just to check but, I've seen it before as well.

Yeah, could be: it was within the last year or so, I suspect (although tempus fugit and all that).

Well, the older you get, the faster it flies (or so I'm told).
