I'll save the show commentary for the other thread. I just wanted to take a moment to personally thank you guys for (1) making the long trip over and working your asses off preparing for the show; but more so for being so accessible and friendly afterward.
It was a huge thrill to meet Nick D'Virgilio, being that he is one of the most talented people on the planet. He was gracious enough to do the meet 'n' greet thing and I did my best not to blather on and on about his sheer awesomeness. I'm sure he gets enough of that. Anyone who hasn't heard his 'Rewiring Genesis' album, buy it. Buy it now. Thank you, Nick.
JJ - Great to meet you, finally, after all of our forum correspondence. You waved and mugged for my camera before you even knew who I was - signs of quality. Or mental disorder. Either way, much thanks to you, kind Sir.
JM - While I didn't get to speak to you personally, it was great of you to be seated at the table I happened to be standing behind when the camera flashes started going off. How many people take time out of their day to do that? =) You had to have been exhausted, so let me just say your presence was greatly appreciated.
Dec - I didn't get to speak to you at the table (my wife did), so I'm glad I got to hang out with you back at the hotel lounge. My wife had fallen asleep, as we'd been up 20 hours straight by then, and my eyes were completely bloodshot, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity. Even when I steered you to the VIP party you ended up back in the lounge with us lowly commoners. Thank you for the bonus chat time and for being a most pleasant, down to earth guy.
Jem - Great to meet you at the table and again in the hotel lounge later. I was searching for something clever to say when we were standing at the bar, but it seems I'm used to having hours to think something up! It's just astonishing that you pulled off this immense undertaking  working the schedule you worked, flying here and practicing endlessly, buying flowers, playing for two hours, meet 'n' greet, after party... How you manage to do all the things you do is one of the world's great mysteries. And just when you think Jem couldn't possibly do anything more: custom band member intros!
It was all well worth it for me. An excellent show and fine gentlemen, all.
WORD++
a true pleasure, through and through. you are all top gents.
agreed. it was an honor to see you guys perform and be able to shake your hands and say hi.
Gr8gonzo, thanks for the warm welcome as soon as i sat down. What a coincidence two Frosties would end up sitting together. Roger, thanks for the warm welcome in the forum and at the show, you both are awesome.
Frost*, please consider coming back again. I will fly out again without a doubt. Jem, you ARE a lion, nice to have met you after the show.

FRoSt*Fest 2009 (//http://picasaweb.google.com/etaoing/FrostAtRoSFest?feat=directlink) 8-)
Nice work guys, really getting a nice picture of the event through all this. :)
It's really only fair that once you finally got a North American gig it should be a kickass one. I'm very happy you all had such a great time - and not at all envious!
...or maybe I'm extremely envious...
My God, too much to recount! I was leery about this trip, never having met any of you and now I am ever so grateful to know you all, truly and sincerely. So may hugs and so many smiles! I count each and every person I met as a friend and I hope I am the same to you all. Next stop, England!!! Warmly, Cairn
I am a crumb.
Cairn, it was a pleasure to meet you, as well. You never know how people are in the real world, so when you crawled under the table and your head popped up between Jem and JM, I knew you'd fit in perfectly. :D
Welcome to the silliness. It's good to be a crumb.

yeah, but you're MY beautiful crumb!! 8-)

One of the happiest moments in memory. :D
What in God's sweet name am I trying to do in this picture?????
This forum tends to somehow end up with pictures of people pulling faces they've never pulled before... It happens to me all the time! I've given up hope of ever looking like myself in a picture posted here! (;-)
Welcome aboard! Don't worry, you won't be a crumb for long! Little crumbs grow up and become proper biscuits!
Thanks Philly! I hope beyond hope to become something chocolatey and possibly squishy! Thanks kindly for the warm welcome and the sympathy!

I think we caught you trying to enjoy your ice cream. Once you sunk into the chair next to Mrs. Cottingham with that little bowl, you looked like you didn't have a care in the world. What a lovely little street corner that is. Hated to leave, really.
Maybe I was trying to cover up one of those nasty brain freezes1 If so, then i must look like that often! :) I did love that little place. i would go back to that town again just for the heck of it. it had good vibes and the trees were incredible, i love trees!
Oh, I know! The trees were amazing. I was informed that what I thought were cherry trees were actually dogwoods. What do I know? I'm not a veterinarian.
A couple more pics from the meet 'n' greet:

Cairn, it was nice to have met you. It was nice to have met everyone, thanks for the pics!
Once again, Frost* brings people together!
Thanks guys for a jaw dropping astonishing show, and for taking the time to hang out and chat a bit during what must have been a crazy week!

I'm glad and happy you all had a great time! I got over being all bummed out about
not being able to make the show, but that is life. It's all a game of chance.
FWIW one of my friends an I are planning a trip to the UK at some point in the
next couple years so there will be another opportunity to meet some of you
and have a few drinks and RAWK!
The show WAS captured so there's a cd to look forward to,plus all the impending
FROST* reports that I can;t wait to see.
Always good to hear everyone made it back in one piece ;) Have the boys boarded
their plane for a return back to blighty?
It was very nice to meet so many Frosties* (rogerg, Cairn, dtjoez, landslug, Mirror, RobCott, Moo Bass, vkamicht, leelustig - remind me if I've forgotten anyone).
It's so cool that Frost* brought us from all over the country to meet and share this unique experience together.
Bloody hell! :D :D :D How effervescent!
Talking of which...
Effervescence is the escape of gas from an aqueous solution.
In simple terms, it is the result of the chemical reaction occurring in the liquid which produces a gaseous product.
Measuring carbonation
The quality of carbonated beverages including soft drinks, seltzer and beer is affected by the amount of dissolved CO2 (the gas that causes carbonation) and the amount of carbonic acid in the drink. Carbon dioxide (CO2) has an infrared absorption wavelength of 4.27 micrometers and can be measured online using an infrared carbonation sensor. This is an improvement to the traditional inferred measurement method using temperature and pressure for Henry's Law coefficients because this methodology is influenced by changes in density and alcohol content. Infrared measurements are not affected by changes in density or alcohol content because they are actually measuring the CO2 molecule using the Beer-Lambert law. The amount of carbonation in a beverage is measured in Volumes or grams/liter. This is because introducing CO2 into a beverage will change its weight. An easy experiment to prove this is to take a seltzer bottle and weigh it. Carefully remove the top slowly so no liquid escapes from the bottle as the gas escapes the weight of the bottle of seltzer will go down. Shaking the bottle closed and then opening it to remove more CO2 will increase this effect.

Ah cool, so that was you! I'm surprised you know that was me, actually... or did you guess?! I was talking to my friends about the forum Frosties (they have no idea who any of you are) and I was blabbing out names "Oh that's totally rogerg over there!" and then at one point I said "I think gr8gonzo should be here..." heheh :D
Rogerg, I did see you a bunch of times but never got to say hello. Or rather, never worked up the nerve to walk up to a stranger and claim to know who they were...
Jem tried to call security on me for bootlegging a shirt :(
Yes, yes. When we were up by the merchandise table, I commented that I used your Frosterisk for my avatar (still do, on Twitter).
And I ran into you again at the hotel when you were all filtering in for the after party.
Not too shabby, as far as weekends go, eh?

Nope, not one bit. Thanks Frost* for a birthday I'll never forget! ;)

Naw, my fault. I was too busy being starstruck to care though ;) perhaps we'll get another chance to hang out some time? *glares at Jem*
Btw, I hope I'm not the only one that thought this, but when I first saw one of the boys off stage (it happened to be Dec up where I ran into gr8gonzo) my first thought was "damn, they're giants!" I think years of only seeing miniaturized versions of them on my monitor has skewed my perception of them... they actually *are* real, full-sized people!
haha!
well, Dec is rather tall!
Quote from: "vkamicht"I think years of only seeing miniaturized versions of them on my monitor has skewed my perception of them... they actually *are* real, full-sized people!
Actually, they
start the day as miniature people and get bigger later. Didn't you see the "Just add beer" labels on their arms?

I agree with you totally that Nick is very talented. However, his Rewiring Genesis album is the biggest obscenity I have ever heard. If I were part of Genesis I'd insist it was removed from sale THATS how horrible the thing is... Horns and Brass for gods sake and an obscenely poor vocal over an unnecessarily reworked piece of dung (sorry but I really do feel this strongly about the assault on one of the greatest prog albums of all time). He should be shot for what he did to that.
On a brighter note... his work on Kevin Gilberts Shaming of the TRue was excellent, but his solo work was best described as poor and his work with Spocks Beard largely uninspiring... He's no Neal Morse put it that way.
Sure he's a lovely guy... dont really care... Its the product that matters to me and with the exception of finishing off one of the most missed and beloved musicians masterwork (for which I will be eternally grateful to him), he's just another drummer...
Jem please ban me for gods sake...
I find I enjoy snack cakes with peanut butter filling.

Thank god. (lol)

I second this motion. Last I remember you were just bashing EIMA, now you're here to bash Nick. Way to be a grumpy-ass about everything.

Good to see on both sides of the pond! :D
Congrats on a great show
George Roldan from RoSfest has a regular radio show on Fridays (7pm EST/midnight UK time/1am CET).
I'm sure he'll talk a lot about the fest. Please join me in chat, it will be fun (as usual)!

See ya!! 8-)
A thought occurred to me this morning whilst in the shower (no not that...); how is it that Frost can make a one-off quality t-shirt in a limited run, and sell said shirt for a reasonable $25, whereas "big name" acts that print tens of thousands of generic tour shirts price them at $35 and up? I suppose the easy answer is they are greedy gits...
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks Jem and the boys for a qualidee product at a reasonable price! Nicely done!
I may have gone back on topic (kind of) but oh well!
I just want to say thank you for the great music! It is so good!!! Thank you Jem and everyone! I am slowly but surely spreading Frost* around St. Louis! I tell almost everyone I meet about you guys.
I also regret not going into debt to go see you guys at Rosfest lol!! If only I would have had the time and money to go!

I think all of us UK-based Frost*ies are thinking that, too!
