Now you're talking (and so will TBE apparently, although I have no idea what "commentary" really means in this context  )
Whether I can be at any of these is another entirely, unfortunately, given constraints already in place. Hmmm, the Cardiff one with Magenta sounds tasty, if I can get reasonable flights from Amsterdam ... ;)
Not at all sure about the "possibly ever" though, Jem: for this acoustic combo or for the full pomp and circumstance that is Frost*?
Glad you've got it sorted already have ticket for the peel but will come back to Cardiff too :D
With Camera in hand of course assuming that's ok with your good self (Brand spanking new camera too 18mp and full HD video, arriving at my house today :D )

Doesn't it mean that TBE will filling those 'awkward' moments where everyone goes blank, and chipping in with helpful observations such as - this is John tuning a guitar....this is Jem eating a custard cream, which by the way is one of the UK's most popular biscuits and also has extremely good dunking properties......................

Ah! That will be Those Bastard Camels, a Quintet of camel train owners from a secret location in the Middle East who play Yes covers with pan pipes.
And there was I thinking it was "Two Buck Chuck".
no no no...
It's Tony Banks' Cat.

There's only room for ONE cat on this 'ere manor, guv!!!! :x
:D
Interested to read in Prog #4 that Tony Banks' "Curious Feeling" is being re-released with a 5.1 mix.
Might have to get that....really like that album.
Some Js and an A in Brum, you say?! SOLD! :D
Really excited to hear the support for Birmingham :D
Do you know something I don't?
Also – how do we book tickets? :(
lol no I don't know anything, I meant I was excited to find out who it is =)
And I'm going to guess the only way to order is to call the venue which the internet pleasantly tells me is 0121 772 8174. Or buy on the door =)
Telephone?! In this day and age?! With my reputation!?!?!?!
*saves number*
I'm due to be working it but I refuse to miss this gig so work can go to hell :)
:D Just bought me and Mrs turbo tickets for the peel :D booked into the travelodge all set to go, asked to pick my tickets up at the door as Ive been having serious problems with my post, but completely forgot to ask when doors open  can anyone let me know the Sp
Who's going to the Brum gig? There is a rather fine pub not a million miles away from the venue which has to be tested (hopefully not to destruction) which would be a good meet up place....
Quote from: "mikebass"I'm due to be working it but I refuse to miss this gig so work can go to hell :)
You booking the day off, mate?
I've gotta speak to my boss, he wasn't in today, but assuming I can get the day/afternoon off, we're good to go!
Anna's booked the afternoon off, I think, and if I can get the Friday off too, reckon we could hit the train so I can enjoy a pint or two? 8)
What time do we reckon it'll be finished, Frost*ies? Is the venue easy enough to get to? Never heard of it until Jem announced the gig.
By my reckoning it's about 15-20 minutes walk max from Moor Street station in Brum, although I've never been before - I've only ever made it as afr as the Barfly which is a bit nearer (the station).
Got a DJ mate who does DJ things at the larger Rainbow warehouse on the opposite side of the road and he reckons it's pretty good. Also heard something on the local news last week about UB40 doing a gig there as the neighbours are trying to get the music licence revoked - what is it with people, they buy property near a music venue then moan that the noise is too much !!!!!!
Ah, I know Moor Street. I'd be getting off at New Street, though.
I'll grab me some Google Maps info a bit later, today is meant to be pay day so I can order tickets at last!
Edit:
Google Maps Walking Directions (//http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Birmingham+New+Street+Rail+Station+%4052.478190,-1.898360&daddr=B12+0LD&hl=en&geocode=Fe7AIAMdiAjj_w%3B&mra=cc&dirflg=w&sll=52.476324,-1.89158&sspn=0.006286,0.017982&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=16)
They reckon a 20 min walk as well. Tempting.

How the hell am I meant to book tickets for the Globe show? The gig's not on their site and I can't reach anyone on the phone. Not impressed.
Also, do we have any idea of start times as it affects whether a friend can make it...

Anyone going to the Peel to see these reprobates? I'm a wee bit excited coz Tinyfish are supporting in an acoustic stylee too.
There should be a party of four from Norwich. :D
I'll be there, probably. Or should that be: "improbably", since I have never been seen by another Frostie? Resultantly, I feel like I'm attending my own personal wave function collapse.
There are conditions, of course. Principal examples would include: I'll be there if I don't get lost on the 5 mile drive.
Uncertainty attends my every waking moment.
I shall be there with the trouble and strife, and now its only a week away I must admit I'm getting quite excited. :D

Im there Saturday. Franks gig in Nottingham on Thursday and the esoteric evening Saturday. I know which im looking forward to the most!
It involves a mysterious questioning mechanism
The Questioning Mechanism is built and largely works like a dream. 8-)
I typed "questioning mechanism" into Google, and this kept appearing on every page...

That's exactly what it looked like when we dug it out of the ground. JM said he'd upgraded it hence, so we'll see...
By 'eck I'm looking forward to this.

Any reputable party shop or joke shop should sell them. I'm hoping that beards aren't compulsory though - I only have a 'tache.
but its got to be a freaky abe lincoln beard - no tache...
(I did see a lot of abe lincoln beards on ebay but bit risky with post at mo, so will try and find a joke shop somewhere)

Just got back home from the gig. Ahh, the awesomeness of it all.
Proper reports tomorrow....
I loved watching Racing Hippo and Philadelphia dancing
Tinyfish were great
Will not do spoilers for those going to Cardiff but it was brilliant
Gig buddy called off in morning. I set off but it was one of those days when nothing felt right, including the driving. Not feeling at all comfortable, a few miles out I did a U-Turn. Really sorry to have missed everyone and everything, but it was, you know, one of those things. :(
Looking forward to all the reports tho! :)

It is of course possible that it's not that we don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet - maybe it was so esoteric we just don't know where to start?
Cracking night at the Peel chaps :)

Just to say, on the evening I really wasn't sure because Kino was one of those bands that I had been meaning to get into but never got round to. I couldn't decide whether I was bloody stupid to not have heard it, or bloody lucky to be stood just several feet in front of the boys as I heard the material for the first time. Either way, now as the proud owner of 'Picture' I couldn't be happier, I'm SO into this band and it's just really cool that I got into even more amazing music as a result of this band.
Cheers!
