Title: what the hell
Post by: rogerg on February 01, 2011, 01:56:12 AM
some electro-pROG (//http://soundcloud.com/rogerg/comet-2)

this is actually an older piece which I "re-sounded" in Logic. have been so busy lately that I haven't had much chance to do much of anything, so this is a bit of a head-clearer.  hopefully, there will be some inspiration on its way....   8-)

I like it a lot, it reminds me a little of Larry Fast  8-)

I dared to load it in Cubase, add some drums samples, and play bass & guitar.
I'll send it to you, if you promise not to be too mad at me

Are these just built-in synth sounds that come as standard with Logic, or have you got sample packs and the like? I love some of them.

pretty much all Logic.  the only sample packs I have are the Apple Jam-Packs.  I've grabbed a couple of freebie sound things, but mostly just use the EXS24 stuff.  there's a lot of depth in Logic!  thank goodness, because I'm no programmer!   8-)

I think it was not an adress problem, it was my fault (too big attachment, I guess)
Anyway, here it is :
Comet (disfigured) (//http://soundcloud.com/david_c-1/comet-disfigured-o)

As the guitar sounded too heavy, I changed the mix a little... and add a weird intro too

way col!  I love it!  the Frost* reference in the second guitar solo made me laugh!  perfect!!

if you don't mind, I'd like to share this with my middle-school students!  they know Comet and I think they would like hearing this.  8-)

There's another (almost hidden) reference to Frost* :

Cool stuff Rogerg!  The stock synths in Logic are awesome and provide a never ending source of inspiration.
There are some really great patches in there.

This reminds me I just signed up on Soundcloud I need to upload some of my stuff to show everyone here.

I really need to root around in Logic to have a listen to all the wondreful patches! New sounds usually give me some inspiration to write something different.

I usually get stuck in a "guitars with strings" rut.
