Right. As the title of the topic says: Frost* Christmas 2011 AGM Post Gig Curry Puty-Namey-Downy-Thread.
It has been mentioned in a few other threads that there maybe someway of organising a post gig curry. This was to ensure the debarcle of 2008 was not repeated. In short Keith deciding he "needed" a curry, promptly followed by a bunch of Frost*ies following him around Kingston. No curry was consumed. We couldn't believe the lack of Hot Spiced Food Establishments in Kingston. Only to awaken the following morning to find the street outside the hotel (Travelodge Chessington Tolworth) lined with late night food outlets of foreign origin.
James (LivingForever) did, I believe, offer to try to find a curry house willing to stop open late. What with local knowledge and the fact it was his idea. (Thanks for volunteering James. ;) ;) ;) )

For this he needs firm numbers. Nowhere is going to stop open for 4 or 5 people, the last count.
So, put your name down on here if post gig curry is your thing. No promises that this will happen, it's all dependant on numbers. And James. (Lets be nice to him, he's got Man-Flu. Unless Karin has killed him for ringing his Man-Flu bell too much)

Question, before I attempt any bookings. Are people likely to be happy to leave the venue as soon as the gig is over and head to the curry house?
Or will people be wanting to hang out at the venue chatting to the band etc for an hour or so after (making the curry not start till... Midnight?)

LF asks a very good question, though; immediately after or an hour after? If at all possible, I'd go for the one-hour-after option: I need to ask JM about his "rebuild the Titanic" plan again ... ;-)

ok - have finally made decisions
1. Will come home after work
2. Will take daughter to Mothers
3. Will drive to Peel
4. Will not take boy so therefore have a ticket spare
5. Will stay late and have curry
6. Will drive back
LF - that is one curry space for me (not two as I have put my name down on two forums ;) )
I reckon the hour gaps a good one too.
We will not be able to join the curry party but I hope out goes well. I imagine if you do get somewhere to stay open they'll get more business than just Frost*ies.

Ha ha, if only that were the case. No, the arrangements are a little tangled by the fact my offspring and a "plus one" will be with us and some of them need to be taken elsewhere afterwards.

Surely there's a completely legitimate historical view that almost everything that's done in the world is done because girls bat their eyelashes prettily at boys, and then the boys dash off and do things to impress said girls, with an aim to subsequently impregnating them.

I'm getting slightly nervous that they won't actually stay open no matter how many people we offer them... we are asking them to stay open till about 2am after all.

Riiiiiight.
They will stay open for a couple of hours for us, provided:
- We turn up at midnight which means leaving the Peel by 11.45
- I pay a £100 deposit, which means that if everyone subsequently drops out I will be very unhappy :D
- We order the food in advance on the day (they weren't completely insistent on that but with 32 people all turning up at once I can see how it would help them prepare...)
If anyone wants to drop out based on any of these things then please let me know!
I may have to direct people to check the menu online and give me their orders before the day otherwise I can see it being very difficult to coordinate when we're actually at the Peel!
