Title: Frost* Forum Collab Song v.2
Post by: E.S. on January 31, 2012, 04:53:05 PM
Making a new dedicated thread for the project. Maybe it should be gooey and sticky like the original one? :)

Our dearest leader, Cap'n, chief and master RWA has decided to step down from the role as the organizer and producer, so I'm the new boy putting it together. Not a leader, just the one buggering about with knobs and faders, glue, scissors and crayons.
Because of this, a new Box.com account has been created for future use, the other one belongs to Ron after all. I've got 5GB of space on it. :D

Therefore, I need everyone who want to participate to PM me your email address, so I can invite you to the new sharing place. I'll make folders for each one of you, where you can upload your files.

Upload your files in 44,1khz WAV format, preferably 24bit. 16bit also works if you don't have the 24bit option available.
It would also be nice if you include the tempo in the filename when you add a part.

Well, off we go then. :D

It is now "sticky" :) but hopefully wipe-clean.

As before, the intention (ha ha) is for this thread to be for the people actually working on the thing to communicate with each other.

Also, as before, please only sign-up if you want to actually deliver bits and pieces to the project but are also prepared for those bits to possibly not be used at all.

ES is bravely taking on the task of assembling a track that (hopefully) sounds good....this has to mean that some bits will need to be re-worked until good enough or until they fit better but it also follows that some bits just won't make it at all.

Looking forward to it :)

As I'm unfamiliar, do we contribute a single part or a fully instrumented passage?
Title: Re: Frost* Forum Collab Song v.2
Post by: Pedro on January 31, 2012, 06:56:51 PM
It can really be anything.
Last time we had everything from really short midi patterns to quite long, multi-instrument passages.
Typically, the flow was :-
The project will get a tempo and time sign, at least initially.
1. Listen to what is there already and come up with something to go with, after or before it.
2. Submit it however you can, midi or mp3 (to keep things light-weight).
3. ES decides how best to use it.
4. If it's a go-er(!) ES will ask for it on high quality WAV if you can do it.
5. If you can't do it, someone else could volunteer.
Some of the process last time involved replacing parts that were there but needed to be done either on real instruments or simply because someone wanted it to be less of them on the track. That meant people could contribute without having to compose anything themselves.

The thing is, no-one should feel excluded on the grounds of their level of ability out the gear they have. If you can expires an idea somehow it can be considered.
Hopefully that's about right.... :)

Good point Pedro, an MP3 upload would be best to begin with. Saves space and bandwidth :)

You contribute exactly as much as you want or can. If it's a finished arrangement or a single chord, anything is a valid contribution.
I have a tendency to write something, and then build an arrangement around it with a full band. Of course all of it is done "in the box", plus some shoddy attempts at playing bass and guitar. But here's the fun part; you might be a proper guitar player and replace my bits, or even better; rewrite it. Then a drummer might wanna play through the entire track, or at least a longer section of it, change it up, add parts... and so on.

A neverending rewrite and remix. :)

For those of you who remember 1976 (not the year ;) ), I thought it could be fun to pick a little piece from that and see where it goes. It's a real shame the song was never finished, and apparently abandoned for good.. so it's a little tribute to the song that never was. A suggestion from me:

Camerons up for a bit of this. He loves 1976, just asked him what he fancies doing. Going to do a drum keyboard based bit, hes ditched the guitars for this one. I fancy a real quiet acoustic 12 string bit. I will get my thinking head on!

This is from a while ago.

I'm throwing the individual tracks up today in 320k MP3 format, so anyone can play along, add things, whatever floats yer boat. Tempo is 130BPM, and one bar of silence before it starts.

Well I'd like to say it's me playing a real guitar but, alas, it's just me dabbing the keys to trigger a couple of Omnisphere's presets. That nylon guitar sound is rather lush.

I appear to be thinking that where ES's clip ends feels like a 4-beat (semi-silent) break before the first verse starts.
I can hear (in my mind's ear) a slightly over-driven voice singing a melody line over a continuation of that riff.
I'll try to "sketch" the melody line later on, then maybe someone might come up with a few words and maybe someone (else?) might have a bash at singing it?
Kind of feels like a verse-bridge-chorus-verse-solo-chorus-coda structure for some reason.

Lyrics would be great! Would be fun to have more vocals this time, and somehow tie in the " I can feel the world is turning" theme as a chorus... perhaps?

Not to say there shouldn't be long instrumental sections. ;)

Hmm... all sounding rather swish so far... I only wish I was more musical!

Still, I can make a stab at some (probably a bit rubbish) words... (though, it's a song, so great poetry isn't essential I guess either :D) Not sure how well they'll fit, but I'm sure someone can tweak them into shape... or even smash them up and make something new from the teeny pieces  :D

I can feel the world is turning, I can feel the earth start burning,
I can hear the end, the fall, In these flames, we see it all.

I can speak in words of death, My every move, my final breath...
In the dark, the planet spins, In the fires, the darkness wins...

(An Apocalyptic Love Story maybe?)

Nicely done too. :)

Random thought: While pondering a vocal melody I realised that some of the phrasing I was playing around with was a little bit like part of the verse of Pocket Sun. That got me thinking...our hero from Pocket Sun went back in time and got stuck...why not stuck in 1976?  :D

#...and I can feel the world is turning....without me....

@Mordwin: Interesting stuff. Spooky to note the "see it all" phrase...also an echo of Pocket Sun :)

I took the intro bit last night, looped it and jammed a few things over the top with the Kaossilator and made a few synth and percussion loops plus a few "noises"! I'll upload them tonite hopefully.

One thing I noticed, and forgive my unmusically trained brain if I've missed something, but to me the intro bit is in F not Eb, as an F minor pentatonic fits nicely.

Whatever, I'm having fun!! Thanks ES for managing it all!

Pretty sure we're in Eb. If it was in F minor you'd have to play a Db instead of a D natural which doesn't work  :?:

As far as I'm concerned, we're in C minor. That's what my completely self taught brain tells me.  8-)

I think I'm gonna reorganize the folders a bit to get them more like the old account. A separate folder for individual tracks, and a folder for every contributor inside. Or something like that. Things might get messy when we have a lot of files and different versions.

A bit of tomfoolery on my part.

I really liked Pedro's guitar line (congrats), so what better way to do it justice than completely wreck it.  In my box folder is the mp3 of some messing about  with Pedro's theme that I was doing over the last few days, before I realised just what a horrendous train crash it is.  I thought it might be worth sharing, just in case there is anything that sparks any other (better) ideas.

The only bit I think is remotely approaching being worthy is the little synth line I added over ES' rough mix.

Listen only if you have a sense of humour and a forgiving attitude.

I've just uploaded a rough sketch of how I "heard" the structure in my mind's ear.
I've only used blocks of ES' original track (not picked up any of the other goodness that folks have done yet).

So it's intro, stop/go pause, verse one, chorus one... just to convey the idea. Very "obvious"/conventional possibly but, as I say, just pinning up ideas.

The vocal line (represented by a shonky lead sound) is of course shamelessly copied from PocketSun, continuing the thought that our hero is stuck in 1976(!).

Verse#1
I had a window on my wall, when she lit up I saw it all,
...blah, blah, blah (some clever past/present/future-tense wordage here)...and finishing with...
But that was then and this is now, I must get back to me somehow....
Chorus
And I can feel the world is turning...something, something, something,  etc.

I don't know if it's needed, but I just re-worked my end of it to match and hold the tempo of your nice take on EIMA.

The benefit is that, without the "expressive" slow-downs it better lends itself to not necessarily being at the end of the piece.
I also got to re-draw the picking a bit, which is always fun (for me), trying to still make it sound semi-"believable".  :)

Hello all!

I have a bit of a tech question for those who know about MIDI. Ready? Let's go!

So I have a Yamaha DTXpress IV and I wanted to create some "Human-but-MIDI" drums for the project. I have them connected to my laptop using a midi to usb cable and recording them using reaper. This part is fine, I can see that all the right midi's have triggered on the midi map thing (?)

However, I've tried playing it back using Kontakt player and the Pop drum kit included with the factory selection but not all the sounds are coming out. For example, say  I've hit the ride on all 8th notes per bar, the ride sample might trigger only twice?

Any ideas?  :(

So in 8 beats it plays on beat 1 and 5, perhaps?
I don't know the tools you are using but my first guess is a polyphony or (more likely) a re-triggering setting.

Urrrrm... First off make sure each Kontakt instrument is set to the proper MIDI channel.

It's also possible that a load MIDI control changes are messing with the VST. Try going into event list mode and delete all of the 'non-note' events.

That's about all I can think of without 'playing' with it.
Title: Re: Frost* Forum Collab Song v.2
Post by: El_Mayonnaise on February 19, 2012, 12:37:50 PM
Thanks for the super fast response guys  :D

Pedro: Yes basically not all notes are triggering. Say I did a drum fill at a constant speed at a constant velocity, not all the notes seem to trigger. I think maybe you are on to something with the retriggering or polyphony. I opened the little Kontakt player keyboard and some of the notes are held down like a chord.....

Dan: I am fairly certain all the channels are right as I do hear the correct sounds in the correct places *some* of the time. As for the second suggestion.....huh? :P I am quite new to this (I bought the cable so I could take part in the FFCSV2) so I'm not too sure what the first bit meant. The event list mode I found but there seems to be an awful lot to delete if i understand "non-note" correctly.

EDIT

Right definitely not the input as exporting the midi file and playing that in windows media player plays every single note (even though its a nice mixture of midi piano and drums)

I've put the midi file and the rendered file in my box space.

Interestingly with the midi file, the voices change even though I'm hitting just snare, High tom, mid tom, floor tom....
Title: Re: Frost* Forum Collab Song v.2
Post by: Pedro on February 19, 2012, 01:02:15 PM
Sounds like a note mapping issue. If the instrument kicks out different midi notes based on how hard you hit (can't think why it would...except for maybe a hi-hat?) You might hear the voice change? I'm guessing here. :)
I'll look at the file later.
Title: Re: Frost* Forum Collab Song v.2
Post by: El_Mayonnaise on February 19, 2012, 01:05:58 PM
Ah now that makes more sense to me. It's not a case of the note not being read by kontakt, its that the midi is sometimes mapping to other notes that are way out of the drum kit range....I think.

It's exactly this that put me off joining in with the first FFCS! Harumph!

I have Superior Drummer 2.0 and there's a template I load for it to work properly with my Roland kit so it maps everything correctly. I wonder of there is something similar for your set-up? I found out about it for my set-up via one of the VDrum forums.

Definitely, that! Only the notes with full velocity are being heard. All those with velocity under 100% aren't. I checked the part in Sibelius with 100% velocity on every note and everything was sounded.

Weird...
The piano roll I see for that midi looks like this...

...and the event list looks like this...

I'm still picking over it but the oddness includes :-
You get "Note On" messages for each hit on Channel 10, which is ok.
You also get corresponding events for "Note Off" (actually "Note On" with zero velocity which I think is supposed to amount to the same thing) messages but these are on Channel 1.
You can see in the last column that the durations for each note last until the end of the sequence, all notes overlapping on Channel 10. The "Note Off" events are having no effect (in my set-up)
There are a few non-zero velocity notes on Channel 1 as well (e.g. C4 at 00:00:07:19 with velocity 84).
When I put all the events onto a single channel, I hear the desired pattern; four beats (different pads), the same four beats again and then the four pads again but two beats on each.

Playing the midi file in Windows Media Player is useful because you hear the drum beats except for the notes on Channel 1 which are played on a piano sound.

My set-up ignores the "Note Off" ("On"+0 Vel) events and seems to prefer to use the duration data in the file.
So if I use the tweaked midi file to trigger a pad, all notes sound right to the end.

If all of this data came from your drum kit, it suggests that it has forgotten (or been re-trained) how to do stuff. A factory reset might be in order perhaps?

Apart from that, there must be information of mapping the midi from your kit to a software instrument on the web somewhere. Shouldn't be too hard to find it.
Title: Re: Frost* Forum Collab Song v.2
Post by: Pedro on February 19, 2012, 02:08:43 PM
Just been reading the manual for your kit and it seems you can program the midi note and channel for each pad/trigger input. It would be worth checking that these are set correctly.

Cor blimey what a load to get my head around this early in the morning :D
Thanks so much for your help though. So far:

I have made sure all drum pads are channel 10.
Changed the drum kit settings to produce note off signals
Made sure all the voices are assigned to the correct midi notes.

The result so far:

It is a lot more reliable, I can now record single midi notes with ease.

However, there are occasional notes that are still getting "stuck" as if they are being held down and only really simple things can be recorded, double strokes for example just will not trigger or will only trigger the sample once.... :(

Interested to see the midi file after your changes.
It's also worth playing that midi file in Windows Media Player (assuming you are a windows user). This gives a hint as to where the problem is (in the drumkit or in the gear that is interpreting the file). If double strokes sound right in WMP then it might be time to look at the settings for the soft instrument?
Title: Re: Frost* Forum Collab Song v.2
Post by: El_Mayonnaise on February 20, 2012, 02:35:39 PM
Thanks Pedders, playing the midi file in WMP shows that the proper strokes aren't coming through at all. A snare roll of about 5 seconds will just get 2 snare hits at 2 seconds in and then at 4 (for example) but at least there's no piano noises now

EDIT

Forgot the midi file, its in my file called "roll". It is *supposed* to be 2 bars of quarter notes on snare, htom, mtom, ltom and then a 3rd bar of 16ths on the same. As you will see the simple notes come out fine but the 16ths just get that first snare hit and then nothing...
Title: Re: Frost* Forum Collab Song v.2
Post by: Pedro on February 20, 2012, 11:49:55 PM
Ok, the roll.mid file looks like this when I load it in Sonar...

When I hit "Play" I hear; "Snare, T1, T2, T3, Snare, T1, T2, T3, Snare".
I hear the same in MediaPlayer.

I was going to suggest that the doubles might be being stopped by the kit being set to have an insanely high protection against double triggering, but if that were the case, you would expect to at least hear the first hit of each of the doubles...but we only hear the snare.

The appearance of the piano roll is troubling since the first T2 hit is "never ending".
One would expect the duration of the note to be the same as all the other short notes.

If you haven't already (and you don't mind losing any custom settings), I would strongly suggest giving this beast a factory reset...

Quote from: "http://www.americanmusical.com/ItemFiles/Manual/yamaha/dtx.pdf"Factory Reset
This operation returns all of the DTXPRESS IV's internal settings back to their original factory defaults.
Operation
1. First, press the [SHIFT] + [SAVE/ENTER] buttons to call up the Utility pages.
2. Press the [>] button several times to call up the UTIL8 page.
3. From the
"UTIL 8
< FACTORY RESET"
page, press the [SAVE/ENTER] button to call up the prompt asking for con?rmation of the Factory Set operation.
To cancel the Factory Set operation, press any button except for the [SAVE/ENTER] and [SHIFT] buttons (the
jog dial can also be used to cancel the operation).
4. Once again, press the [SAVE/ENTER] button to proceed with the operation.
Please proceed with caution, since executing this operation will also rewrite the entire memory contents of the DTXPRESS IV (all Click Sets, User Trigger Setups 8–11, User Drum Kits 51–70, User Songs 64–83, Utility data) with the data that was set in the unit's memory when it was shipped from the factory.

If it is still doing such odd things, it might be knackered or in need of an update (are there such things?) or in need of some *very* careful/detailed setting up.
Title: Re: Frost* Forum Collab Song v.2
Post by: El_Mayonnaise on February 21, 2012, 12:53:43 PM
I can confirm a factory reset has done nothing for the issue. Thanks for all the help but I feel my personal issue is derailing the thread a little (and potentially some of the creative processes) so I think I will the resign the midi approach.

However, I'd still love to create some "real" electric drum recordings which maybe you guys could get midified on the more realistic sounding vst's?

Onwards and progwards!  :D

EDIT

Just a quick afterthought, how much affect would a faulty midi cable have? I can't say I invested all that much in it  ;)
Title: Re: Frost* Forum Collab Song v.2
Post by: E.S. on February 21, 2012, 02:21:19 PM
I wish I had some advice to offer, but I have never used anything but a single keyboard hooked up to the computer. The only bad thing I've had is double trigging, but that's because dual MIDI signals have come in, via the MIDI interface and the Fantom USB. Doesn't sound like that's happening here.
In my experience a broken cable means no signal at all. Again, I've never really had a lot of trouble, so I don't know. I missed the glorious 80's and the age of MIDI trial and error.

It would be great if you would contribute. I have a pretty extensive drum library, so sound is no problem. Superior 1 and 2, plus the Metal Foundry library. Thought about getting some of the Custom & Vintage, but.. I have too many drums already. It's mainly for demo purposes and songwriting anyway.

Or we could just use an 808 and call it a day. Or I could just get my coat.

I think we'll probably only need the Metal Foundry one. Does it have "Oil can snare drum" on it? Let's use that and just pitch shift it for all the drums a la Metallica :P
Title: Re: Frost* Forum Collab Song v.2
Post by: Pedro on February 21, 2012, 05:52:52 PM
Fair play sir. If you would like to continue the process we can open a thread in gear corner. If you've had though that's cool.
Last volley from me then...

Broken cable? Midi cable, probably not. Kit wiring, PCB connections in the brain, possibly.
Next things to try; on single drum, see if you can get a reliable chain of beats by going slow. If you can, see how fast you can get it before it fails.
Try swapping pads and cables around? See if some combinations work?

Anyway, onwards! :)

We are having pretty much the same problem with Cams Roland Kit. The midi recording misses some of the stuff he plays. Mainly snare and hi hat strokes. We are going to have a look at drum maps to see if this will help.

Geetar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feWYUqUkots (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feWYUqUkots)
Sequencing/arranging stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UJaLp-50rc (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UJaLp-50rc)

I can contribute mixing/mastering/arranging/sequencing/guitar, whatever you need really.

Does anybody know where I can find the original bits from 1976 that we heard on the EIMA DVD? I'd like to try stuff for this project as well. :)

Pop the DVD in your computer, the MP3 is actually right on the disc for you to grab. :)

I can't find it anywhere on the internet and it sucks because all my CDs are at my parent's place. I don't know when I'll go there again.

Sorry for not taking care of the project, I'm in the middle of an album and some other time consuming musical adventures. There will be one tune released online soon, for anyone into some seriously strange and heavy music.

I promise I'll try to work on it later. In the meantime, anyone can add parts, edit, do whatever you want with what's there. Remix, then remix the remix, add bagpipes etc... :D

I do have one vision, however... this tune needs some da da da da da da da da.  8-)

I must be stupid then. Because I went to my parents' place, got my CD, and popped the DVD in my computer and all I see are the instrumental tracks. Can anyone send me the damn mp3 please, it's not on my CD or DVD, and it's not anywhere on the Internet either O_o

:) Quite.
When disks first appeared in our house (years ago) I managed to train the children, after a while, to NEVER just dump a disc out in the open...always put it back in the case. This last bit actually became; "always put it back in a case"....so ejected discs got put in the case of whatever the kids were about to put on...sometimes creating "chains of dis(c)placement" several discs long.
This has obviously continued into their adult life since, Daughter of Pedro just lent us series 1 and 2 of "Life on Mars" but we don't want to start watching them yet because both are missing disc 4 of 4! (She took out whatever was in the fourth slots before she brought the sets to us).
So, currently, no clue where my DVD is.... :(

*puts hand up*

I'd love to join in on this if I may...

As I mentioned elsewhere, I am travelling at the moment and so about 17000 km from my gear, but I can at least have a listen so that when I get back in a few weeks I'll have an idea of where we are.

To put me in context, I am a recording engineer/producer by trade (at least I was before becoming a full time Dad and moving back to Australia). I am currently working on scoring a movie, and I have the east west complete composers collection so I could do some nice orchestral arrangements if needed. I play guitar, bass and keys, sing a little when needed, and program drums well enough for demoing ideas. Some of the older members here might have grabbed some tracks of my old band that were posted here a while back. The band was Taliesin, and the album was recorded after I had moved to the u.s. but the songs were from my tenure and I still got some writing credits.

Ok, my humble submission is up. When I am on a roll I do tend to get carried away with ideas and keep plugging away until I have reached a logical endpoint. I almost didn't post this as I didn't want to seem like I am railroading the collaboration, and I know there were plans to include other themes...

Then I realized "this is prog!" This material can be deconstructed in a number of ways, or even just appear as an intact section of a 25 min epic. Thanks E.S.

The guitars are all from my Axe Fx II, which is my new toy and a fantastic bit of kit. I based it primarily around E.S.'s submisson with the addittion of DanofMay's Pocketsun section (time compressed to fit 130bpm) and the awesome Pedro spoons. I did some cutting and pasting and pitch shifting of the E.S. synth parts to make a B section, and some alternative layers to go with his parts. I uploaded mp3 files to the box account, but can up higher quality files if needed.

Oh, and just for fun I did some lyrics, but I'll leave that aside for the time being. So to reiterate, I really don't want to seem anti collaboration by taking the ball and running with it - thats just how I write. When I am on a roll, I tend to see a big picture and want to fill it out. From there I submit it to you all, and if even one idea makes it to the final piece I m a happy chappy.

If you don't want to log in to the whole box thing I put the demo up on my Soundcloud page, here: http://soundcloud.com/rook-scores/waiti ... emo-no-vox (http://soundcloud.com/rook-scores/waiting-for-frost-demo-no-vox)

Wowzers, that's good stuff, well played sir. :)
Love the B section, has a proper Frost*ie feel to it.
Don't worry about getting carried away, it's a good thing, wish it would happen more often for me.
Need to try to find some time to play with this project again.
Thanks for sharing that.

Definitely great. :D I think we should use a lot of it for the 1976-ish part of the song. Somehow get that other theme in there as well, it's gonna be great.

And yes, no time limit on these tunes, throw all ideas in there and we'll make a collective decision. This might not even be the start of the song, who knows? :)

Wish I had some time too, I got some nice ideas now. Things are a bit busier than I expected, but it will calm down.

Thanks for the kind words. I did some lyrics that would fit, just for giggles. Not submitting it for he "actual" song, just to amuse some fellow frosties. I tried recording it, but... I'm not really a singer. Anyway, 'twas just for fun.

"Waiting for the Frost"

Something happened to my mind
Not prepared for what I'd find
If you listen for a little bit
You wouldn't settle for other people's shit

Waiting for the frost to fall
It won't take very long at all

I am waiting for the next report
But all my searching, it all comes down to naught
It all breaks down, fundamentally
To a man with a biscuit and a cup of tea

Waiting for the frost to fall
I think somebody isn't on the ball
I bang my head against the wall
Waiting for the frost to fall

And the rest of it was variations of the chorus. Apologies to Jem; I know he is on the ball, it is all just in fun :)

Hopefully there will be more time to deal with this project later. I'm knee deep in album recordings, gigs, piano practice and writing. Expect a VERY heavy prog metal album by After Eternity sometime this year (hopefully). Warning: May contain overplaying, drop-A tuning and the occasional intentional prog cliché. Also a lyrical concept.  ;)

Yes, this 'ere ship rather ran aground when Cap'n E.S. got far too busy to take it on.

The first effort was a success because we had someone with the skill and will ("skwill"?) to drive it forward (the mighty Ron).

I don't suppose it's really dead...and the direction we were going is only really just that - not the whole trip.

I like what you have done, it's that injection of fresh "what??" that contributes to the joy of such endeavours and you begin to hear something altogether more interesting and inspiring.

Thanks for sharing that. Who knows, someone might take hold of the wheel one day.

Thanks Pedro. Glad you liked it. Yes indeed the skwill can be hard to come by sometimes. Well I had a bit of fun doing it and it made me realise how badly I need to practice my scales so that's a good thing. We'll see what the future brings. You said the previous colab was a success. Is that on the forum somewhere? i'd be interested to hear it. Cheers.

Actually, that's a good question. Not sure where it is "out in the open", as it were. I was able to grab it from the original Box account.

So, now you can find a copy of the track here :- http://soundcloud.com/user9295287/frost-forum-collaboration-song

A picture showing the track arrangement and credits here :- http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/waitepb/FFCS13imagefile_zps434bd49a.png (http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o265/waitepb/FFCS13imagefile_zps434bd49a.png)

...and you can watch a video of the tracks playing here :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2MsK1VbleI (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2MsK1VbleI) (watch in HD if you can)

Perhaps it could do with not repeating quite as much as it does but there are things about every bit that I think work really well.

There's a huge thread about it here :-  http://frostmusic.net/forum/index.php?topic=2030.0 (http://frostmusic.net/forum/index.php?topic=2030.0)

I do like it indeed but I didn't press the like button as didn't see it. Just to clarify i'm blind and use a screen reader so I sometimes miss things. But I do indeed like it. Lol. I love the reworking going on and its a wonderful tribute to the frostiness. I particularly like the keyboard player whoever that maybe, but then I am one also so that figures I guess. Once again this makes me think I could do with some practice! Any hoo, its a great achievement, and I can now appreciate the potensial work involved if we were to try and replicate something of the same detail and complexity. That said, prog doesn't always have to be complex. There is more than one way to progress a cat. Well done to everyone involved in both these projects. Inspiring stuff. :)
