Title: Worlds Apart (and my search for a keyboardist...)
Post by: RobRideout on November 18, 2012, 06:05:13 PM
I've probably already talked the ears off many of you about the project I'm working on at the moment, but for those who have slipped the net... *inhales*

For the past about 5 years I've been writing and working on a big prog song called Worlds Apart. I've just finished writing it and I'm recording it for my uni course, so it'll finally be finished at the end of this year. It clocks in at a not-unimpressive 25 and a bit minutes, and I'm well happy with that.

Since I'm not a keyboarder though, I need to find some people who can put down some solos, as I don't just want them to sound like guitar solos played on a keyboard, so If I was to put up some of the beds that the solos are over, does anyone fancy having a go?

Cheers :)

Subject to free time and all that other real-life-related twaddle I'd be happy to have a go at "fabricating" one. Which is another way of saying I can't play one but I could try to paint one on the piano roll.

Of course, 'tis the season to be busy but I'm keen...if possibly not available...and I'm certainly cheap! ;)

Woo! Really looking forward to hearing what people come up with!

Right. This is my plan. Anyone that has spare time, I'd REALLY appreciate someone prog-minded listening through what I have. It's all in MIDI at the moment (expect awful GM sounds!) but it all gets on the move in january.

I've booked the drum sessions and everything looks to be going ahead on schedule, so this will be my last chance to change anything major before it goes to print.

SO

What I'm going to do is put an audio bounce of the MIDI on Mediafire, where Frost*ies can download it, and have a listen and tell me what they think. This is the first time I've put it up for 'public' listening, and I eagerly await your opinions.

It's kind of a cross (stylistically) between Milliontown and A Change Of Seasons. At least that's what I was going for.

All keyboard solos at the moment are just temporary filler, and the vocals are emulated with a sawtooth synth. Most of it IS final at this stage though, so I won't hide behind the 'meh, it's not finished' like I usually do...

Will post it and then put a link in here.

EXCITE.

ALL OF MY EXCITE.
