Well, as a person who favors Hagar over Roth (not that it really matters, though), I'm really enjoying this release. It's pretty straight forward groovy rock, much in the same vain as Van Halen mark II. I hope they'll keep it going and get better and better with every release :)

Quote from: "RWA"Oh, thanks for that! If anyone finds other weirdness over there don't hesitate to notify me. So much crap to think of.  :D

A really nice site, but there's one minor glitch: You can playback two or more songs at the same time. In a perfect world shouldn't the first one stop when you start another one? :)

Keep up the good work!

Just a couple of radio rips found somewhere... lying around... too tempting not to pick up...

Not that I feel bad about it though. I'll buy the album anyways, so there's no starving artist we're talking about :)

Great news! Almost worth finding my bottle of Glenfiddish and celebrate but I think I'll leave that for the next rebirth of Morse's Christianity. He's a really nice guy (though?), even though he did fondle my Snow Limited Edition case and wrote "God Bless" all over it. A simple "Neal Morse" would suffice, thanks :)

Yeah, I'll be moving the Diffidentia stuff to mySpace soon(-ish). However, 3 of the tunes can be downloaded from this site.

Eh, that also reminds me, I haven't uploaded a new Diffidentia tune in over a year. What a shame! I think I'll have to upload a new song (Load) about... now!

Big ol' update!

There's 3 new songs on the Rotary-myspace site (//http://www.myspace.com/rotaryband). 2 very poppy ballads and one, new and shiny, full on rocker. Almost stoner-like.

The two poppy songs (Serenity and Waiting) are quite different from my usual stuff. It's how I end up when I write songs on the acoustic instead of the electric guitar. A greater emphasis on vocal melody and more simplified instrumental sections. Of course, no song of mine is 100% anything, and these two follow that rule by including more rock-y parts.

The latest addition is something I wrote and recorded last Monday. 3 minutes of rock (which is really short compared to my usual stuff). It all spawned from a blusey riff I stumbled upon and had to record right away. I decided to try a more straight on rock approach which seemed to fit the song really well, and the lyrics came as a result of that choice - straight up rock clishés.

Well, I hope you'll give it a try and let me know what you think :)

Steve Wilson also had a remix competition going on a few days ago and the stems are still up: //http://www.kscopemusic.com/stevenwilson/insurgentes/remix-competition.html  Everything but the drums are in there.

O-ho-yeah, the Fantom Godfrey :)

But gosh, how I hate people/companies that post QuickTime videos online. Give me a useful format instead. Never again will I install that Malware (that includes iTunes btw) on my pc. Though, with a little help from VLC, and right-click, and a download, all is well, the rant is over...

Oh, btw, "4. Sanpling" ?

I think it's out of stock. I got mine a long time ago (a few years?) through //http://www.progrock.co.uk but I can't find it on their site any longer.

CORRECTION: //http://www.progrock.co.uk/acatalog/P.html It's there! Look for [CD Single] ProgAID - All Around The World EP.

Quote from: "xelerad"Speaking of Wilson and knowing a lot of you guys like to tweak and play with songs, there is a remix contest for the track Abandoner  -->  HERE  <-- . Is anyone gonna try something with that?

Thanks for bringing my attention to that one. It's my first attempt at a remix but I'm quite satisfied with the result. At least it's completely different from the original. Maybe I'll post the remix here at a later point in time...

Friends Of Frost* / Rotary - New songs posted!
February 01, 2009, 08:10:15 PM
I've just uploaded two "new" songs by my other band, Rotary. Give it a try and let me know what you think :)

//http://www.myspace.com/rotaryband

The songs in question are Serenity '09 and Waiting '09, by the way.

Not much to say about them, to be honest. I've laid down some vocals for once. I guess it's better if you let me know how that went. Other than that.... Hmmm, I'd say these two songs are somewhat softer than my usual stuff, not that that takes anything from them :)

I'm a big fan of Throwing Copper and Secret Samadhi but I must admit they lost me after that.

As with almost anything touched by Hughes (including stuff from the 10 years he can't remember) it's top notch!
