Frost* / Manchester last night
December 05, 2010, 10:26:17 AM
Well it's the morning after the night before & I just wanted to say thanks to the guys for a brilliant evenings' entertainment. Jem was totally on form - the band member intros & the "duel betweeen Jem & Craig were hilarious! (What a find Craig turned out to be - Awesome drummer!) John was his usual animated self - so underrated, and even a few wry smiles from him during Jem's antics. A mention also for Nathan who is a fine replacement for JJ. Highlights for me were BLM (JM's solo still gives me goosebumps) Milliontown, and The other me. The only gripe I had was that the sound was awful - Jem's & JM's vocals were mostly drowned out & at times the guitar & keyboards were too low in the mix. It was a shame as ARK's sound was superb (as was their set!) - it's a shame that they felt that they had to turn the volume up for Frost's set. Nice to finally meet Nellie, and thanks to JJ for signing my ARK CD. Wish I could be at Derby tomorrow, but will have to be content with the DVD when it's released. Good luck tomorrow night chaps!

Frost* / Re: Leeds reviews
June 13, 2009, 05:26:19 PM
Well I'm back home now listening to the new CD -wearing my newly aquired Frost Tee shirt. Agree with all that's been said about the Leeds gig - we were upstairs so didn't suffer from the sound problem with the bass that those of you downstairs had to put up with.
My only gripe was that they had 2 queues outside - 1 for downstairs & 1 for upstairs (seemed logical enough). But once we got upstairs I went to get my copy of the CD & my tee shirt only to be told that they had none and that I'd have to wait until after the gig to go downstairs to purchase them. I then went down & asked one of the door staff if I could just nip in to buy my merchandise only to be told I'd have to wait till after the show! I even offered to give her the cash if she'd get them for me - she then went across to the merchandise counter and asked if they'd put me the stuff on one side which apparantly they said they would - Why I wasn't allowed to buy the stuff myself is beyond me, and why didn't they have any Frost merchandise on sale upstairs as well as downstairs?
This was my first gig at the O2, and to be honest I wasn't too impressed with the venue at all - Despite all this I thought Frost were brilliant - they should've been allowed on earlier as we were all seated by 7.30 so they could've played for at least an hour. The CD is superb by the way - Can't wait for the full album to be released!

Shame they've only got 40 mins  - much as I like DT I was hoping for a longer Frost set . BLM & Milliontown alone are almost 37 minutes long! Maybe they'll do a "medley" of some of the longer songs? I'll be more than happy whatever they play though - must admit I'm totally fired up for tonight's show.... Hope the Stye's cleared Jem!!! Let's hope the O2's had it's delivery of biscuits..... :D

Announcements / Limited edition CD
March 06, 2009, 07:53:39 AM
in a recent quote Jem says "I'm giving some serious thought to making a new limited edition Frost CD to accompany the Dream Theater shows. The one we did for the Spock's Tour was a massive success so it seems a bit mad to not capitalize on the 4 thousand-ish people we'll meet in those 2 days in Leeds and Southampton"
Is it still possible to get a copy of the CD from the Spocks tour? This was my 1st experience of seeing the band, and I wasn't aware of the disc being available. I would be very grateful if anybody can tell me where I can get hold of a copy (JEM?).
Can't wait for June 12th! - Any chance of a Frost/DT jam during the encores?

Where did you find this info? No trace of any UK tour dates on the DT web site, or anywhere else for that matter.... Do tell!  :?  A UK tour of DT AND Frost would surely be a progsters' dream!!!
