Was there ever allusion to negative vibes between them when Frost dissolved? I don't recall anything on that order (although the stuff that seemed to go down between Andy and Jowett, Nathan King, Alex Thomas then Craig Blundell seemed extremely chaotic and unnerving). I'm not looking to dig dirt or dish, but it just seemed like there was a lot of interpersonal fracturing behind the scenes. Through it all it seemed Jem and Mitchell were holding firm, then Frost was done with.

This has been in mind for awhile since Jem hasn't updated his blog for more than a month now, and his silences get worrisome after some time.

You know, these things happen. Very little lasts indefinitely, and some of the things that do lose all the joy and inspiration they once had. Every one of us can name a band, TV show or movie series that overstayed its welcome long ago, yet drags on like a crawling marathon runner.

Sure, it's disappointing that this chapter is over. At least we never had to see Jem doing a peacock strut at age 60.

Hi Jim, Hi all,

Unfortunately, I'm looking at unemployment right now and I can't host the Banana. I can barely host myself at the moment. Please move on to the next participant. I wish I could have been involved, but everything is looking quite awful and unbearable at the moment.

Well gee, I thought I was a reader. To my knowledge, I wasn't doing anything else with the site!

Yup. I tried checking it today and was blocked.

I'm starting to take this personally!

I wanted to sign up to get the banana here to New Jersey, USA, but apparently Arizona's having nothing to do with it. They're afraid the banana will want to stay, bringing its tropical fruity friends over the border with it, stealing jobs from native US fruit.

Hmph. How do you like them apples?

Hope my comment didn't come off as unnecessary grousing; more of a statement than a complaint - although one could end up feelinging like Julian Lennon when these things aren't handled with care. :D

And he never made mention of this or the new blog to the Frosties?

Kind of upsetting to think Frost has (in part) been bringing Jem down. Good luck with the electronic stuff and be well.

The only name that jumps to mind for 2010 is Mike Portnoy and his shock departure from Dream Theater.

North America is supposed to have one of the dryest winters this year because we're in an El Nino weather pattern... Or is it a La Nina weather pattern. To heck with it; wake me up when the Pinta and Santa Maria weather patterns arrive.

It really comes down to two things - Jem has been extremely forthcoming over the years, and when that changes, it is a bit of a shock. Add to that his last communique was in direct opposition to his usually gregarious nature, and what you get are a lot of worried people and equal parts speculation.

It may well be that, at the moment, Jem feels overexposed and needs to tinker with the machine a bit. It's become a common malaise in our modern society, that on the internet we speak freely and, in hindsight, regret having done so. I personally have done it far too often, only to have the digital world and the real world converge to my embarrassment.

I'm not saying this is what's going on with him, but it's going on with me and almost everyone I know. Sometimes radio silence is healthy.

There is another band in the US with the name Frost, fronted by Seven Witches founder Jack Frost. Clearly, the person who wrote that mixed the two biographies up.
