Friends Of Frost* / My band's first music video
« on: June 21, 2012, 11:36:17 PM »
G'day Frost*ies!

It's been a while since I've been here, and I'm a bit ashamed for opening up a topic such as this, but I'd love it if you could help me out.

Other than wanting to promote my band's cool new video, I'm also in need of views on YouTube. You see, we've entered a competition, where the bands with most views on YouTube, get to play a big festival here in the Netherlands.

So of course we have to try every dirty trick in the book to get those views, and I thought, where to find a dirtier audience than on the Frost* forum!

So, if you can find it in your heart, to help out a fellow Frost*ie, I - and my bandmates - will be eternally grateful. I'll understand if you're not a big fan of these kind of posts, so I'll apologize in advance. :)

Anyhoo, here's the link: http://

Thanks again, and if you have any comments about the music (or video), I'd love to hear those too! :)

Friends Of Frost* / My band's debut EP is out.
« on: October 12, 2010, 11:33:03 AM »
Hey everyone!

Just wanted to take a quick moment to plug the release of my band's self-produced, first EP. Considering we were on a budget of roughly 250 euro's, I think we did okay. :)

The music is mainly rock, with hints of other genres thrown about. I like to think we have a bit of our own style. It's hard for me to compare it directly to other bands.

Anyways, we're on For a more direct listening/download link, go to

Any comments are much appreciated. Thanks!

Hey everyone!

I posted about a week ago that I would be wearing my Frost* t-shirt on TV. And I did, so I just wanted to share it with you. In case anyone's interested. :)

I played on TV with my band Stroave, and I just uploaded the videos. You can find them on our website (in the 'media' section), or on

Anyone check them out yet? Their debut album is already legally up and streaming on YouTube!

If you don't know them, it's a supergroup with Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin).

Lovin' it! :D

Frost* / The Forget You Song - sound issues
« on: July 14, 2009, 10:13:56 AM »
I was listening to this song on the Frost*fest CD, and I can't help but notice something weird in the sound. It sounds to me like there's bad MP3 encoding on this. Like a low bitrate. It's not as bad as the version on MySpace, but there's definitely something weird there.

Now I'm listening again, and it almost sounds as if this was intentional. The vocals sound much cleaner and crisper. I don't know if this is because they're in a different range, and the MP3 compression doesn't affect it. It's very noticeable on the cymbals. They sound more thrashy than usual. It's pretty annoying imo.

Maybe it's just me hearing odd things. The rest of the cd sounds great, and so do the rest of my mp3's.

Anyone else noticing this?

Friends Of Frost* / Some of my songs

Hi everyone!

I thought this would be a great place to post some of my latest compositions. I have two songs to offer you. Both instrumental, because I'm a bad singer, and an even worse lyricist.

These songs were actually made for my friends. Last year I decided that I would write everyone a song for their birthdays. Then I would get other friends, or myself to do some bullshit/comedy singing on them. However, I will spare you all that, and just post the instrumental versions. ... sympho.mp3
Orchestral piece ... 20link.mp3
Rock kind of thing

Note that all of this is done by a midi keyboard, and loads of samples. There's nothing "live" on there so to say. Also bear in mind that I'm actually a drummer, not a keyboard player. :P

Comments and criticism appreciated!

I actually discovered these heroes not so long ago. I know, shame on me and stuff. But hey, I wasn't even born when these guys were popular.

Anyhoo, just wanted to get some Frosties* opinions on them. Maybe somebody has any good recommendations for me.
