Friends Of Frost* / Lonely Hearts by Third Light Films
February 27, 2013, 01:20:32 PM
Hi all,

Thought I'd share this with you lot for comments etc.  I got asked to submit a bit of music for a new short film called Lonely Hearts by Third Light Films (//http://www.leonchambers.co.uk/) a couple of months ago and my little song was given a green light about a month ago. We did the final mixes last night and they're off to Pinewood tomorrow to be dolbyfied into 5.1'y'ness and mixed in with all the foley effect etc.

There are two versions - the first is a 90's dance version that's played during the film on a portable radio -

The second is a piano ballad version which is played out over the credits -

For anyone that's interested the synths, pianos and dance version drums are squeezed out of an OASYS's orifices while and the rest is real world stuff!

Not very prog I'm afraid but I did put a tiny bit of Godfrey inspired sp-sp-sp-splicing into the dance version backing Vox towards the end!!

Other Bands / Lee Pomeroy - The Tar Babies
August 25, 2012, 12:08:22 AM
My band (Far Cry //http://www.far-cry.co.uk) are supporting Lee's band at a gig this bank holiday Monday. Sadly not It Bites but his 60's covers band The Tar Babies. The gig's at Trading Boundaries near Uckfield in East Sussex if anyone is nearby. We're on at 12:30pm or so and Lee will be on stage at around 2:30 ish. It's a free gig and marks the end of TB's weekend long music festival.
Trading Boundaries is fast becoming a prog venue to watch what with gigs by Wetton (with JM), Focus, Wishbone Ash & Steve Hackett this year alone. Christ alone knows why I'm playing there then!?!

Is no-one else going to see he amazing Mr Hackett on Saturday?

I hear Lee Pomeroy might be guesting too - although that could just be the rumour mill.  If anyone IS going, drop me a line and I'll meet you for a Harveys at the bar.

Bit late notice but this lot will all be playing at a fairly new prog venue in East Sussex - Trading Boundries - on Thursday.

Oh...and Roger Dean's doing a Q&A too.

Would be great to see any of you there - I'll be packing a Frosty T.

Gigs / Live Hidden Message
December 12, 2010, 10:50:09 PM
I might be remembering wrong (due to general over-excitement) but wasn't there some Morse Code during the opening "very serious" drone at the Christmas gigs?

Anyone get a recording of it & worked out what it said?

Gear Corner / Give JM a bonus

Just bought my first Cort bass.  A Curbow5 - it's lovely and plays as well as an instrument costing three times as much.  Never would've looked at them before JM's endorsement so - "Thanks JM - you earned your money today".
