Any Other Business / Postcount
January 12, 2011, 06:19:36 PM
I'm not sure if anyone has noticed, but my (and possibly everyone else's) post count seems to have dropped by about 5 or so.  This is only apparent because I've just dropped back to bourbon cream status!
 :?

And with that post, I now resume full Tunnock Tea Cake status  :D

Just listening to this on Spotify.

They do say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...
...Ryo appears to be channeling Jem halfway through //http://open.spotify.com/track/2amUX4xHKLwtWT9Y67LFa0 From the Darkness

edit: sorry, link not really functional for Americans...  :(

Any Other Business / Summer's End 2009
August 26, 2009, 06:54:15 PM
There's no Frost*iness this year  :( , but who's going anyway?

Interesting lineup: especially Saturday with Pallas and RPWL  :)
Given the location, it should be a shoo-in for BBS!

Any Other Business / Spotify
February 15, 2009, 11:49:43 AM
Is anyone else using Spoify?
I got an invite of a mate when it was in beta, but now anyone can join (but not in the USA yet*)
I'd heartily recommend Spotify.  There's a pretty good selection of music (although not that much obscure Prog), and best of all it's free and fast.  The quality isn't bad either.

Right now I'm re-exploring the early Genesis that I had on (now defunct) tapes.  I'd forgotten how much I liked Selling England - I might have to go and buy it again  :)

I do hope that these guys can make the business model work; I'm not sure that they can keep it going without increasing the (presently low) frequency of the adverts  :(

* I understand that the Colonials can sign up using a proxy and then log on anywhere.

Frost* / The Peel gig

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend (due to an enforced trip to the outlaws)    but nevertheless:
Good luck to Jem and the boys  :D
and...
have a bloody good time - all of you  ;)

I'll be expecting photos, video clips and tales of merry hangovers by sunday

Frost* / Polling?
December 07, 2008, 05:12:54 PM
phpBB ought to be able to do polls, but I haven't got the option to create one (and I do like a little poll now and again).  :?
Is this a deliberate policy or just a slip-up on the part of our admins?

This should really be in 'any other business' but I started in this section 'cos I wanted to do a poll...

Other Bands / The Urbane
November 28, 2008, 02:49:58 PM
Now, I know this must be old news to many here-  but...
The 2nd Urbane album (featuring - of course - our very own JM): Glitter is available for download from Play.com for the extraordinary price of £6.95.
And a very fine piece of work it is too :)
You can definitely hear where some of the influences for The Tall Ships come from  ;)

Treat yourself!
