Any Other Business / Any tips on what to do at 40?
November 22, 2011, 12:05:38 AM
I have to face the facts: i'm 40. Is there something i can do to compensate the feeling of loosing my youth? I already got a motorcycle and broke up with a girl who's 10 years younger then me. Is there anything besides listening to prog?

Any Other Business / Create your album art in 4 steps
January 08, 2011, 09:24:37 PM
I found this on facebook:

1 - Go to wikipedia and hit random. The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band. 2 - Go to quotationspage.com and hit random. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album. 3 - Go to flickr and click on "explore the last seven days". Third picture no matter ...what it is, will be your album cover. 4 - Use photoshop or similar (picnik.com is a free online photo editor) to put it all together. 5 - Post it with this text in the caption.

It would be funny to make a series of "nearly released albums"
This is my creation:

Gear Corner / DIY Drummers headphones
July 27, 2010, 03:22:11 PM
Recently I were looking for some headphones that i could use during drum recording sessions. I have a great pare from Beyerdynamic 770, but there was still a lot of bleeding through the headphones. So i went to the store and found some Ficfirth  headphones. They looked alright, but they fitted like shit. I couldn't hear properly and my ears probably  would hurt after a while.
As a former cabinet maker and a Do It Yourself enthusiast, i came up with the following plan:
I had an old pare of Peltor ear-protectors    lying around and bought a cheap pare of sennheizer headphones.

They work perfectly!!

Other Bands / Kaipa - In the wake of evolution
June 24, 2010, 03:52:41 PM
Well, you love them or not, and i'm enjoying there new album alot. Specially the fusion, prog, pop, folk crosover style.
The length  and the names of the song certainly qualify  as typically prog for this album. The first thing that caught my attention was the sound of the drums; very deep kick(too much for my taste) but the snares are just sounding beautifully.
Great arranged  songs with great voices.

June 05, 2010, 12:44:00 PM
It was humming so loud that i could hear it in the kitchen, but i finally found the perfect solution:

just suspend it in some rubber postal bands.

Any Other Business / Guess the tune
April 14, 2010, 07:10:30 PM
Hi all,
I'm trying to introduce a new game (don't know if its going to work, but hey...we will see).
play, sing, whistle or hum a part or fraze of a song and let other people guess the title and performer of the original. The one who guessed it has the honor to make the next guessable item.

ok...i will start off.

Friend of me and i are mailrocking, and here i'm rehearsing a song of his. It's a lot easier to play without you knowing it's been recorded.
The E-drums will be replaced for acoustic ones, and percussion has to be added.
(The last stroke on my cymbal is also the dumbest  )
