I checked this band out after hearing Jem mention them in Bert's interview, and they are genuinely properly the most exciting band I've heard of in AGES. If anyone's curious and on Spotify, I highly recommend checking out their latest full length album Lasting Echo, here. Seriously. Do it.  ;)

Aww, the media player bit of it seems to have stopped working for me... it works fine but there is no Marsupial for my enjoyment  :(  It worked fine this morning, I've checked flash and quicktime are up to date, but it tells me that additional software is required to play it, just not what that software is! I'm in firefox and on a mac... any ideas?

EDIT: Nevermind, it has returned!

Quote from: "Jem"I downloaded the DX5 and DX7 factory patch set today from Dave Benson's excellent DX resource site. By downloading the DX5 manual, I was able to recreate the entire bi-timbral factory patch set using both MOD-7 engines available in a patch, so I've now got a DX7 and a DX5 onboard, free of charge. This is a such a TOP synth.  :D

By Dave Benson I can only assume that you mean this guy:

Gigs / Re: It Bites/Mostly Autumn

Just back from Bilston, It Bites were terrific, Mostly Autumn are still playing as far as I know... says it all really! I found MA pretty unoriginal to be honest, and I found myself getting bored.. maybe it just wasn't to my tastes, but they seemed to be taking it all rather seriously, which was frankly off-putting! Anyway, more positively, IB was a whole load of fun, as well as being a total class act musically!

On a different note -  I'm pretty sure that Mitchell's speaking voice changes depending on what band he's in, he sounded a bit like a breakfast radio DJ tonight

Quote from: "EVP"supposedly Pro tools isn't so picky about what external hard drives it uses.

I hope this is true, to say that installing Pro Tools tends to be a 'difficult' birth is an understatement! Still, I'll probably be steering clear of the (still very expensive) cross-grade for now, having just invested in Logic Studio.

Quote from: "Phrog"Whats all this about a remixed DAM? I'd be very very much interested in one of those if they are indeed available, the mix was the one thing that was holding me back from properly falling in love with DAM the first time, I cant find it mentioned on Dec's website, but this would be most welcome if it exists!  :)
I can definitely confirm it exists, I bought a copy at the gig last month. PM katherine, she was selling them

Excellent, thanks, I've emailed the info address on Dec's website to ask if I can please have one if I order the 2 CD bundle

How does it sound? Big improvement on the first version?
I found it difficult to compare the two, but there again what would I know about music ;)

Fair enough, I look forward to comparing them :) Thanks for the info!

Quote from: "Mooncat"Nope. Was near the sound desk although was sporting a Frost* shirt!!!

Ah right, I did wonder if it was anyone on here.

The night was only dampened somewhat by a few tit-heads forming the world's most inappropriate mosh-pit during Fatal Tragedy, and every other song after that. Luckily there was a few people between me and it, but it was distracting to say the least. Damn selfish if you ask me. Other than that the gig was astounding, apart from Eden's Curse, who were horrendous

It was marvellous indeed! Mooncat, you didn't happen to be about 6 rows back in the middle, wearing a Philadelpia Experiment T-Shirt did you?
